    @AnotherWatchChannel Před 2 lety +2

    This Phylida watch is one of the best homages ever made. The speedmaster itself is probably the most difficult because you need a decent manual wind movement otherwise its really a homage with these other quartz or automatic versions from other brands. The movement is top notch, I’ve had mine over a year now, and is more accurate than some of my swiss watches (Tissot Visodate) as an example. It just feels like excellent quality.

    There is a lot to like about this watch. It's a homage of a very rare watch and this is essentially what makes sense with an homage watch. It's well executed and a handsome watch. One thing the Chinese watch companies struggle with is the geometry of the end links. The fact that its wearable doesn't mean it looks good, especially the way the adjacent bracelet links often slope down in an almost right angle. But this was an amazing and enjoyable review. Cheers and merry Xmas! 🎅👍

    Great video as usual, Dan. The Tin Tin theme gets me really nostalgic, remembering reading part I and part II of these lunar adventures as a kid. I even had a Tin Tin poster with the motive of one of these books back in the 70s.
    Yeah, I'd swap that bracelet out to make it wear better on my tiny wrist, a shame since that seems like a good bracelet. Female end links (and hopefully short lugs) should always be standard IMHO. But otherwise I think this seems like a great chrono watch I'd really consider (if it was available lol). That mechanical ST19 movement is always a gorgeous sight to behold through an visible case back.
    Happy Holidays to everyone!

    Wish they had done something with the 6 o'clock dial as a duplication of the hour hand is beyond pointless. Could they not add a power reserve indicator or a chronograph hour dial? You mentioned other versions of the seagull movement could do that?

    I fancy one of these, I lack a mechanical chronograph and my first choice a Sekonda 3017 is priced way above my affordability and you can see the heritage of the Venus 150 in the 3017 versus the Venus 175 in the ST19. I might just buy a new movement and collect parts as time goes by and build it up, am at the moment building up a beautiful rose gold Tudor Yachtmaster going with the Miyota option because I keep hearing stories that some DG2813's can be dry upon arrival and perform accordingly. I am getting right into this "build your own watch" thing using Aliexpress etc.

    I know this is an old post but as I've only recently bought a Tin tin Phylida Moonwatch I've noticed that all these models have their tachymetre scales out. The 225 marker is almost at the 3'O clock which should really be the 240 marker. In the earliest models which had the silver and red bezel's the scale markers were correct and even had the 240 at the 3'O clock mark. Now that I've noticed I can't stop looking at the error. See this link for the red and silver bezel and 240 marker on it. @Jason the watch guy's channel czcams.com/video/UMbQVy67tE8/video.html

    The 12 hour sub dial..... I thought that should be a totalizer for the chronograph. So I'm surprised to see it appears to be a duplicate of the normal hour hand.
    Now I'm wondering if this is true of the 1902 movement in other brands or watches. Honestly thought it was a 12 chronograph. That is a function I needed for work and bought a Glycine combat chrono instead of a 1902 movement not knowing this.
