Phylida and Pagani Speedmaster "homages" comparison

IMHO, A very Nice and very objective review of some of the best Moonwatch homage watches in the street!!!!! I have the Pagani, The Corgeut and the Phylida Homage watches together with more than 250 Chronos including 19 Omega Speedmaster that I have gotten through the years since 1970, and in term of appearance, functionality, closeness to the Speedmaster and finishing, my order is Phylida, Pagani and Corgeut in 3rd place. I wear ALL my Chrono watches with the metal bracelet they came with, no NATO or any other crap straps, just the pure metal, and ALWAYS three chronos per wrist!!! In terms of operation, the Phylidar is the best coz it has a Mechanical movement, the Seagul ST 1903, a derivative of the Venus 175 caliber. This caliber uses a 7-pillar Column wheel to control the start/stop of the chrono function. In terms of columns wheels, the more pillars it has, the smoother it works. The Rolex 4130 uses a 6-pillar column wheel, as are the Co-Axial Chronos from Omega, while Caliber Omega 321 uses an 8-pillar column wheel, as well as many older classic chrono movements like El Primero and Longines 13ZN. The Bezel on the Pagani is in Ceramic, and the markings are closer to the Speedmaster than the Phylida, including the dot-over-90. But the Pagani and the Corgeut use a VK-63 MechaQuartz from Seiko that returns to zero like the original mechanic movement. The Corgeut finishes third coz although it works slightly smoother than the Pagani, the rest of it is a mix of different Omega models from different times in a single model, and it looks "cacophonic". But look, I have been stopped in the street and asked to show my Moonwatch when wearing any of them, and that is something to talk about. So wear any of them with confidence, except for the Phylida. The Phylida has that Chinese movement that is more expensive to fix than the whole watch itself, but its looks are gorgeous!!!!

Finally some one who also doesn't like those crappy Nato straps. Chrono's should have metal bracelets. End of story. A Speedmaster with a leather or any other than metal bracelet is for hairdressers and pussies. 🙂
This was a really nice review and comparison of these two watches. I own both of them and like them both but I am definitely partial to the Phylida. The ST19 movement is really nice to look at.

I've had the Phylida for a few years now. Well worth the $$. You'll be hard pressed to find a fully mechanical movement at that price point. The Seagull ST19 is quality.
agreed, and having returned my Cadisen because of pusher issues I'll say its also about how well the Phylida is assembled around the movement.
Just oderered the phylida today at Ali . Phyli Store, for 175€. I Like the movement :- )
for what its worth I gave my Pagani to a friend (who needed a reliable watch) and kept my Phylida ... Hope its as good for you as it has been for me
Nice little insight of each of these watches, they both have there own pro’s and cons, but to be fair both are lovely homages and I’d be proud to own either, maybe some day I will, I do love the movement in the phylida the seagull St1903 is a very underestimated movement but the only drawback is the parts are nigh impossible to get if they need a new part, my advice is get it serviced as much as you can to stop it from wearing any part my friend. 🙏👍😉👏👏👏
The Phylida is growing on me and while I have preference for the hands on the Pagani I'm getting used to the Phylida.
I'm wearing the them both once a week, I don't think I'll sell them.

Is the crown screwed in or just pushed in and out?
the question is ambiguous so:
* phylida only has push in option
* to my knowledge the crown on the Pagani was pushed and screwed in (as I never leave it unscrewed and I'd had no reason to fiddle with it in taking this.

Did you drill extra holes in the lugs of the Pagani design?
No, it happened to come that way. Discussion on reddit suggested others got this too. I don't know if it's an error or a plan

I have both watches. I like them both. However, the pushers of the Phylida are way to far 'out' in comparison with the Pagani. The Pagani is a very beautiful design, imho more intrestings than the original Speedmaster which I also own the Professional and Reduced.
