As a former Navy sharpshooter, I have made the 608 my every day carry. In my opinion it's the best 357 revolver out there.

Any misfire problems ? One review said it misfired at least once after all 8 were fired

The best revolver would be a Manurhin MR73, but they are going for $4,000 imported through Beretta. I'd say a Korth would be next in line. Then something from S&W after a gunsmith has worked it over.
You only know what you know. If you've never handled anything north of a Taurus, that's your only reference point.
@@exothermal.sprocket I think what was meant is that for the average person who doesn’t have 3-4 thousand dollars to drop on a firearm, the Taurus is pretty good.

It definitely is. This thing is so soft shooting that you can put all those suckers right on target too. I couldn't resist after I saw the 8 round cylinder.😆
I love Taurus revolvers because of the quality. They work and the out of box triggers are good and only improve with age. The price is an added bonus but not really a big factor for me.

I now own a Tx and love it. Its my pillow gun. My 22 Magnum in the bread basket of my kitchen.
8 months later I have put some rounds through mine and there has been no issues with it I make sure I clean and oil it. Sometimes I do carry it concealed, yes indeed. Its a beautiful gun. I ended up getting a 66 and just picked up a 82 about Two weeks ago. For for the price you pay you cant beat what they give in enjoyment.

I bought a Taurus 669 in .357 in 1994 for hunting javelina. It's ported and has the trigger worked and us highly accurate and reliable. Bought it for $275 when I couldn't afford anything else. My boys now use it for javelina hunting. They love it.
My wife carries a snubby taurus 692 and loves it. They make a really good wheel gun. Another great video tools. Keep it up

Taurus makes a fine revolver. Love that eight shot capacity would like to purchase one myself. My old Taurus model 80 is a very good shooting revolver, I know a lot of people consider Taurus "cheap" but the one's which I have handled seem good quality weapons would take one over a smith and wesson any day. Just something to note. Use of hot loads consistently which Taurus considers anything pushing over 1,600 fps in this barrel length to be "hot" causes them to go out of timing. Or at least that has been a reported issue and one I've seen first hand before. That said, last time I shot one of these I think it probably had over 300 rounds through it that day, about half of which were .38's but most of them +P and it ran like a champ, no problems.
I love my Taurus guns as a whole. They typically bring a lot of good features for the dollar when compared to S&W or Ruger in some cases and they don't cost as much, yet when running them I often can't find much if anything wrong with them when compared to their competition. Good gun for the money and 8 shots of .357 Magnum is a lot of firepower. Would rather carry this around than a 1911 for the same weight.
This thing is definitely a big ol solid chunk of steel. It's fantastic so far.😎
@@ToolsandTargets My Raging Judge Magnum with a 6 1/2 inch barrel dwarfs it I'd say but I'll be damned if I don't love it. That's been my experience with Taurus revolvers, dependable. Still waiting for one of those 942 revolvers to show up in my local area. 8 shots in a small package and available in UltraLite frames, would be a dream little gun in .22 LR or .22 WMR
Even a s&w 460 magnum will do that
It's a tool that can only take so much punishment
But us gun nuts will continue to treat them like the dirty whores they are!

That’s one of the best full size 357 revolvers I’ve seen that would still be good to carry, plenty of people make 8 shot snubs but I like the slightly longer barrel, I recently picked up the raging hunter in 44 mag with the 6 inch barrel and now seeing this I may need to get this as an actual carry gun and not just a truck gun

Thanks for the review. Just traded my G20 for a discount on a taurus 608 w a 6.5 inch barrel. Looks super badass and I'm excited to shoot it but another review had a bunch of misfires and some other mechanical issues on it. That review was from 2017 though and I keep hearing Taurus has improved their quality as of late. Hoping I don't get any troubles with it.

Nice. Must be the N frame equivalent. Some of the Buffalo Bore .357 ammo is essentially .44 Mag power, hard to beat that.

Man you sure know how to pick em Tools, that is a fantastic gun and I almost bought one about 10 yrs. ago, I had it in my hand and ready to lay down the cash and at the last minute I said let me look at the S&W 686+ in the case and it just fit my hand a little better and I bought that instead. They sure are fun to shoot. Just like you I don't shoot it as much as I would like cuz I can't always find .357 or .38 I hope you enjoy it my friend. I got a S&W TRR 8 and it is a sweet wheel gun. Even though it comes from the Performance Shop, I had the trigger worked and it's like butta! It's really balanced and a pretty good shooter. I will say, I got a Taurus 669 in 1994 and had the trigger worked and it shoots a little better. 5 vs 6 inch barrel, but $1000 price difference the Taurus is no slouch.

Man, been looking at the 608 recently.
Got a Taurus 9mm auto for the wife.
Mix of matte stainless and black. Pretty thing, shoots easy and accurate (can't remember the model off hand).
I've always been partial to revolvers. I think it's cuz my uncles always shot revolvers and single shot for hunting bear and deer, and always said revolvers were more accurate than autos.
I like that 4"! Hefty without being front heavy, correct? Seems like the best of all worlds in that size.
There's a couple sitting at a local shop nearby, really hoping to pick it up in the next few weeks.

Yeah, this is a great shooting gun. Plenty of weight but pretty much all in the core of it.

Man I like that one! I haven't seen one of those on the shelf yet here! I have looked at those on their site and like the 8 rd capacity. I would be happy with a 5 shot 605 lol. I saw a video a guy took one of those stainless models and did some gentle wire wheel brush work on it and man it looked incredible with a wood grip he added. Made it look like a really high end revolver. you're gonna have some fun with that I have no doubt!

Looking really good with 8 ronds 357nice blueming and casting of the gun plus sounds of the ammunition coming out of themagnum if you have to use it in your protection make sure to have extra ceilander for fast reloading or have fun cause once you get in the to using it I a rithem you can go through ammunition fast all depends on sichuwayction of what your doing or in put stuff in front of gel so when it hits it shows how it tares through and how it deforms though stuff and stops into bulistiksgels
Thinking of grabbing a speedloader for it for sure. Can't wait to do some barrier and gel testing with it.😎

Two points: 1) Thanks so much for your great reviews. You test at more realistic ranges for the average shooter. 2) The price of the 608 versus the price of the RedHawk & S&W 627 is astounding. How do you feel about the vast differences in the prices of the firearms?
I bought a Tracker in .357 and a 6 1/2 inch barrel 5 or 6 years ago and it has become my favorite revolver and it costs half of what the other favs cost

I haven’t been able to bring myself to buy a Taurus. Back in the 80s when I was in law enforcement, one of the guys at the range on qualification exercise had one just fall to pieces as he was shooting. I had a model 66 S&W and carried it through my stint. I carried a model 60 S&W on undercover because it was easy to conceal. Still shoot them. Bought a model 642, hammerless, air weight S&W for conceal carry. Have frame corrosion in a few spots. Aluminum next to the body doesn’t do well. S&W refused to cover it. I’m pissed at them and just might buy one of these to burn through some ammo.
I've never had a single issue with any of my Taurus revolvers. I think they're great guns.👍

I had the 608 several yrs ago with the 8-3/8" barrel and a vent rib with a scope mounted. Nice gun but it was huge for a .357.
This 4" I think is the perfect size.😎

You got a Wednesday product. Mine was miss timed, causing problems with the forcing cone. Metal chips underneath the grips and in the mechanism. A trip to Taurus and its fixed.
