They turned out beautifully! Your skill in recreating nature so realistically is phenomenal! I think that board would make a great display at a market stall showing off what a customer could purchase/order.

Thank you so much Jared. Blessings to you too. Cheers J
@@joshuadelisle your very welcome.
Wow! Those leaves look like they had somehow escaped fall and stayed on the trees. All of them were dead ringers for the leaves I have always admired since I first went into the woods, with the holly some how saying that it was a real leaf with a silver coat, the way you got the bend and the spikes was just perfect holly, one of my favourite shrubs. I planted 72 holly bushes that have made a super hedge and are a late autumn/early winter well visited free super market for the berry eating birds, 99%+ of the berries were gone before this last Christmas. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much. It's actually a present for a friend of mine who also loves trees and so they needed to look as close to the real ones as I could within reason. All the very best. Cheers J
really great job, and i love to see the power hammer working so well, have somtime that i didn´t fallow the chanel, since you upgrade your powerhammer, but here we are again. Conrgats from Sonora, MEXICO
Thank you so much. I'm generally only able to make what I've been commissioned which hasn't been much forge work unfortunately. Hopefully I'll do lots more soon. Cheers J
Nice
Thank you. Cheers J
Excelente trabajo de forja y calda !!!
Thank you. Cheers J
Your leaf work is awesome. Just last week I was asked to make a Holly bush leaf as a pendant for a necklace. I need to make it small but you gave me some good ideas.
Fantastic. All the very best. Cheers J
I love the Ash leaf. I would be scared of burning the small stems. Great job all round.👍
Very similar to ash it's actually meant to be a rowen leaf. Cheers J
On the way
Happy new year To you and your familly
Iwas learning forge last week i go home back for do same process
Happy new year. All the very best. Cheers J
Thanxalot
Love it
Gotta try it
Greetz from the Netherlands
Jim de Smed
Thank you Jim. Cheers J
Thank you for all your great vid. Happy New Year hope 2022 is your best year to date. Be well and be safe..................
Thank you. Blessings to you also, have a good year. Cheers J
I'd been thinking of getting a cheap plasma cutter to help speed up leaf work. Thanks for helping with that decision!
Thank you. I seriously rate this one for cost and performance. I've yet to post a review video yet but I can tell you it cuts 20mm steel and I'll be converting it to CNC very soon. Cheers J
@@joshuadelisle Out of curiosity, which one is it. Also, what do you think of the Chinese induction forges that seem to be everywhere? The only space I have to work right now is the basement and wouldn't feel comfortable with coal or propane there.
@@toddellner5283 Hi. There is a link in the description for both UK and USA for the plasma. I'm looking at doing a review video on a Chinese induction forge so we'll see how it goes. They're currently low in stock so I'm just waiting until they have more before they send me one to look at. Cheers J
Awesome as always, I'd love to see someone commissioning some garden gates and rails in a similar style
Thank you Dan. That would be nice to do again one day. Cheers J
Wow
Thank you. Cheers J
Happy new year sir and hope the sheds coming along well !
Thank you. Yep doors going on very soon and looking for more free paving slabs to go on the floor. Cheers J
@@joshuadelisle paving slabs you say .... think i have a m8 in merthyr that has 100 or so he offered me last year but i decided not to bother , may still be available if you want me to find out and its not to far ? typical b and q patio slabs though not big pavement ones.
@@Edgunsuk sounds interesting. Are they free?
Delightful work! It almost seems like you must have forge welded in the center stem on the first batch of leaves, but I guess there was enough material from the previous forge welds to make it work. Thanks for sharing your work and processes!
Thank you Bryson. I actually Tig welded a little extra on the stem to get more length but if I thought about it I could have left a bit more material when forge welding and that would have given enough length in the end. Cheers J
Work of a master!
You're very kind. Thank you. Cheers J
ótimo, muito bom....tento fazer dentro das minhas limitações, me falta ferramentas, tenho o aparelho de solda e a prensa ...não fica tão bom mas já e algo😊
Well done. You can do a lot with just those. Cheers J
Wow Joshua, love watching you manipulating metal, what a lot of work goes into your pieces, makes me want to build a forge. 👴🏻👍
Thank you Terry. I've been looking into induction forges so that maybe a video for the future. Cheers J
Muito bom
Thank you. Cheers J
You need that cnc plasma .... sooooooo much easier
Thank you. Yep coming soon. Cheers J
Beautifully done! I love the technique you used with the paper cutouts and magnets, will have to borrow that idea.
The 2nd stem from the left on the finished project - are they holly leaves?
Hi yes they are. I decided not to do berries in the end otherwise it's a bit much I thought and enjoyed the minimal design. Cheers J
Wow, another beautiful piece, especially the holly.
May I ask what finish you applied, it suits the work perfectly?
Take care.
Thank you so much. I used renessance wax, there should be a link in the description for it. It's great stuff. Cheers J
Awesome work Josh.
I’ve seen some nice small leaves (keyring size) that were forged from wood screws if you want another idea
Thank you Ian. I can see that idea working well. Especially for a fern design. Cheers J
Wow... that's savage...super great idea. Odd Q...I have some tong blanks and they are super heavy. Should I just grind the reins down to lighten them?
Personally I prefer the strength that a thick pair of tongs have. Too thin and they just bend. So instead I would recommend extra protein in your diet. Or if you don't mind spending extra cash a set of titanium tongs are nice to use just very expensive. Cheers J
@@joshuadelisle 😂😂 right more liver and beef for me so..and I was farty before!
Very nicely done. I use a longer V swage to bend the leaves in the middle, but I like the V fork you have. Are you still using the micro-controller on the hammer?
The stems are fairly easy to forge out on the hammer if you want a seemless connection to the leaf.
Hammer is still going well with the Arduino. You see I used it a little in this video. You're right about about forging out the stems but I liked to give extra thickness to make them more robust on this project as they may get a lot of abuse over the years with lots of heavy coats tugging on them. Cheers J
What kind of metal is this?
6:27 Bro like you gotta tell us when you're gonna spark the arc. Now Im like totally blind.
Any chance you would know where to find one of those cross peen hammers you were forging with for the majority of the video i’ve been looking for on like it for ages
This is a similar one I found: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/362607939050?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28
@@joshuadelisle really appreciate you taking the time to find that for me thank you
@@evanjones5410 you're welcome. Cheers J
don´t wear gloves with grinder :D or with anything what rotates. i have seen horrible injuries in my work when tool grabs your glove. nice work btw :D stay safe
Beautiful.
Thank you. Cheers J
