  • You're in the process of acquiring an aircraft. You've found a promising candidate, but the prebuy reveals some issues. Mike Busch discusses whether to buy the aircraft anyway or to walk away from the deal? Mechanics often joke that there is no such thing as an "airworthy" aircraft, because it's always possible to find something wrong if you look hard enough. Mike Busch explores the real-world meaning of "airworthy." SavvyAviation offers Professional Maintenance Services to owners of General Aviation aircraft, such as: Savvy Mx (Professional Maintenance Management), Savvy QA (Expert Consulting), Savvy Prebuy, SavvyAnalysis (Engine Data Analysis) and Sporty's/Savvy Breakdown Assistance. For more information, visit us at savvyaviation.com. This webinar was hosted by the Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) on 3 May 2017.

Once you get to 20 minutes, and there is a reverb like the school auditorium, someone should have made an adjustment.

On the airframe time.... being an aircraft mechanic myself, how does the flight of the aircraft either more or less in a high corrosion environment effect the airframe as far as serviceability. Just curious how flying it will reduce its susceptibility to corrosion in the future. I understand loading the airframe through cycles having an effect. Does more airframe hours per year in a high corrosion environment assume it is being inspected for corrosion and corrected on the spot more often before it has a chance to spread or is there something else that flying it assumes.?

What are your thoughts on a continental 0-200-A? It’s in my 1974 Cessna 150m. TT 5200. SMOH 1950, SPOH (top end) 500. High compression in all cylinders, Borescope check is good...
Runs perfect. It’s over TBO but after listening to your stuff, sounds like I might be ok for another 1000 hours!

HI, It's been a year since your comment and I'm wondering what you did with the O-200? How is it doing?

If you want a perfect aircraft buy a new one, as long as it's not a Boeing 737 or de Havilland Comet :)

Why would you want to get rid of the ADS-B system?
