R32 bumper on an ED30 is a no from me. Much prefer the stock rear end of an edition 30 as it's unique to the 30s and the Pirellis

My old car, do miss this old girl, purchased this of a German guy who only ever let Volkswagen work on it so full main dealer history, did a fair amount of work on this car myself, timing belt water pump and timing chain, wheel spacers, induction kit and exhaust and sold it to a friend who took it to 320bhp, one of the last edition 30’s built and what a car it was and looks like still is.
stage2? I have one also, currently on stage 2 with 328 HP and 448 Nm torgue, thinking about reliabity, I will keep it on this stage 1 year and put it back to stock....

ooo there's the 'dsg isn't a drivers car' shout haha. I've just bought a cupra 280 dsg and its unreal, hands down beats the manual, and yes it's still a drivers car!
So many manual fanboys say this its laughable
@Brendan yeah mate it’s proper Laughable all little gay fan boys shouting about how manual is better and they think there gods for driving them 😂 when in reality semi auto is the way foward less likely too breakdown much faster better on fuel and less stressful it’s a win win situation all these manual boys are just jealous they can’t afford the auto version cos there higher priced argh jealousy 😂
Yes a dsg is faster but a lot easier. On a track doing heel toe while downshifting is so much more satisfiying. It's just what you like and each to their own. If you're all about lap times dsg is better, if you are about experience and feel for a car manual is better. Do like downshifting with a dsg and how fast it responds.
For the record I have an S3 manual aswell, about 340bhp. I can drive it one handed, I need both hands on the wheel for the Cupra, granted it’s 370bhp but it is absolutely bonkers. First DSG and can safely say it is 100% a drivers car.
@@brendan1048 the s3 is 4x4? I have a 300+hp fiesta and if you drive it with one hand you will be in the wall in no time. Friends 500hp golf r dsg is so easy to drive on track while mine is a battle😊 the r is obviously faster. Both have their advantages. Mine doesn't cost a fortune if the gearbox blows😉
It’s like my B5 RS4 not many people know how quick they are as it’s a 20 year old Audi estate tuned with 496hp and 702nm torque. Also handling mods too

I love the golf GTI Mk5. Are we just marketing lead with the addition 30? Also the 200 - 230 BHP is enough for a car that is front wheel drive Of a certain age It’s like Jeremy Clarkson said you can have a Thousand horsepower in a car but if you can’t lay down there’s no point and l have to agree as you can see in the video he’s struggling to lay it down and that take the fun out of the car. Keep it stranded less headaches also l love a DSG gear as much as a manual it’s down to the individual don’t let anyone tell you what’s best 👍🏾😎
100% the car has a set of spacers fitted. I’d say 12 front and 15 rear.

@@aaronnewcombe9184 I ran 12mm all round on my old edition 30 and it was perfect. I found 15’s on the rear just a bit too much for the height the car was at.

Surely this is just a standard stage 1 map with a filter.. thought the decat made it stage 2. In which case it would be 350-360bhp right..

The Edition 30 and Pirelli Edition are the Mark 5 models that are highly sought after having the better engine and bigger K04 turbo as standard.

What clutch do I need if I decide on going for a K04 swap in a manual standard mk5 gti ? Looking for 320-340hp and 380-400ft/lb 'ish torque
@VAGabond DQ250 can hold this without issues, but DMF ye... I have OEM DMF as backup for my stage2, because I expecting failure of it, as I consider it as weak point. for your information edtion 30 has K04 in place already ;)

The Revo induction kit is the preferred option for the TFSI engine rather than the Ramair. Also on this car if it has an uprated fuel pump and a full BCS this car should be at stage 2+. With the K04 turbo the power output should be higher.

It still performs like it's 230PS - the air may be adding some response but it's not 330bhp.

Once DSG is mapped ( TVS) in manual mode you can drive it the same as a manual but with the added bonus of keeping both hands on the wheel. Lovely looking car 🚙 👌
How is it only doing 320 at stage 2? U can get a ed30 to 310 with just a stage 1 map
Might of capped it if the clutch is weak

In this summer I have stage 4 gti
Get a second hand k04 kit or something like the bbt360 along with 2+ mods and some other bits. The BWA engine can safely handle roughly 350 bhp and 350 ft lb, and most likely will still be cheaper than an edition 30 also more content for the channel.
Have the ed30 the LSD or not and same question for gti standard ???

It's all down to traction so get a proper remap done. Pops and bangs lose power too

Nah..it's Dsg for me.. .. If you master how to down gear using steering wheel flap paddle whist pushing gas, flips acceleration on a DSG into a highly responsive performance mode, which is more than fun and very reactive .. And I used to swear by manual.. 🤔
Brilliant cars!! I've owned mk7 r, gti, c63, a45 and s3 8v, I got myself a mk5 gti rtech tunned pushing 342BHP and I love it. And ofc it's dsg.
Are they really worth 3-4 grand more than a nice spec Gti though? I don’t think so
the ED30 were affordable back in 2017-2018 at around 4-5K for a good one but now a decent one isn't worth 4K more because the same mods and turbo plus mapping can be done to the regular MK5 GTI cheaper including buying one
depends how you look at it, they are if you want the rarer car that's going up in value.
I changed hardware to match an stage 2+ edition 30 and easily cost me 5K to do it!
Stock turbos max out at 290ish. These can hit 380 easily so worth the extra money for tuneability.
If you want 320bhp+ then yes it's worth starting with the bigger turbo'd car. If you are happy with 260bhp then the standard car will do.

Yea change the standard ko4 turbo to a hybrid , like a venom or a tte and on stock internals it will make 480 , you need to change the low pressure fuel pump under the back seat to

Yeh 480 standard bottom end is a ticking time bomb very ambitious. 420-430 reliable ish plus you need bigger injectors bigger intercooler lower pressure pump it’s not just the turbo you need next thing your £4K deep into it.
A mechanical LSD & better tires would do this car a world of difference!
Mines R-tech stage 1 @315bhp got dsg and prefer it, bearing in mind dsg also has 2 manual modes. I've had 2 ramair intakes on previous golfs and wouldn't recommend them. Go for the Revo for flow and engine bay looks 👍

ye, original ist da best... BYD power, eibach suspension is enough and wrap is sad part, I got one in stock , just did stage2 but no modification in ext. or inter. including suspension... currently on 326hp and 446 Nm around

is that a private plate never seen one on an 09 , only made o7 i thought and the 08 were german imports with no number . i have an o7 ed 30 its a numbered car, i use to own an 08 ed 30 that wasnt numbered and all bookpacks were german etc. logbooks say edition 30 . just wondering

I'm trying not to be a hater so bad, but bro wants to wrap it and put it on air. He doesn't even rev match down shift, or use more than half the RPM when accelerating. Has owned it a month and never been on a B Road, and complained about B roads to pick it up......... Clown behaviour. The night I got mine, I went out driving, whenever I have the option to take B roads not Motorways I do, I bloody love my GTI. What's the point in having 320hp if you don't even drive properly....
