I threw up on Stampede when I was 6 and then threw up on Samurai 10 years later when I was 16 (I have never been good with spinning rides) . Slammer was also my second favourite ride so I was actually sad when it closed but I wasn't even alive or sentient for most of the rides on this list but I wish I could have enjoyed them.
Yeah, however that probably would have cost money and considering the last coaster opened in 2012 I would much prefer a new one before we get loggers back
You think Rush, Vortex, Samurai and Zodiac offer a similar experience to Slammer? I’d say that Slammer gave a completely different experience to those other flat rides, and I was really sad to see it close. But that’s just my opinion 🤷♂️
Cinema 180 was brilliant! I remember the rollercoaster film and I think there was an airplane film too. I remember my sister falling over in there as she was so immersed in the film!
I did enjoy Calgary stampede a bit more than samurai, purely because even though it was safe, with samurai you felt like you were going to fall out but with Calgary stampede, you felt safe and secure in the carriage
These gave me feels. Been going since around 1990. I thought you’d mention octopuses garden though and Pirates 4D Teacups and enterprise that’s now at Chessington
Was the family farm a petting zoo? I remember there being a petting zoo but all these years I had convinced myself that it was a dream or that I was combining 2 childhood memories (which is also a possibility)
Thorpe Farm was an actually functioning farm that was open to guests as a petting zoo only accessible by the train. Closed to guests in 2007 when the park started targeting adrenaline junkies with their rollercoasters and was no longer a popular attraction
@@its_matt_long yeah because I remember the petting zoo and I remember the train ride as well but I thought I was confusing memories since I had also been to other petting zoos and theme parks.
Hyperia looks like it is going to be a lot of fun... but I was a bit sad when hearing that loggers leap wasn't coming back. I've had some amazing memories on that ride, thankfully if I did want to ride a log flume I live next to Gullivers Land so could ride that
Wicked Witches was an insurance scam. The closure of this ride paved the way for newer rides like the detonator which opened shortly after the fire in the same location.
A little unknown secret is if you head down Monks Walk behind Thorpe Park you might see a metal bobsleigh. The British Bobsleigh team used this land for Summer Training for the 1984 Sarajevo Winter Olympics. If you follow the track which is still there but mostly overgrown it takes you all the way up to the end of the walk. Sad to see a bobsleigh just sat there after 40 years
Something that I regret is that I went do the first time to Thorpe park in 2015 when slammer was still operating and saw alive was open and I didn’t go on any of them 😭
Loggers leap was a really good log flume. I know its gone because of Project Exodus which seems to have take ages to be announced. Thorpe Park needs more than just another coaster. With Slammer closed. It's not a great park to visit anymore. The flat rides here are like you said about Calgary Stampede very fair groundish, Especially Samauri which came from Chessington. Earlier this year they did Retro Squad at Alton Towers as again it just doesn't have the pull after removing rides and not replacing them. What Merlin really need to do it open a brand new land at each park, something with a couple of rides in it, rather than opening one big ride and renaming that area. Air / Galatica whatever you want to call it failed with the VR goggles what a joke! When Project Exodus opens, it will push everyone to that area of the park and as always the queues will be so long... It needs so much more investment. They should have removed rumba rapids instead of the log flume.
Absolutely agree with what you said there Sally! There seems to be a lack of long term planning in UK parks and it results in just a bunch of rides thrown together rather than planned lands and immersive rides. Hopefully this will change in the future!
Hi there i was watching your video last night 10 defunct rides at thorpe park. Brilliant by the way My mum worked there for many years when opened until 90s so went loads times. There was captain andys revue a sing along anamatronics Pirates island train ride with interaction from staff dressed as pirates Space station zero roller coaster in dark. Which was moved outside as the flying fish. Regards Krissy.
Blackpool pleasure beach, Camelot, gullivers world, light water valley, Alton towers, Thorpe park all fantastic memories from over the years, please comment in the reply section of parks that have finished.. I'm from Accrington Lancashire and have visited these parks since a little en, now 33 binge watching videos of rides haha.
Never mentioned Space Station Zero. Indoor roller coaster that eventually closed. They took the coaster outside and it became the Flying Fish. My store of it was mid 80s with school. I didn't like roller coaster so said I didn't want to go on. The teacher said "if you don't go on, no one goes on. " what an arsehole. His excuse was he couldn't leave me on my own waiting. Eventually I gave in and agreed. Ended up not being so bad. Everyone rushed to the back with me left on my own and the only seat left was at the front!
Maybe of we are lucky they'll move the 3 kids rides to amity beach, since TTB and LJ have a maritime theme due to Sealife Weymouth, and maybe they can move the RE to anywhere else, I just want it to stay
@@kylebicker7649 yeah that’s my gripe with new developments - deciding to remove attractions rather than using other space (swarm island is empty???) so I’m with you- hope to see them relocated. Amity beach is a really solid idea! Even if they’re only the smallest kid rides, just having the attractions in the first place helps to add a little extra through put and reduce lines for other rides
I went on that ride the year before it caught fire. I was to young when 180 cinema when it closed. Thorpe park died the time the Thorpe park rangers had gone and these rides had gone and the flying fish too. Sad times :( but good times they were. They went too OTT too quick. With Colossus , Nemesis, Detanator
Which of these defunct rides in Thorpe Park do you miss most?
Loggers Leap for sure, I love the video as well
Thanks for checking us out 😊

Samurai lol 😂
Apparently it's going to reopen!
Loggers leap should have stayed, It's a shame Thorpe Park is more interested in having thrill seeking rides than having a bit of a balance.
True, we'd love to see more of a balance in the future!
Yeah, however that probably would have cost money and considering the last coaster opened in 2012 I would much prefer a new one before we get loggers back
Yep. They went OTT.
I mean... Project exodus is quite the replacement!
Went there yesterday..it's a real disappointment..the lack of different types of rides..
Waste of time.and money..all rides are alike
The slammer hits hard the memories are unbelievable. Especially when a kid in my class dropped his £50 hat because he didn’t want to take it off 💀
😂
Karma. I hope somebody took it
You think Rush, Vortex, Samurai and Zodiac offer a similar experience to Slammer? I’d say that Slammer gave a completely different experience to those other flat rides, and I was really sad to see it close. But that’s just my opinion 🤷♂️
Slammer gave a completely different feel
I remember riding space station zero, I think it might have been my first big coaster.
🎢🤩
Logger's Leap, Slammer and Rocky Express are the moat heartbreaking for me
No ghost train will ever come close to Phantom Fantasia, it was epic!
Cinema 180 was brilliant! I remember the rollercoaster film and I think there was an airplane film too. I remember my sister falling over in there as she was so immersed in the film!
I loved Magic Mill. Giant animatronic frogs singing "We All Stand Together", magical.
Well made video buddy :)
Thanks! 🙂
Great video, but what about space station zero? First costa that I ever rode (as a small kid in the 80s) scared me but loved it
I miss the witch ride and flying fish the most. Man that witch ride was so cool :’(
Me too. I wish it was still there :( Flying fish is still there
Thorpe park Farm. Used to be able to get the train by loggers leap or the boat from model world to get there. It was a fully working farm.
And by boat
Or boat back I think
I did enjoy Calgary stampede a bit more than samurai, purely because even though it was safe, with samurai you felt like you were going to fall out but with Calgary stampede, you felt safe and secure in the carriage

@@ThemeSeekers can’t wait!! 😊
I live at chessington
Same man, I loved it so much . The rangers . That monkey was cheeky sod
Teacups still at Thorpe park now known as Storm in a teacup
You forgot the family farm and the connecting railway

This video should be called "what used to make thorpe park fun before fires conveniently burnt everything,"

Miss slammer best flat ride and most unique flat ride I have ever been on and that's a lot I look at it still standing and think wow I miss that
Wicked Witches was an insurance scam. The closure of this ride paved the way for newer rides like the detonator which opened shortly after the fire in the same location.
Now it's rip old town lol
Yes remember model world
I feel lucky now that I've been on loggers leap before it closed but I haven't done any of the others because most of them closed before I was born

With the Miss Hippos Safari Ride. You can see that they have repurposed the jeeps into the nemesis inferno shop
There used to be a farm and you would get a small train there
Loggers Leap. *sniff!*
Something that I regret is that I went do the first time to Thorpe park in 2015 when slammer was still operating and saw alive was open and I didn’t go on any of them 😭
Genuinely brilliant video! (Just want to mention at 7:44 I don’t own the video! The video in the series has its credit in the description!)
Thank you! 😀 and thanks for the info on the video, we'll include it in our description too.
I remember cinema 180. Went in the early 80s
I never heard of this park. This was an awesome video.
Thank you! It's still a great park even though all these rides are gone 😂 if you ever find yourself near London, it's worth a visit!
@@ThemeSeekers you are most welcome. Will definitely do if I ever have a chance to go.
I miss Slammer and Loggers Leap the most. but it's 2024 and Hyperia is now built in Loggers space
It hurts to have seen Loggers Leap like that.

Wasn't model world approx where Stealth is now? I thought Swarm Island was purpose built for the coaster infilling some of the lake.

Exodus will replace it so I guess is not that bad
Stealth replaced Model World I believe, not The Swarm
Miniature world gave way to stealth not the swarm. The swarm is sat on a new man made island
The Canada creek railroad you missed out
Miss the slammer
Let's hope a new flat ride is added soon!
I even remember when Alton towers only had 2 rides the splash and dodgems and was free to get in
Anyone remember the Bronco Bikes which briefly replaced the go-karts many years ago?
Slammer is still there hidden behind a bush
Not operating though sadly
@@ThemeSeekers it's abandoned 🥲
At least it is there!!! If we all signed a petition they might reopen it.
Thorpe park died the time the Thorpe park rangers had gone and these rides had gone and the flying fish too. Sad times :( but good times they were
Space station zero was an indoor coaster when I was younger. But not mentioned sadly 😢
Probably not on this list because it's technically still there; it was moved outside and re-themed as the Flying Fish.
you can actually still see slammers supports!
Didn’t Stealth replace the miniature area not Swarm? Swarm Island was built in 2012 along with Swarm?
I only went on Loggers Leap 3 or 2 times!
SPACE STATION ZERO ?????? 1of the best they had
Great watch this pal...liked
Thanks for watching! 😃
I don't have far to travel to Thorp park as I live 2 seconds from the entrance gait's
Loggers leap was much better than tidal wave imo.
My god, Magic Mill!! I assumed I made up the Paul McCartney singing frogs 😂😂
At least now we finally have concrete plans with what will happen to Loggers Leap/the Old Town area. Bring on Exodus!
