Hi Cheryl. So sorry for our late reply. Whole peppercorns are better but if you really can’t get them, powder form is also okay. We have a herbal soup recipe made with pork. Not sure if that works for you. You can replace the pork with chicken czcams.com/video/0me_6ErkT4s/video.html

My wife hates pepper, but I think with her it's the "bits" she hates. I'm going to try this soup and I bet she likes it. Never thought to use a "teaball" for the pepper.

This is a good soup it’s absolutely delicious and I love chicken feet I don’t put regular chicken in it I just put the feet because that’s my favorite part
