- Next up in the series of good deals on airplanes is this basic, but sweet little RV-6. This fully aerobatic 2 seat experimental airplane is from Van's aircraft, the creator of the most notable lineup of homebuilt airplanes on the market.
There are a wide range of prices in the market for these airplanes, this struck me as a great price given the specs of this little "fighter plane".
In this airplane you could either do aerobatics for days, or efficiently cruise across the country at 190 mph.

I don’t exactly have experience in the RV, but I know they have a huge community. Im pretty confident you’d be just fine, but would recommend asking the RV community specifically!
I'm 5'11 and fit fine, really depends on the height of the seat cushion

RV-6 is great airplane, but that color makes it invisible in the air.
Seems like a nice bird, but I don’t think comparison to a 150 is realistic. The only similarity is 2 seats.
And price…I’ve seen 150s for sale for $50K! Blows my mind.
@@MyTimeToFly yeah! I remember passing up a chance to buy a 150 for $15k a long time ago. If I knew then what I know now…
I feel your pain!
The other problem is getting hull insurance which could get easily on a 150 not so easy on a experimental RV. They usually require get a few hours from a CFI who has 10 hours in the type you want something like that never looked into it just heard about it.
Most insurance does require you to fly with a CFI. In general, it’s a good idea. Even if it’s not required.
