I'm not a Craig button fan but he's right on the "button" on this like Tocchet. Canucks just didn't have enough will on the boards and really having difficult moving puck into the Oilers zone, whereas the Oilers move into Canucks zone with no problem.
I agree 100%. Ever since Button famously announced Leafs in 3, he lost all my respect. You don’t disregard an NHL team and its fanbase like that (especially a proud organization like Montreal) c’mon Craig you were a GM for goodness sake, you KNOW that’s bulletin board material. As for the Canucks, you’re right, they can’t just hope that around 20 shots a game is going to take Edmonton down. You can’t play Edmonton the way you played Nashville, adjust. Just putting it out there from an Oilers fan.
They played absolutely their worst game of the playoffs and still almost won

Series is tied and it's a lot closer to 3-1 Van than 3-1 Edmonton based on how the games have gone. It's not my fault the Oilers haven't been able to find decent goaltender for 20 years.

Pettersen has been an empty suit and should be stripped of his "A", he's shown no leadership skills, let alone any will to get into the fight. They should give the "A" to Garland or Brock. They should have waited on his contract until after the post season. I'd have preferred paying less money for another Miller or Lindholm, and keeping Lindholm, Big Z and Joshua. EP40 just is not built for the playoffs.
I don't care how much he makes I would bench him. He's useless put somebody out there that actually wants to play. Maybe he's got money on the game

This is a close series, but in a lot of cases, it's close because the Canucks much better goaltending than the Oilers. Obviously, when McDavid and Draisaitl are playing half of the game, they're going to get their chances and the Canucks aren't as much, but they didn't get a chance to play their offensive game until the 3rd period and it came down to a shot where Silovs was screened and couldn't see the puck. If Draisaitl wanted to criticize someone on the Canucks, goaltending was a stupid place to go. Silovs has been great. It's the rest of the team who have been up and down in their play and if you can't score more than a couple of goals in a game, you're probably not going to win the way the game is called and played today, especially not against the Oilers. The sky isn't falling for either team and there shouldn't be too much panic, but they have to pick it up.
Zadorov was barely as physical as usual. I'm guessing he got the message from the league that he'll be suspended if he lays a finger on the golden boy.

Uhh, the team is driven by Americans. Miller, Hughes, Boeser, Garland, Joshua. The Alien is not pulling his weight and certainly not living up to his contract. It is what it is. If the Alien is injured, he needs to give up his spot to a Podkolzin whom, going by history, is a playoff beast (at least in Russia anyway) we can't afford passengers, or timid players like the Alien. Every Player, Oiler or Canucks is banged up, it's players like Miller or Boeser that put everything on the line rather than going purely off skill.
