18:50 that was a sick ass line! Props!
Haha I appreciate it. Sometimes you gotta think outside the box.
Excellent video!!!
Thanks so much, I appreciate it!
I feel like frog's playability in shadow vs tamiyo is directly correlated to the number of chalice of the voids in the format.
Definitely good in to chalice. Got to ignore a chalice the other day with force in hand because I just had like frog, double counterspell, force, and sink into stupor. Was pretty cool.
My daily pittance for the algo 🗣️🗣️🗣️
Mike, keep on pumping videos. YT just told me my channel is dead because I didn't post for 2 weeks. Meanwhile I'm getting millions of AI videos and channels on my feed.
The youtube algos are all over the place. Really no rhyme or reason most of the time.
If you looking for a good boardwipe that is a bit more preserving for your life total against boros you could try out glistening deluge hits almost everything (besides fable, bonecrusher and outgrown guide of souls, phelia and ofc phlage)
I've seen that suggestion, might have to give it a shot. I was kind of hoping meathook would let you wipe the board and stabilize your life a little bit in case of bolt or phlage.
Any consideration for Long Goodbye as an uncounterable 2-mana kill spell that hits Ajani, Phlage, and Teferi, among others?
I think if I were going to go with a 2 mana option, I'd probably just run bitter triumph and be able to hit the bigger stuff like murktide as well. I'm not sure how relevant the uncounterable part is right now.
What is the main reason for not consider running a combination of tamiyo and frog in the list or alternatively bowmasters/murktide?
Slots probably 😊
I think adding frog with shadow and goyf makes the deck pretty one dimensional, where tamiyo breaks that up by giving you an alternate way to fight the game. Murk is solid with frog if you're looking for some more evasion, but murk and goyf are horrendous together. Bowmasters is pretty low on my list right now just because it isn't killing much or having a heavy impact in games I'm not already winning.
Any reason for the switch from flooded strands to bloodstained mire's? How do I know which I should play?
Depends on that if you play harbinger in the sideboard or you expect a lot of harbinger/blood moon in your lgs meta if not play blue fetches cause of counterspell
If there's a main board swamp,makes sense
What they said. Black fetches are only if you're running the basic swamp, which I only do if I have harbinger of the seas in the 75. Otherwise I'm all blue fetches and double island.
What about surgical? Feels like the biggest target is phlage
Definitely a card people have suggested, I just hate the idea of a card that is dead against the rest of the deck. At least with spellbomb/lantern you can cycle it for a new card if they don't see the phlage.
any budget replacements for orc, goyf n frog/tamiyo? i'm still on the snap/angler list 😢😢
Best list
well if 8 bucks for frog is not budget enough Stalactite stalker/delver are budget options
I think bloodcheifs thirst is for sure being slept on
Thanks for the responses guys. Faerie Mastermind okay or just a dead draw?
Good question. I don't think gurmag is bad right now, honestly. Or always that double black delve 5 demon with flying. Oh or shadow of mortality, always a fan favorite.
Love this list. Why bot 4 tamiyo?
1st one is very good, 2nd one is meh, 3rd one is never wanted, so 3 is a good number to make sure you never see Tam #3 (or worse, #4)
4 has always felt very overkill. It's a really good turn 1 play, or turn 2 plus draw spells to flip it, but really declines in multiples.
Frog is great against any red source removal decks like UR murktide, prowess, domain and in general against any midrange deck that can’t play fatal push. If they play push, then no one of ur creatures are really good, even tamiyo, so doesnt change anything. I prefer one hundred times the frog over tamiyo in so Many matchs ups. Tamiyo is really bad against eldrazi, jeskai control, uw control, storm and against a lot of decks u need to apply pressure imho.
Tamiyo won me most of my games against control lists so i wouldn't say it is bad in that mu, depends on that if it gets answered immediately same as frog
I wouldn't say great against any red source, frog is very awkward against galvanic discharge (which according to mtggoldfish is a top 4 most played spell overall in modern right now). Since you have to decide to ditch cards before resolution and they can just choose to not pay the energy. It's definitely better against bolt, but Boros and Jeskai Energy are everywhere right now. It's kind of funny how our experiences have differed because I think tamiyo is excellent against most of the decks you mentioned. Against fatal push, flipping her early on a tapout turn from your opponent means she dodges fatal push and drown while giving you a win con, eldrazi can't interact with her after she's flipped, wrath the skies misses her after the flip, and all you're investing in to her is spells that say "draw a card".
You should try splashing green for tarmogoyf and sideboard pick your poison
not anymore, this was an option before mh3, now its a massive no considering you have black goyfs (and frogs if you feel like youre lacking beaters with 4 shadow 4 goyf). PYP also isnt great anymore considering theres no scion/leyline anymore and one of your biggest artifact threats is chalice)
@@papastrunf44 You may be right. But frog need you to dump you hand in the bin to have tarmogoyf power. In a deck that want to keep interaction in hand it looks bad imo. Also need to discard 3 cards to enable stubborn denial.
I've got a sultai list in the schedule that is basically just splashing for those two. I don't think pyp is as good right now as it has been, but still a pretty solid one against turn 1 saga from nadu or a flying guide of souls.
