- Authorities said 21 people were killed in the shooting at Robb Elementary School. The gunman, identified as Salvador Ramos, 18, was also killed.

Maybe after a few decades we finally accept that prayers are just an admission that we prefer guns over kids. Otherwise we'd try cracking down on gun safety, more comprehensive background checks, and universal healthcare so we can start actually addressing this.

Gun laws need to be changed
Teachers and staff should be allowed to concealed carry, u cant stop out evil but u can prepare for it because evil will always find a way, when people want to do harm to others they will always find a way no matter what tool they use to do it. If u dont believe me just look at any prison anywhere, weapons of any sort arnt allowed but somehow inmates find ways and even craft single shot firearms so the only reaction should be better preparations and armed officials at the school and/or other equal precautions in the event that evil should strike again

This just hurts my heart. These kids did nothing to deserve this. I'm so scared for my nieces and nephews that are still in school. I just had a new nephew born last week, and I can't imagine something like this happening to him. God help the families of all the victims.

The best feeling is a feeling of accomplishment.

Someone else says "Why should that guy have so much food?" I deserve to eat just as much as they do.

I actually tuck my daughter out of public school for next semester I thought I made a mistake but I’m working from home and a former teacher now im glad I did it’s not going to be easy but I’ll have some peace of mind while it last.

Texans prayed very hard for their guns to be very accessible, I guess their prayers are answered and now reaping the benefits of having very lax gun laws. It's a trade. By choosing guns, they choose to let go of the lives of their children. Its not rocket science.

That’s how my sons school is his elementary. You have to go through 2 buzzed doors. One to get inside the school and buzzed to get into the office buzzed to get passed the office inside of the halls and were in San Antonio

This not about children only! I live in Philadelphia Pa and gun shots are daily next to my house. Nothing is done to this crap. We have kids too (the future generation of USA) but they can’t go out peacefully without being shaking of fear. This must have an end from roots unless it’s just one day crying and move on. So sorry for those kids our hearts are with you RIP

I don’t have words in the dictionary to express my sorrow and frustration of how things like this happen my condolences and prayers to the parents, I hope the lord will put an end to this senseless loss of innocent lives, I feel sorry for the police and ems that have to respond and deal with this, it’s beyond stress and heartbreaking

@@susant1323 You're right, criminals always find a way. Still, for a country to forbid weapons, is an important signal/level (or what it's called, I'm Swedish).
For us, in Sweden, gun violence is a big problem among gangs. Still our politicians don't legalize weapon as the next right step. That would be a very strange move.
I can't even...My heart is broken for the massive amount of loss. My prayers go out to the families of the victims taken too soon. When is it going to stop? God be with them, carry them and give them the strength to get through this. Why? All I can say is Why??
the real question is how an 18-year-old got enough money to purchase two ARS and 375 rounds of ammunition within two days. that's over 3 grand worth of material.

It's not necessarilly that much. An entry level fast food employee in my area could save that up in three or four months if not paying rent.

Alot of these mass shooters plan out their massacres. Most of the time they include IEDs. Caution is understandable.

I think it’s time to train teachers how to shoot and defend.
That, and provide schools with armed guards, like we protect banks, courts and airports.
It is not a teachers job or responsibility to confront an active shooter. A teachers job is to do everything in his or hers power to protect the children. I have been an active shooter instructor for many years and this is the last thing I would train a teacher to do.
