  • I RECOMMEND WATCHING MY OTHER VERSION OF THIS VIDEO. I FIXED THE AUDIO PROBLEM MANY WERE COMPLAINING ABOUT, YOU CAN VIEW IT HERE • Wii U NAND-AID Install...
    This video shows how to solder a NAND-AID into a Wii U console with a failing or bad eMMC chip. This is a PERMANENT FIX to repair bricked consoles, consoles with errors: 105-0644, 160-0103, 160-2215, consoles with corrupt data, consoles that won't factory reset, consoles stuck in a factory reset loop as well as consoles that are stuck on the Wii U logo menu or freeze on the menu and finally consoles that freeze or error on updates to games or firmware. While other methods exist that seem to resolve these issues on Wii U Hynix based consoles, the other fixes are only temporary. This is the full installation from start to finish with commentary explaining what I am doing. I hope others wanting to do this repair find this helpful. Also this video and additional resources at my website should allow anyone to complete this repair, including those who have never done a repair like this.

    thank you for making this video. Surprisingly few resources out there for the wii u. Your link to the tutorial isnt quite right but I was able to find it. Any chance youd make a video on dumping the emmc and flashing it to an the card?

      Yeah I apologize for that. CZcams won't let me post links on my own account for some reason. I have to wait until I reach a certain viewership or 3 months pass before I can post the links.

    The component you are getting the 3V3 from is the Q6 Transistor. R10 is the resistor above it. Both are connect by the trace that also has the vias, so shorting to this vias is fine, as they are connected anyway. Transistor is used to turn the 3V3 to the disc drive on.The pin you are solderig to has the static 3V3, which the eMMC is connected to, the mittle pin is going to the Disc drive and the third leg is the signal to turn the drive on, if I remember correctly.

      Thanks for that information. This should make it easier to solder knowing those vias connect to the component.

    Since you saved some WiiUs already, any chance you can do a full video from start to finish with everything? starting with a wiiU with hynix memory, preparing the sd card,files, erasing, etc, doing everything step by step untill the wii U boots from the nand-aid? so far there is no video like that on youtube, just a 6hour long video from a guy that was not able to fix and got errors.

      That would be a long video. Probably close to an hour. Sounds like you want a full tutorial from start to finish. There are plenty of guides online that cover all the steps. The only one missing was a guide to install the NAND-AID which is why I wrote the guide up for that and then made a video showing the soldering. I figured this part is most difficult to follow from a written guide and seeing it in a video makes it significantly easier for someone to learn to do this. I could do a video like that, I will give it some thought and see what I decide. Also to be clear, almost all the consoles I have repaired and I am up to 16 now I have just rebuilt the MLC. Meaning the backup of the original MLC isn't used. This makes it much easier to fix these consoles as you do not have to go in and manually repair data, remove corrupt files/folders by moving them because they cannot be deleted. You don't need to know how to use wupclient/server either or jump through other hoops. I recommend rebuilding because you then start with a fresh installation of the the entire operating system on the Wii U with no data errors. Also in my situation I wasn't repairing these for anyone who wanted previous save data. That being said I repaired 3 of them and restored all data and fixed the corruption just for experience and from that experience if I were to need to install a NAND-AID into my personal Wii U console that I got on launch I wouldn't copy any data. I would rebuild the MLC and start from scratch.

    Will you have a send-in service for those that don’t have the skills to install a NAND-AID

    • @Tzirf
      @Tzirf  Před 3 měsíci

      At this time I have no plans to do that. I also don't think it would be economical or profitable since Wii U consoles is a niche market to begin with and the amount of these consoles that need a NAND-AID are a small number. I imagine many of them have been tossed in the trash as well.

      I apologize for that. I realize there are probably many who cannot hear me in this video, depending on what device they are using to watch this video. Unfortunately I recorded this with the Microphone too low. As you can probably tell I am new to making video and there is much I need to learn.

    I have a question. On the written tutorial you have in the description above you state to use an SD card of the same size as the emmc but on another article on GBA temp it says one may a card that's 8 gig, 32 gig or 64 gig.
    Can i upgrade from 32 gig to 64 gig?

    • @Tzirf
      @Tzirf  Před 4 měsíci

      Yes you can upgrade and use a 64GB Card.

      No. It must be soldered securely into place in order to function.
