- Took 4 days, a few hours every night after work. I got the carpet for free off a friend, and the aluminum rail too. More will be added soon but a big improvement already.

Big tip for anyone doing this as I have done it myself! Measure 5x cut ONCE!!! You made your boat look great It just needs to be 100% functional as well! Tight lines bud!
Good idea about the aluminum bars and brackets, the issues that you pointed out at the end of the video can all be fixed. Thank you for making and sharing the video.
Thanks for the video! I have a similar boat and i am on a budget... cant do the whole boat and insulate it. This will work great and thank for the price it costed you. Gave me an idea of what i need to spend. Thanks and great video
Glad I found this video. Well done. Good to see all the comments about not using treated lumber on aluminum!
AWESOME! This is exactly what I want to do with my aluminum fishing boat!!! Thank you for the video!!!
Pressure treated plywood reacts with aluminum lol.
Awesome job!! From one 🇨🇦 to another 🇨🇦 Subscribed!
Bro thats awesome! Great job mate!
Great video man! this is perfect because i am looking on what to do on my deck of my boat!
Thank you.
You get an A for effort my boy. Remember the old adage, measure twice and cut once. Good luck.
Can't wait for the function test video on the water

Looks good. Every year after salmon season I redo my 14' valco. Liquid nails works great for the carpet. Just spread it all over the side of the wood where the carpet will go on, Just saying. It's a pain to get that 1st piece cut right to fit into the front of a boat too.
cool man, i did something similar with my boat too. As far as your hatch I just used a couple 2x2s on the sides and it seemed to work to hold my weight. Anyways good luck out there
Others have said it....pressure treated is like acid to aluminum. Use Aztec plastic plywood
Good job!
Just a thought. If you use cardboard and make a template, you can get the plywood to fit perfectly.
Exactly how I did mine!
Nice vid helped me out a lot make more!
Lookin good 👍
Good job
You give me a starting point! thanks
Nearly 500 subs mate
That's awesome! Gives me a reason to keep mine for 1 or two more years. Just curious, why didn't you go longer with the deck to have more room for casting for two people?
Liked and subed
Отличная работа!Только фанеру надо было обработать лаком ,а потом ковролин к ней приклеить водостойким клеем...А так фанера может от воды набухнуть...Успехов!
Not bad. thanks
Instead of pt wood, what are the alternatives out there? What about something like cedar or similar? It has ver good water repelancy..
What did you use as supports for the area between the front of boat to the first bench?
How has that Thompson’s worked so far. Trying to decide between that and paint
Hope you have a 15 hp 2 cycle outboard. Your adding a lot of weight. If you have a 6-8 hp motor it’s probably won’t get on plane.
I have a 9.9 and it's not too bad
You gonna do a follow up vid?
Follow this excellent video my friend
How did you get the shape for the wood marked? I just murdered a piece of plywood
You have to make a template out of any stiff thin material such as cardboard or paneling.
What exactly are those supports that you’re using
What are the measurements ?
I have a 14 foot valco.
Hows stability when standing?
a bit tippy side to side. the 9.9 on the back does balance it out when Im on the front
my boat is 14 ft its realy tippy does putting the deck on make it more stable
How u go
Stability is stamped into the shape of the hull.
Next time use cardboard boxes and make a template then lay that on the plywood
this is scuba duba
treated wood will kill your aluminium.
I just pulled apart a Jon boat from 86. Treated wood against inside of aluminum hull. No signs of corrosion or fatigue.
@@LiLoTech Be careful. There are several different formulas for treating wood. Your experience may be different than someone elses. Not saying it will or won't just sayin...
the treated wood will eat through the Aluminum.
Dont use PT wood with aluminum!
Jeff Gallant 😂
Why?
@@latitude4517 The chemicals in the wood react with the aluminum and will cause it to deteriorate over time...
What about marine grade ?
@@ryanboatright3059 yes fine..
Hahaha broo 😂😂 , hey is good you try 👌
Don't use plywood, it will rot. Use aluminum.
The door on the vatican is made of wood and it is 2,000 years old. Wood has been used since the beginning of boat building as a suitable material. When the all steel Titanic went down the lucky passengers all climbed into little wooden boats and sailed away to safety. The point is that if its done right then wood is fine....if it's done wrong it doesn't matter what material you use....you're going to sink
That looks like chit
Show us yours.
What's the point of this "casting deck" thing on bass boats and similar? You can't just stand on the floor of the boat to fish? You're only gaining a foot or so in height, and obviously increasing the instability of the boat. If you must do something, makes far more sense to just carpet the floor.
i like to use a casting net sometimes for bait and it would be very beneficial
That one foot makes a big difference
It's nice to have a hot woman sitting up there on a pedestal.
@@mikepowell8958 .. Lol. Okay, I completely forgot about this comment. It's been roughly two years and I haven't received any notifications of replies until now. I do have to admit your argument is the strongest yet. Something to look at while waiting for the fish to bite.
You get a much better view in clear water for sight casting and it's easier to cast to both sides of the boat.
where did you get the poles
