Man, haven't visited this channel in close to a year, came here specifically looking for 7R stuff and it's the first two videos that popped up. Groovy.
Great video! Can’t wait for part two. There is still so much more to explore. The entire Midgar Building in the last 3 chapters is amazingly detailed, you can clip (or you could anyway) out of bounds to explore the outside. Hope you show a lot of that because it’s amazing how much detail went into it.
Would love to see how the Shinra building behaves when you explore it. Since the entire map is a single "piece", I wonder how the layout actually looks like from a far off perspective.
I've only played the original Final Fantasy VII for the PlayStation, but it's so great to finally explore what were originally pre-rendered backgrounds that I always had wanted to dive into!
Shesez! You're almost at 1 million!!!! I've been around for many years now, & your channel is still one of my favorites. I remember when you were going through so much loss so quickly, & I am so, so glad that you managed to get past all of that hurt & continue doing what you & the rest of us love. Please, never change, & never give up, because no matter how much burnout takes you, we will always be right here, ready to hear your voice again. Keep it up, Shesez. Your mother & father are definitely so proud of you & are definitely watching over you :)
I wonder how much of Midgar you could stitch together from this game's assets. I'm sure there's a more complete model used for the CGI cutscenes and skyboxes, but even that isn't going to be 100% accurate to the places you actually visit. We only end up visiting about 1/4 of Midgar in both the original and the remake (1-2 sectors on the top plate, 3 on the bottom) so I don't expect there to be anything interesting in the others unless they plan on doing more with Midgar in the next parts.
I know hey. I was so hoping to get more areas like the upper part of the plate you visit in Chapter 4, I enjoyed seeing how the upper suburbia areas looked. Same with the outside of Shinra building, that is insanely detailed despite the fact you can never walk around out there (without glitches).
I’m sure we’ll see more of the city eventually. I’d be very surprised if the Remake games cut out the return to Midgar. So, y’know, look forward to that in like 2035 or whenever Remake Part 3 comes out lol.
I might know why the textures stretch on some of those environments. 3D models need to have their surfaces mapped to 2D textures in a process called "unwrapping", or also sometimes "U.V. mapping" depending on whether you're talking to an artist or a programmer. In this process, each vertex on the model is assigned a 2D coordinate on the texture. Texture coordinates can also extend past the borders of the image. In some graphics frameworks, such as OpenGL, the programmers can set what happens to coordinates outside of the texture's bounds. They can loop around to the other side, get forced back to the edge of the texture, or extend the texture's edge out infinitely, which might be what happened here. Or it could be something else entirely; I have no idea how they made this game.
yeah that seems right. similar to when you extend an image boundaries beyond where it naturally scales it just stretches the color out to the end of the new border like a barcode
Very excited to see this! My first time playing FF was this remake so I'm thrilled to check this out. Appreciate you taking so much time for it, I'm looking forward to more parts!
To me this game does an astounding work at real time cutscenes and an even more impressive work on transitioning back to action gameplay. In one moment you're having full quality models with extreme close-ups and then before you can blink you're back playing and I know that they changed at least the faces to lower quality, but in absolutely no transition I was able to figure out WHEN and HOW it happened, this game is a technical masterpiece, seriously it's an absolute real-time computer graphics marvel Also lipsync is impecable in all languages and all scenes
Whats cool is all the feather imagery with Sephiroth, he only has the wing in the final battle in the crater and Advent children, giving us the clues that he's Sephiroth from after Advent Children, not the current day one, hence knowing how everything plays out like Aerith
The writing on the bullet is probably meant to be "300," written vertically. Remember, Japanese can be written vertically, to be read top to bottom, so writing 300 as 3 0 0 wouldn't be all too surprising or confusing to most of this game's intended audience.
Weird to see how they made a perfectly good illusion with the skybox of the plates above, but completely failed the chapter 6 illusion with the slums below.
Barret's bullets were more likely intended to say 300 than MOO. Would be a reference to the caliber of the bullet as in the 300 Winchester Magnum which is a extremely popular Rifle ammo size preferred for it's superior stopping power and flatter trajectory. Could also be 308 as that is also a caliber size but the footage makes it hard to say.
It's always a fun surprise when you find a pair of hidden eyes! The character close ups are a treat. Watching the cutscenes from a different angle is really cool. It's like you're a bystander. Exciting episode!

I'll like to see an out of bounds video of the original prey and dead space 2. I wonder if the necromorphs gathered around the marker are just flat textures or low poly models. FF7 remake has a lot of good detail to it that we couldn't see otherwise.
Some people ask why I get so close to people's faces. But I'm just trying to break some boundaries. And, uh. See inside their... character models? ...You know what, let's keep that hobby in videogames. Great work!
I wanna play RAID Shadow Legends, but I'm always afraid if I start, I'll come too fast. I don't know if my sensitive nethers can handle the high octane action it promises.
Maybe a stretch but I feel like MOO on barrets rounds is a Halo reference for two reasons: 1) halo has a bunch of stuff hidden on ammo, pretty sure one is a cow or bull? 2) Metropolis in halo 2 has a sign for TTERRAB Industries: that Barret backwards lol. Really hoping we got some Halo fans hiding out in Square-Enix
I understand you had to rush this video out before the ffvii event this week, but I hope part 2 is much longer. There were only a few places looked at here.
2:01 the bullet has a "moo" written on it probably cause if you look carefully it looks like a bottle milk asset actually that they probably convert into a bullet
With regards to Shinra soldiers and Avalanche soldiers having eyes, I wonder if they are just grabbed from the database of NPCs that they've made and they just change their clothes to have uniforms instead. That would explain the eyes being present.
Those curiously high-detail objects - the theater flyer and ID card, for instance - make me think the game was originally intended to have a menu for viewing collectibles or key items.
I would love to see you Boundary Break Xenoblade Chronicles 2. I enjoyed the first one a lot and would undoubtedly enjoy its sequel. I would like to see zoom outs of the titans, a dive under the cloud sea and a zoom out of a certain fight around the World Tree in Chapter 9 (iirc) as it looks like there is a lot loaded at all times especially the aforementioned fight. Love the series keep up the great work Shesez!!
I'll never stop watching your vids asap when I see they're out. You deserve all the views. I can't believe you kept youtube up and consistent even thru one of the worst tragedies you can endure as a human. I love you man. Peace and love to your life
Jesus man. I already thought this game was incredible and detailed, but this is a whole other level of detail I never would have expected. They really went all out on this, just like we all wanted them to. Bravo, square. Bravo.
I’m replaying it now and yesterday I was a Jessie’s house and I thought “I hope there’s a boundary break of this” and then there was. Weird coincidence haha
Pretty surprising/cool that games like FF7R put so much love and care to visual details that players wouldn't notice by normal means such as the fully modeled eyes and cat tongue. Also pretty neat how the cities use real cities as part of the background.
Wait, Tifa's filthy shower explains everything! She's always saying she would kill for a shower! She's just trying to cover for the fact that she never actually showers! I knew it! One of these days she is gonna say that and Aerith is just gonna flip and drag her off to finally give her a proper shower.
Looking at those rats kinda explains why the photo mode they made was so restrictive. If you guys like looking closely at the models though, go check out Outgang on CZcams. She breaks down the models of Cloud and friends in extreme detail.
I wonder if devs have intentionally started putting details into out of bounds things (eg cat tongues you'll never see or Tifa's filthy washroom) knowing that shows like Boundary Break will find them.
Awesome video! Also I really like how you’re making a part 2 and the way you phrased it sounds like you’re talking about the game, cuz it should be getting its part 2 hopefully soon(ish)
I couldn't figure out how the under Midgar skybox worked, and now I realize it's just a conventional skybox. Really impressive, but I have to say what ended up being the bigger surprise was seeing that the city background was an actual photograph. That's just wild, especially that you can still see it all.

Maybe a stretch but I feel like MOO on barrets rounds is a Halo reference for two reasons:
1) halo has a bunch of stuff hidden on ammo, pretty sure one is a cow or bull?
2) Metropolis in halo 2 has a sign for TTERRAB Industries: that Barret backwards lol.
Really hoping we got some Halo fans hiding out in Square-Enix
I understand you had to rush this video out before the ffvii event this week, but I hope part 2 is much longer. There were only a few places looked at here.
No, Cloud! Stop staring into my soul!
Barret's bullets made me imagine every time he shot them, he or his gun would make a moo sound effect.
@8:53 reminds me of a Midgar snow globe! How cool!!
Can't wait for the sequel of this game
1:32 Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.
That is the most realistic looking cat I’ve ever seen in a video game. Honestly better than the cat model from stray
So Barret will have access to the secret cow level 😂
Thanks for showing that
2:01 the bullet has a "moo" written on it probably cause if you look carefully it looks like a bottle milk asset actually that they probably convert into a bullet
With regards to Shinra soldiers and Avalanche soldiers having eyes, I wonder if they are just grabbed from the database of NPCs that they've made and they just change their clothes to have uniforms instead. That would explain the eyes being present.
Dude at 4:50 looks like he's gon’ definitely drop some hypotheticals on a terry’s clavicle
Peace and love to your life
I know dude, all in one week too
5:00 "Hello, Clarice."
Jesus man. I already thought this game was incredible and detailed, but this is a whole other level of detail I never would have expected. They really went all out on this, just like we all wanted them to. Bravo, square. Bravo.
Sephiroths belt emblem appears to be a representation of the "One Wing" that we will eventually see.
I’m replaying it now and yesterday I was a Jessie’s house and I thought “I hope there’s a boundary break of this” and then there was. Weird coincidence haha
Might be an odd connection but Barret's bullet having the word "Moo" might be a slight nod to the secret Cow Level in the original FFVII.
The only thing that ever bugged me is how in-game Cloud's face is so different from cutscene Cloud
That cigar in the shinra president wasn't an out of bounds object.
Canonically the shinra president stores his cigars in his prison pocket.
Already subbed but you earned a like and a comment, my dude. Looking forward to the sequel video
I actually want to know how the midgar express actually works. Once you finish the shinra building, that bike chase is the best!
Awesome video! Also I really like how you’re making a part 2 and the way you phrased it sounds like you’re talking about the game, cuz it should be getting its part 2 hopefully soon(ish)
Mext winter part 2
Pretty wild to see those skydomes, especially the Reactor 1 one. Seeing that tarp there is pretty funny.
I’ve only just recently played this game so when I saw this video pop up I was so excited!! Can’t wait to see more
I couldn't figure out how the under Midgar skybox worked, and now I realize it's just a conventional skybox. Really impressive, but I have to say what ended up being the bigger surprise was seeing that the city background was an actual photograph. That's just wild, especially that you can still see it all.
The director of the game tweeted about that super detailed cat... It's actually his cat! That's why it's so good 🤣
Would love to see a boundary break for Kirby and The Forgotten Land!
Seeing things like this make me think I think I could build triple AAA gaming environments but man it’s incredibly hard
Would love to see true crime streets of NY. On Xbox there's a huuuuge unfinished section of map with some hilarious roads and stuff
2:07 They say moo because they’re “bull-ets” lol
When Tifa says she could really use a shower she means it.
