Supercharged 4x4 Squarebody Off Road Winch Fabrication! - Lifted Chevy K10 Ep. 5

- The LT swapped supercharged K10 squarebody is getting a facelift today as we fabricate some heavy duty off road bumpers to mount our 17,000 lbs winch to! But before we get into all that cutting and welding, we're getting our transfer case bolted in so that this Chevy will have 4x4 action, and cutting into our cab to get the proper through on our shifter. We're also getting all of our cooling system mounted and hosed, including our extra reservoir for our supercharger intercooler! We also got a special delivery from the Post Office too! Mikey is unwrapping our KMC bead lock wheels, then getting them re-wrapped with some 40" Mikey Thompson tires over with our friends at Dixie Tire Auto Tech! With the cooling set, and our K10 sitting on some new rubber, we start bending some tubes so we can create a mount for our 17,000 lbs winch. And we're not stopping there. Because once we finish beefing up our front bumpers, we're creating a sleek, yet industrial looking rear bumper using the original bumper this truck rolled in with as a base!
When it's all said and done, this truck is once step closer to hitting the trails. And next week we're fabricating a custom roll bar and rear tire mount for this lifted truck. We're also getting to work fitting in the 7.3L Godzilla motor into our '65 Lincoln Continental. So make sure to subscribe so you don't miss any of this action! - Auta a dopravní prostředky
Looks great! Lover the wheels! You should put in a small compressor for when he deflates the tires when crawling, so he can refill before he drives home.
This is a great recommendation
Awesome idea! We might have a space right behind our spare tire mount on the roll bar we're making for next week's episode!
I don’t know any other CZcamsr putting out these quality builds , it’s insane. Just imagine what these guys will bring to the table when more subscribers join and get funded for bigger projects, literally can’t wait to see what you guys have stored for us.
Man that’s means a lot to us! We ALL take lots of pride in what we’re doing. Let’s hope we continue to grow the channel soon.
I don't think funding is a problem for these guys. Just a quick glance at the shop and all those high tools used.
@@stevenanderson6658 I never said funding was a problem, that’s money being used from there expense , not CZcams’s revenue.
Dude the weld/fabricating that comes out of this shop is crazy. I am not going to lie, at first i could not believe u guys were using the c channel back bumper but damn that came out clean af! Trust the process 👌
The customer requested that it retained a lot of the same aesthetic that it rolled into the shop with. So when we wanted to redo the re bumper, we had to think of a way to make it fit the same style that it had. And what better way to do that than to utilize what came on it!
You guys are awesome the quality work y’all put into these builds is INCREDIBLE AND AMAZING! Much love guys !
Thanks so much! The support really means a lot!
One word! Awesome! Thanks Andrew, Dave and Mike your attention to details and fabrication skills are amazing.
The KMC wheels are perfect for this build!
Thanks for watching! We're loving that you're loving the build!
Just the care and quality you guys put into every task really sets you apart. The glovebox door for example. Using dimple dies to help with some air flow. Excellent. It looks good and does the job. A little bit of time and pride in your work really shows through at the end of the day.
Thank you so much! It really means a ton to us when y'all appreciate the work we put in here!
Wow you got the everything covered those little details is what counts
Thanks so much for noticing!
Another killer build! You guys have got some top shelf skills, equipment and vision!
Thanks so much!
Great work guys (as usual), love how the bumpers match, not a lot of people would think of that; they'd get some 'after market' ones, slap them on & call it a day, weather they matched or not!
Appreciate that, definitely a lot of thought goes into every last detail. That’s why I don’t sleep a whole lot 🤪
Bro, that bumper fab work is on point
Much appreciated!!
Really awesome fabrication work! Looking forward to seeing the progress of this build 💪🏻
Thank you! We're really stoked with how this project is turning out!
Just stumbled onto your site really great job fabrication was outstanding and the filming and editing are out of this world. Keep it up guys.
Wow, thank you! We really appreciate the support!
Ty once again reeling me in with that winch 🔥🔥🔥🔥💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽💪🏽
Glad you like it!!
You Guys Are Killing It!! Love the ol squares and you have built one that will certainly stand proud I think like a modern Fall Guy would build it!! Lee Majors would be proud!!
We really appreciate the support!
that's one badass rig, can't wait to hear this puppy start up!
Thank you! We're one step closer to gettin it down the road!
Very nicely done. I’m envious of the fabrication skills, they are impressive.
Thank you very much! It's just a lot of practice and patience!
I'm a ford guy.....but that is an extremely well built chev you have going. Nice!!
Thank you!!
Once again great job and all custom made! I love that!
Thank you very much!
That winch platform would make a great extra seat for the mother-in-law
oh for sure! lol
Led Lights integrated on both Bumpers will look good
Oh definitely! But we're also throwing some KC lights up on our roll bar that we're making next episode!
Awesomeness is dripping off this rig.
We're stoked that you like it too!
Beautiful bumpers!
Thank you!
awesome job as usual my friends keep it coming!
Thank you! We will!
Insane build!!!
Thank you so much!
@@SalvagetoSavage No problem! Y'all put in a lot of work on those builds and I am always amazed!
Love the resto mod stuff on these model trucks.
Glad you like them!
Awesome squarebody :)
Thank you!
Awesome 👌 job, love your videos!
Glad you like them!
Looks good. 2 suggestions tho for the wench reinforce the hell out of the bolt n mouth points. Out wheeling iv actually seen a wench rip off of a truck like this and 2nd those reservoirs n the rear make a rock slider for them so if he goes over a big rock or drop n slams down it doesn't hit the reservoir. Seen that happen too. We moved my buddies from the outside like that into the inside to keep it from happening again. Nothing sucks worse then busted shock/reservoir while on the trails
Thanks for the tips! We'll definitely look into reinforcing that winch more!
Nice work on the bumper boys. That truck is really tall now with those big tyres. Your fab work as usual 👌
Thank you my friend!
I love y’all channel crazy builds
Thanks so much!
Nice work!!
Thank you! Cheers!
Just loving it. Can't wait for the next drop.
Glad you're liking the build!
Love the split bumper, but I really wish the driver side would have gotten fixed with a plate too instead of leaving that slope L plate. I can't unsee it lol. Amazing build though!
Maybe we'll go back in there and do a little more nipping and tucking! lol Thanks for the support! We're glad you like the content!
I wasn’t going to say anything this time, but those bumpers rocked the 💩 out it! What an outstanding idea!
Thanks!
I definitely hope that you guys end up building a really nice triple roll bar for the truck!! I built a triple roll bar for a 1972 Chevy short box that I had in high school!!! I built my triple roll bar when I was in high school and have tons of people wanting to buy it from me every time someone sees it!!! Mine is a triple hoops with dual kickers and I had it powder coated in a gray color!! I’ve had it for over 25 years now and absolutely love it and it also looks really good also instead of the single hoop or double hooped roll bars do!!
It's not going to be a triple but it will be close in design!
the truck looks great! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩 the wheels are amazing… but can we talk about this bumper? dave killed it! 🙌🏽🙌🏽
Dave is truly an auto wizard!
Killing it as always.
We really appreciate the support!
I wanna see the customers face when he sees the final product. 🔥
We're excited for him to drive this thing and it aint even finished yet!
awesome content
Thank you!!
If I were you guys id certainly change the front winch mount (looks and reinforcement). Winches are insane and need a massive amount of reinforcement. Look up projectfarms newer video with 12k winches and you'll see how easily they can bend their mounting plates. Other then that id say everything looks good to me!
Thanks for the input! We'll definitely take a look and take that into consideration!
@@SalvagetoSavage Of course! id try to stay with sqaure looks because of it being a sqaurebody. Dont get me wrong your guys pipe idea is good strength wise. Maybe copy the rear bumper and use some C channel as its strong and sqaure.
I’m not jumping on a dead horse, but I’ll add that winches work best with feet facing forward (if possible, not the end of the world) Nice work guys! And thank you for using a good size rim and not no Brodozer 26” or something :)
Thanks! This truck is going to be running through the mountains so we're not trying to build a pavement princess here!
Killer build guys. Very sick truck. Not sure about those bumpers though, don't really do it justice
The owner wanted to retain some of the parts that the truck came in with! The industrial bumpers being one of them!
I hope you add more gusseting to that winch bumper.
You guys Rock. Love the video. Excited to see a new Chevelle video soon I hope
We got it coming! We knocked out most of the fab work and really exciting video topics already so getting enough content right now to make a full video on it is taking a while!
@@SalvagetoSavage awesome I'll be happy to watch when it comes out. The quality of your work and videos is worth the wait
CZcams algorithm made your vids disappear for me again 🙈. I generally don't have the bell on for any channel since I don't want to be too much of a YT addict... Anyway, I'm catching up on all that I've missed out on! Love your builds guys. Much love
The good thing about CZcams is the videos will always here! Thanks for remembering us and hope it was fun binging on the episodes while catching up!
I am going to miss the pizza cutters but the Mickey Thompson tires are sweet! 😁
The guniwheels will be back for other builds! Don't you worry! hahaha
I need that front bumper for my square body blazer
Awesome
Thank you!
I love custom bumpers
Thank you!!
Y'all do amazing work. But those open places in the back bumper is just begging for bees or other animals to take up residence.
That way you can always have fresh honey while on the trails! lol
That rear bumper was built for a rear snow plow. The two square tubs that you cut off were used to mount the plow to the truck...
Well now he doesn't have to plow the snow for anyone!
It was actually used for a hydraulic winch (front and back)
Great fab skills, lacking some off road experience. Just my .02 but the back bumper tow hooks are going to be completely useless like that. A better option would be to reinforce the bumper and put clevis mounts on each side and move the tow hitch out to the edge of the center plate so it will also be usable.
Thanks for the feedback!
Great looking truck. Hope they never have to use that 17,000 lb winch, shit could go sideways quick!
This truck will be cool! ... Why? --> Because of all the radiators. Duh! 😂😁😇🤟
Don't forget the fans! lol
Nice build! Are y’all using any rubber isolators for the cooling system? Mishimoto’s like to crack if they are hard mounted.
We'll be putting some isolators in there when everything gets its full final assembly!
That adapter plate for the transfer case doesn't seem like those small Allen head bolts will hold
Do you guys plan to add a brace between the two front shock hoops? One big hit and the leverage on those hoops is just going to fold into the engine. Just one brace bar is pretty standard on a build like that
We will in another episode! We've been waiting on the proper sized die for our tube bender!
@@SalvagetoSavage Heck ya! Juat hadnt seen it yet and as someone who's built a lot of trucks I know what can go bad. Keep up the good stuff
That little glove box door turned out clean. Such a dope truck. Everything has custom mounts. Who makes that round universal plate for the gearbox? That thing is sick. Looks like it would fit lots of applications.
That plate for the transmission case was actually custom made by JC Customs CNC here in West Palm Beach!
@@SalvagetoSavage Hell yeah that thing is cool. I was still watching, but that bull bar winch mount was dope too!! One of my favorite parts on the truck.
Thank you!!!
This truck is sick, those wheels and tyres are 🔥. Are you guys going to fix the right side of the front bumper like you did the left, so it matches? And are you going to fill the holes above the tow hooks on the rear bar so it doesn't fill with water or mud or whatever, and rust out?
Yes! Everything usually gets a final pass through that you may not see on the video because it just doesn't fit in the flow or timeline of how everything was filmed!
What do you guys like about the arch light cnc? And if you could change anything about it what would it be? 🥂
Only thing we like about it is it’s what we have. Lol. I think there are better brands out there like the Lincoln welding table. From what I’ve heard it’s much easier to design and cut with.
✌🤙
Would you not be worried about dirt/mud/water/junk getting flung up into the rear bumper with the holes around the hooks?
Mostly all bumpers aren’t completely solid, but maybe we can use something to close it up.
When you change a k10 from half ton axles to three quarter or one ton axles are you effectively changing it from k10 to k20 or k30?
I believe that is technically the difference, but so much of the truck is changing, that we might as well keep the K10 name! lol
@@SalvagetoSavage my wife thinks you should call it Fred.
The K30 frame is thicker.
Why did you guys go with the chain drive instead of an np205 transfer case? Great build until you guys did the transfer case that will be the weak link and be breaking.
I want to see you guys make a truck that can float across a river. Using steel and or aluminium.
We'll put it on our build list!
Jesse James did that years ago on Monster Garage with a short school bus. That was my all-time favorite build on that show.
I can't believe you called that aluminum chain driven case heavy.
I get its all relative but dang, ever delt with a stronger and heavier cast all gear case? Moving a 205 like that makes you poop a little.
that winch plate will taco itself first time a real load gets put on it
👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍🔥🔥🔥
I think with all the great stuff you guys do, you could’ve at least made a 1 piece shift linkage out of some round stock or something instead of scabbing in a piece to make it longer, just saying.
The shift linkage is purely functional. You can't see it unless you're laying underneath the truck. So if we remade the entire linkage, we'd have to charge the customer for the time and material it would take to create the part. So I think the customer is a lot happier with saving money for something unseen that's just as functional!
Bead locks for the mall parking lots..
Why would this truck be in a mall parking lot?
Bead locks are not a good idea unless you're doing serious off roading alot. Changing that tire is going to become a problem.
Powder coat the bumpers black.
The bumpers will definitely be black
But I thought true bead locks weren’t street legal??
This isn't going to be a daily driven/street truck
Love the build and work but the rims not a fan
It's definitely an acquired taste!
There very nice but some pro comp steels would be 🔥
mall crawler
Thank you!
What happened to Tim?
He hasn't worked here for quite some time
I love this channel and the quality of work you guys do is amazing. But them bumpers gotta go. Yall could build wayyyy cooler ones. No offense
Thank you my man, no offense taken. The front “bumper” was something the customer wanted to keep. So we designed the mount around that as well as the rear bumper. But yes if we had a clean slate and unlimited budget I agree we could do something much better. People seem to forget the cost that goes into building these custom vehicles, so sometimes we need to cut back on things to save some coin.
That front winch bumper is hilarious looking and a joke. That winch will bend that setup. Round bar with no gussets? 😂😂😂😂
Thank you!
That winch and bumper setup just ain't it i guess because the way the ends of the bumper look just looks like someone hacked the center of the bumper off and slapped a winch in the middle 😂 I would of went with a whole different bumper that has a spot for the winch if available would of looked alot cleaner
our customer loved it, can't please everyone I guess.
The customer wanted to keep a similar style and aesthetic to the outside of the car. One of the things he loved about it was the bumpers he sent the truck over with
ew
Thank you!
The cooling system hoses look like something you would buy from autozone.
I don't think auto zone stocks mishimoto products!
What happened to Tim?
He left a while back
