If you wanted to go back to the original report, would you add a backspace button?
Also, would this method improve system optimization vs incorporating both taps into one report? Specifically, I would usually just join the tables and then copy-paste visuals into a new tab which would take that much time. However, I know that optimization can become a challenge.

As much as the Table and field names in both the source and target report have to be the same, do they have to be from the same source? I have my Source report pulling data from analysis service and the target is using a direct query to the datawarehouse that is used by the very same model. This is because some of the details we left out in the model but we have the in the DW.

Hi, is there any way to drill down multiple visuals, as we drill one of the visual.
Example: I have three different bar charts with x axis value (which is common in three charts) as company name hierarchy (company name and then product name), one of the chart has revenues as values another has gross margin percentage and last bar chart has cost. Now if I drill down on Revenues bar chart to product level, other two bar charts should also go to product level.

What happens if the target report is not a published report in the App? Are we then dependent upon the shared permissions on the target report, or will it not work at all?

Question: I am creating a power bi project with multiple pages. Each page contains multiple visuals (bar charts, line charts etc.). I am calling these my sources. I have also created many pages with detailed matrix information (these are my targets). I have watched the videos on drill through and cross drilling. When I am on a source video and right click so that I can drill through to my target, because I have built many target pages (which are hidden to the end user), I see ALL the target pages that are available. What I would like is to create a one-to-one relationship between the source visual and the target page that is associated with that visual and not a list of all targets that I am currently seeing. Is it possible to create this one-to-one relationship between the source and the target?

    Hi Patrick,
Nice video as always. I had been looking forward to this functionality for some time and in principle it does exactly what it says. However when using a live connection the target report doesn´t refresh the data. So the filter are passed through, only the data are not being filtered accordingly. The user needs to manually refresh the data for the filtering to actually take place. The Power BI support team indicated that cross report drillthrough is not supported for live connections, but I find that very hard to believe. Can you confirm if this is indeed the case? If so, does it matter if I work on a multidimensional model or tabular? We´re still working on OLAP cubes, but this might be yet another good reason to migrate to tabular. Please let me know if you know anything more about this!
    Kind regards,
    Guust

How do I click “chart 1” then “chart 2” in the same report and NOT have chart 1 data change?

Not sure if I understand your question right, but if I do, then EDIT INTERACTIONS should help you with that. Go to the FORMAT tab (once you have selected the visual in question), and toggle EDIT INTERACTIONS on. Then, on the visual you have selected, choose the STOP sign icon at the top right corner.

Does this works with an report published in a web page?

I tested it with Publish to Web and Secure and embed and it did not work in either. Now, whether it works in a true embedding scenario I have not tested that.

Yes it is supported. However, you can have drill-through as an additional custom command. Check out this link github.com/Microsoft/PowerBI-JavaScript/wiki/Commands.
