I really like that Lady Edith outranks Lady Mary.
Edith sucks
But Mary was stuck up & arrogant. She always ridiculed Edith.
@@OnLifeandLove You are one self righteous ass.......
@@OnLifeandLove Must be why you are still alone....
@@OnLifeandLove The moment YOU put it out there it fair game...
Edith is such a wonderful character and you grow with her. Mary is so......and having Edith finally call her out.
Edith was a vile character…she tried to destroy Mary and thus almost herself. She destroyed two families constantly upending Marigold for her selfish self likely to never tell her. She couldn’t even be happy for Mary when she could be happy for Edith. She whined. She whinged. She complained about how hard her lot was and her being happy was a slap in the face.
Edith had incroyable character development and such a fascinating storyline to follow. The first time I watched Downton Abbey, I didn't care for her but watching a second time, I realized how strongly she grew from having shallow, envious, and hurt personality traits to rising above and evolving traits based around progressive thought, self-assurance, and work ethic. 🙏🏻
....... Hurt personality traits.. She was basically put on the backburner because she's a middle child always forgotten and less thought of. And it doesn't help to have a cold and callous bitch of an older sister. How the fuck would you feel if you were treated like that or thought less of? I'm just glad she wasike fuck everyone and I'mma do what makes ME happy and she showed them in the end. Thanks for underestimating me..
What I loved was when Edith finally let rip at Mary at said what a lot of us had been shouting at the screen!
Edith was the one who deserved the rip. After attempting to destroy Mary and thus herself, after destroying two families and being a selfish, whining little moo she deserved nothing but ruin.
After binge watching all the episodes the most emotional thing was Sybils death. I cried for a few minutes. It was definitely moving.
Loved Lady Edith. ☺️ I knew Bertie would come back to her. 💖💖 Show makes you cry and laugh at the same time. Wish they would make more.
Lady Edith is the most well defined character study of all. From having always been in third place and negligible she forged a career for herself, from having been the least attractive of the sisters she found love, not only once but twice, from simply being an ornament like Lady Mary, she has unfurled her petals, forged a path in a new profession for women and made something so very worthwhile of a life that evolved to women winning the right to vote, the right to own property and the right to fly to the moon if they want to. And on top of it all, she
married the man she loved, and won a title that placed her higher in nobility than her own family.
Yes! 👏👏👏👏👏❤❤❤
I never really cared for Edith but I really felt sorry for her in some episodes. Mary will forever be my favourite
Edith was my favorite from day one. Could not be a fan of Mary.
She showed them! 🥰
@@dee8714 same. I always thought she was prettiest
I cried so much. I didn't want to say goodbye to the Crawleys.
Love Downton Abbey so much ❤️💐
I love Downton Abbey and I am absolutely a fan watch them every weekend
I so much love that Edith is happy finally
She didn’t deserve it.
@@Jacksjarofdirt123 yes she did! She made huge and terrible mistakes in the past but she grew so much as a character and she went through a lot. She deserved every bit of it.
I’m so happy Edith found happiness after so long of getting pushed around by marry and getting neglected and with the marengold situation she finally found happiness and out ranked marry I was happy Mary got what she deserved for everything she did to Edith
Mary was a nightmare from the first moment. Team Edith.
I have been so proud of Lady Edith !! 🌹
Simply lovely. Thank you.
Downton Abbey was not just a show but an institution.
Dude on the right should have explained that whole “last episode” bit to the writers of GOT.
"Dude on the right" is Julian Fellowes, the creator and writer of the entire series.
Yeah those two owe a good ending to their fans
Edith Will Never Be Second Best To Mary Shes Always First In Our Eyes
Mary was a stuck up witch. never could understand why she had so many suitors.
Edith was a vile little cow who destroyed two families so she could treat Marigold like a doll. Mary could at least be happy for Edith before she was jilted unlike when Mary married Matthew. She whined about everything and deserved nothing but ruin.
Your last episode only left me wanting more !
I think the saddest thing ever was him ending the story. How do they survive the market crash of 1930? This could have created an amazing story line for the Crawly’s
Edith & Bertie ❤️...
Perfect cast for Bertie pelham character.. Harry Haddon Patton was perfect for potraited Bertie pelham, decent, nice, wonderful man...i loved his accent...i loved the happy ending for Edith, she finally found her match..
Her match was Michael but not for the writers.
The romances are the best part of Downton, Robert and Cora, Mary with Matthew and now Henry, Edith with Bertie and "downstairs" Anna and Bates, Carson and Mrs Hughes now Mrs Carson if course, Daisy and Andy ect, wonder if they will do a second film
A series about the younger Robert and Cora would be wonderful.
With sisters like Mary.......
I own the boxed set of Miss Marple with Joan Hickson. I should probably have Downton too. These shows have gotten me through nine weeks of isolation. Stress free TV.
I loved Edith's wedding dress. I didn't like Mary's dress though, but, I loved Edith's. :D
Love Lady Edith.
And I admire Bertie even More for taking on a ilagiamat child on and it Proved that he did loved her and her own family could have thrown her out but they didn't
Illegitimate
@@Roberta_Trevino ....anyone reading Mr Cook's comment would have realised that his English was not perfect, yet you took the opportunity to correct him without any tact, as if you were some sniffy guardian of the English language. Shame on you.
@@2eleven48 I had to read it like 3 times to figure out he meant illegitimate. I didn't correct the rest of his English cause it was still very understandable. I don't feel ashamed and I don't understand why you instinctively assume I had negative intentions cause I corrected a single word.
It sounds like you should work on not being offended by strangers on the internet, especially when they didn't say anything offensive and especially since they didn't even talk to you.
@@Roberta_Trevino ...Did I not mention tact? There are ways to point out an error, rather than just plonking the correct spelling down. Actually, I also had some confusion with the word on reading it, but in my case I felt touched by the gentleman's mangled attempt.
As to your second paragraph, the comment section acts as a forum, where anyone can participate, as you should know.
And, excuse me for making this point, don't you rather think that 'like' in your first sentence was redundant?
@@2eleven48 So you'd agree with me that a person who was less intelligent than you would find my clarification helpful and that it's thanks to my comment that they can properly appreciate the man's remark on Bertie free of the silly confusion created by a misspelled word.
Brilliant writing. Intelligently introducing the different personality types that we all deal with but are personally too close to observe objectively.
Bertie Pelham is like a tribute to PG Wodehouse ❤️
I felt like these folks are like a second family!……beautiful written and staged and acted!!!!
Man is a genius.
I liked Edith from the beginning. Mary was always belittling Edith and she was so different from the two other sisters especially in looks. No wonder she was resentful and spiteful at times. By the fifth season, Edith had so much grace, charm and inner beauty.
PLEASE UPLOAD CHARACTER DOCUMENTARIES OF MR BATES, MR CARSON AND LADY SYBIL FROM DOWNTON ABBEY.
😭💕
Everyone who wishes for this character’s happiness clearly like to forget the unhappiness she caused to two families so she could upend Marigold and likely never tell her of her real parents. Edith whined and complained constantly and couldn’t be nice to anyone. She called Sybil fat for no reason and couldn’t even wish Mary well on her wedding day yet Mary did wish her well. She brought on her own unhappiness and I wish she stayed that way.
There is nothing redeeming about Mary,
There are a few things. Her love for her children and Mathew, her friendship and loyalty towards Anna and Bates. Her love and respect towards Carson. Every person in the show is flawed which is why I love the show so much. They all make mistakes.
You may not like Mary but that's okay. Each person relates to the characters they like most.
Except that she knows her flaws, which is not common among flawed people.
Disagree. She is a strong woman in an era when they had very little say in things. She understood her flaws very well and tried to work on them.
She put poor Matthew through hell and then he dies.
Wish they would show Tom's confrontation and take down of Mary after she screwed up Bertie and Edith's engagement announcement!!!!!!!!😁☺️
I hope Marigold doesn’t receive the same treatment from Lady Mary the way Lady Edit receives it.
:)...imagine that! Happily ever after with a Moral Upstanding Kind Handsome Man...who really Loves and you both want to Marry! Hmmmm....could it be? lol
Two bottles of what?
Corona
@@azabujuban-hito8085 No, it sounds like "coreeda".
Karl Delavigne. I think he refers to Corrida de Toro, a kind of sangria.
@@EmmelineSama How very recondite.
But there was no reason Grandmama could not haven't flown in
I feel nothing.
