  • Baby Ivy is only ~3 weeks old but she's ready to meet her great grandma! I spent a lot of time with my grandmother growing up and she lives in the same place so it's interesting to bring baby Ivy to where I have so many childhood memories.

      I liked seeing them together. Wasn't sure if I'd ever have a baby and seeing her hold Ivy brought it full circle

    so proud of you Stacy. You get to drive and you never gave up. Jack is sitting on the seat because he is watching over baby Ivy

      I like to think so. He does peek in there a bunch

    That southern dialect is so noticable around great grandma! I know a few people have said this but i think it's pretty cool :) it's so cool to see you guys visiting with her. Hope you enjoyed yourselves introducing Ivy.

      Yeah, it gets stronger and stronger the more time I spend with her and with my mom.

    That is one beautiful baby girl. So happy to see that Stacy is feeling better. Jake has to sit on the seat and keep his little sister safe. Lol

    so sweet watching your Grandma hold Ivy :) ..... and the CRICKET DOLL!!!!.....I remember those....I had on too...now that's a throw back (Cricket doll I mean lol )

      Every time I walk into her house it's nostalgia everywhere I look, but that Cricket doll... I had so much fun with her. I'll get Erik to repair it at some point

    Hello Stacy,
    You mentioned that Erik is never on time, most Hispanics (not all) are casually late to places. As far as our family, if we're invited to parties, weddings, baby showers and the like, we'll be at least one hour late.
    It's beautiful to see how much love Ivy Lucia gets from her great grandma.
    I would love to see a picture of all four generations. :-)
    Thank you for sharing!!

      @GettingThereNC  Před 7 lety +2

      It's like Erik. His accent gets thicker when he's around his family. Ivy really is getting exposure to two different worlds

    Stacie's southern accent really comes out around great grandma :) So cute! There's mirrors you can put so you can see Ivy's face for sure.

    • @GettingThereNC
      @GettingThereNC  Před 7 lety

      I'm ordering some mirrors because I want to keep an eye on her while driving. It does scare me a bit that I can't see anything

    • @LivingAble
      @LivingAble Před 7 lety

      I know it's a bit different since she is so far away since you need room for your chair. An idea also might be to buy one of those monitors you can see her face and just use that in the car? Clip th one part to her seat and the other part up front with you. Might be even easier than a mirror since it's a third row instead of second.

    Awee how sweet! This was a fun vlog! Lol at Jake slobbering on your seat and the edit! It was very interesting to see the controls on your car and how it works. I love how Jake explored great grandmas house! How sweet your grandma is and what you said about her house afterwards. The boppy and baby ...too cute! Do you think Ivy will keep those blue eyes? I do! Mine had dark blue right now too. Also this was the first time I drove since December, haha so surreal seeing your vlogs and then doing the same exact thing! Lol!

    • @GettingThereNC
      @GettingThereNC  Před 7 lety +2

      It feels GREAT to be driving again. It's neat to say that to someone who knows EXACTLY what I'm talking about as you mentioned you restarted driving recently too. Erik has dark brown eyes and I have blue eyes so I don't think she'll keep those blue eyes, but maybe green, which I know is more common when parents have blue and brown eyes. Still, there's a chance

    • @ValentinaMitchell1
      @ValentinaMitchell1 Před 7 lety

      Getting There it does feel great to be driving. I drove to target but only to get baby essentials lol. I think she'll keep the blue eyes but your right about green too didn't think of that. She's just so adorable! Hope your feeling better each day from the c section!

    I am twenty years old, I have a neomuscular disorder & I have never drove & I would love too. After seeing your set up, I have hope for myself. I was wondering how do you get started with getting a disability vehicle set up? My fiancé and I absolutely love your videos, very inspirational

    • @GettingThereNC
      @GettingThereNC  Před 5 lety +1

      Hi Ainsley, There are tons of different mods out there. You need an evaluation. Your neurologist should know where to go for this. I will warn you cost is a huge issue...the range is cheap at $1000 to very costly at 100,000+ depending on what you need. My Scott System is at the high end. Your state may help with cost if you need to drive for work via Vocational Rehabilitation (expect a long fight if mods are costly). Some states have loan financing. You can also use PASS if you are on SSI to save for them. www.drivingsystems.com/ScottSystem.html

      Thanks Kathy. I have Charcot-Marie-Tooth 4C. It's a peripheral nerve disease that affects long-distance messages from my brian+spine to the rest of my body. The farther something is the harder it is to get it to respond. This means that wiggling my toes is a lot more difficult than bending my knee.
