- It may not be new out but after all the hype and the Mashigan disappearing for a while, it appears to be back for good. As soon as we saw they were available again and got this one. It's been sitting unused for a while now, so we thought it was about time that we got it out and showed it to the world.
Since this, FMS seem to have updated it. In some territories it has a different grille and everywhere now sees it come with a panhard bar.
For the money, it's a bit of a bargain, considering the quality of the hardbody.

We think the Mashigan is going to be a great project rig.
Fusion SE 1200 KV. And it will crawl well and never break.
Certainly not a bad idea. Not tried the 1200.
Mashagin is a solid RC it has a great mix of scale & performance.
Once the servo is changed and there are some actual dampers added, it's got a chance!

I found with mine that when trailing the doors pop open especially the rear and the spare tyres gets caught on obstacles, as a result I have removed the spare, the roof, replaced the shocks with Boom Racing 70mm Kudu coil overs, trimmed down the front bumper and replaced the rear bumper with a smaller one replaced the wheels with metal beadlocks and the tyres and put a Hobbywing 1080 in it, it now crawls beautifully and even keeps up with the other major brands popular rigs.
We wondered about the doors after driving the FJ40 and it happening on that.. Very annoying! How did you solve it?
The shocks are going to be an interesting one as we're converting to leaf springs, so don't want the coils, just some scale dampers.
Wheels are going to be a slight dilemma but any decent, metal beadlock with dual-stages should work. The right scale tyre choice is key to the look, though.
Loads of options for motors/ESCs.
@@rcpie I glued the back door shut, and after a roll over the right hand door hinges had bent slightly and when I pushed it shut it stays shut so I did the same to the other side 😬. Boom Racing also do 70mm internal sprung Kudu shocks
Glue seems like the obvious choice but it might be nice to be able to open the doors for photos with a driver figure.
Maybe something like tackywax would just hold it that bit extra. 🤷🏼
Some sort of mechanical latch might be too obvious.

Fusion se 1200 or 1800kv works well on this platform if going brushless.

@@rcpie Mashigan 1800 and fj40 has 1200kv have both. 2300 fusion pro is overkill from what I've seen.

Jeeps usually have 5 or 7 slots in the grill. During WW2 the Ford built GPs had a 9 slot grill. That is how i would go around the copyright issue. Or get sued by Jeep and Ford!
It's a funny one because companies make unlicensed bodies all the time and no-one seems to care. I'm not sure there's been any definitive information as to what went on with Jeep and FMS but it can't have quite panned out how either side wanted.
Many companies make unlicensed bodies …..I have a number of very close copies of actual bodies with slight differences to make them “not” that brand of body…mostly foreign companies have done this which maybe makes them safe from copy right issues? Seems to me to get a licensed body you end up paying $100-150 more vs a look a like body ….sure it’s cool to have an exact body of a popular vehicle but is it worth the extra cost seeing how the bodies just get beat up anyway?

About £350 or in the US, Amain Hobbies have them for $329.
Al’s Hobbies in the UK had them for £230 before Christmas, bargain.

Hello! I loved the tracker! I have a question. Do fms cars have quality in their electronics, variator, battery? Are these 3 components made to last long gaming sessions? Is fms chinese? Does it have the quality like a Kyosho,axial,traxxas,gmade car? Greetings!

FMS are kind of mid-quality hobby-grade in my opinion. They're good but not the best.
Most companies use third-party electronics and most are a similar quality in ready-to-run cars.
The servo in this is rubbish and the speed controller is not the best but OK until you want to upgrade. You don't get a battery, so you can easily get something good that will last 2-3 hours.
Yes, FMS is Chinese but nearly all RC cars are made in China and that's no reflection on the quality. Every factory can produce great or poor stuff depending on how much the buying company wants to pay.

Since no one has said it yet, "Reals Jeeps have round headlights". LOL. Seeing as how this is not licensed...that doesn't really apply I guess.
YJs have square head lights
Correct. It's just a funny saying in the Jeep communities. The YJ's were built during terrible times for car makers overall...the late 80's to early 90's. The YJ's are just less desireable than the earlier CJ's and later TJ's...both which had round headlights. So it's just a sly side poke at the square headlight Jeeps.
I tried searching for this meme I saw like 10 or 15 years ago. Picture a lifted CJ, rolling on 44's or bigger, tons of flex, built cage, out on a rocky trail. Well this CJ had perched it's front driver tired on top of the hood of a YJ that had caught on fire in some years past and was just left there.
Then the funny writing went like the two Jeeps were talking....
CJ: "Real Jeeps have round headlights."
YJ: "Do not!"
CJ: "DO TOO!!!"
It had to come, didn't it? 🤣
I think 8 years qualifies the rectangle, though!

Perhaps surprisingly, neither of us has witnessed women or men regularly measuring wheelbases. Maybe it's just popular where you're from.
