      @@TheHobbyGrotto I know, that's the only downside but it's so worth the effort. We need the old world wood elves to be like this

    Very cool paint scheme. I am going to copy this, with some modifications, for the Wood elf Blood Bowl team. Thanks for the video mate.

      Thankyou! I was going for a very general scheme here so people could use it for all kinds of Wood Elf things 😊

    Really love how it turned out! Fantastic work! Definitely need to pick up some XV, jeez. I'll need to try mixing with Ushabti bone. I quite like the colour, but I've never tried using it as a highlight. Ditto on not amping up the face highlights- good to know!
    The decision to mix different tones of green was a good one; I agree that it's a nice way to add variety and break up a model without expanding the palette. Also, white fletching. It's a little thing, but I like it. In larger groups of varied models, it's also an easy way to help bring them together - doubly as white's a nice neutral colour.

      @TheHobbyGrotto  Před rokem +1

      Thanks for watching! 😀 I truly love XV-88, it's just so versatile! I actually meant to go back and highlight the fletching with white, I realised upon watching the video that I forgot to do this! In any case, maybe it was better left light grey so as not to stand out too much like a bright white would!

    • @Sturmensky
      @Sturmensky Před rokem +1

      @@TheHobbyGrotto As a cheap solution for the fletching, I'll wash it over with heavily thinned down Black Templar contrast. That way, it darkens the depressions while leaving me with minimal clean-up to highlight the body back to a light grey, or - if I want to push it further - leaving me with a good mid-tone for a lighter grey or white.

    • @TheHobbyGrotto
      @TheHobbyGrotto  Před rokem

      Black Templar is very handy! I also like to use it for a darker wash/black lining! 😁

      @@TheHobbyGrotto Agreed! Once you realize you need to water it down or manipulate its concentration, you can do a lot with it.

      Totally, contrast/speed paints are amazingly good to experiment with and find cool alternate uses!
