Yes, Aurora took ballet lessons from age 6 and progressed into interpretive dance until age 16. Apart from dance lessons everything else, singing / songwriting, piano and other instruments are all self taught.
The video promotes the idea of escaping from the material world to be free with nature. But this song is really just about running with wolves. Originally this song was called “Hunting” but the name was changed for the album.

Aurora Tuesyay 😄 All these three are cool, of those three this one is the best MV in my opinion, but wait until you get to Winter Bird. For that one, Aurora had the idea that she wanted to be wrapped in a cocoon by drones, so the production company had to partner with some tech company (university? don't remember) and create these drones, which was apparently very difficult. The result in the end is pretty cool and we get to see Aurora showing off her more proffesional looking dancing moves

I love that you said she looked to be a good runner :-). I have the same lingering thought after watching this and the River … wondering if she was a good runner when she was a kid. As well as a good dancer, songwriting, singing, production, yada yada :-).

@@ashlenamusic She once said that she is not very good at daily tasks, probably something to do with inattention or lack of concentration in things that don't particularly interest her. Or, more pertinent to her art, when she sings she sometimes gets distracted by a small detail in the audience and forgets the words.
(there are videos that collect these moments which, instead of being critical, increase - if possible - her disarming humanity)

I don't know if you got Daydreamer on your music video list, but that one is not a real music video. They scrapped the video and what remains is just basically a lyric video with Aurora dancing in an empty hall.
One of my most favorite weird videos of Aurora (and one of my favorite songs, which inspired me to write a short story about being out of your body in the moments just before waking up, with your senses over-extended)

Hi again, dear Ashlena... for the third time... now this is actually the firat video with a real small story in it... and this story is pretty clear and self explanatory, I would say. And Aurora shows some aspects of her dancing skills. Besides all this, I really love this song, it is one of my favourites from her first album. Now I wonder which ones are coming next... see you in a week then... or even earlier with some more Ren ?

The video is really good and fits ideally with the meaning of the song. Many thinks thats helping you even more with interpretation of the song.
The song (in my interpretation) is about breaking free from civilization (maybe even modern society) and be more with nature.
Wolves symbolizing freedom and wildness (love how she sing it like wolf howling). The roots (or wires) symbolizing our attachment to civilization and society and something which hold you (the same about man in the car). 'Megacity' symbolizing civilization and wasteland symbolizing effect of our civilization on nature. Her movement are chaotic like a trapped wolf and she frees herself in the same way like it would do wolf. Also love contrast when on the end there are some shots of nature and wasteland and how calm she is in the forest vs her chaotic movements in wasteland.

I really love your concept of reacting to the video in a session separate from reacting to the actual song. And, of course, you pick up all the hints and visualizations, but can I just add one small item? The driver of the car (= modern technology and non natural life?) drives full speed forward while the windscreen is so smeared he doesn’t even see where he is going…

@@ashlenamusic I think it is to show how distorted our view has become, not seeing the beauty all around us, so focused on ourselves (glued to our electronic devices) we miss what is truly important.

It's funny....the chorus of this song has always bugged me a bit...idk why. But I _adore_ the verses...the vibe of the verses is quietly haunting, tip-toeing toward something powerful and life changing, is how it sounds to me.
Looking forward to when you get to the video for I Went Too Far. I love the song, but it might be my favorite of her videos because it resonates visually with me very deeply for some reason. It's very...nordic. Lots of white, silver, black, green, blue. And Aurora's performance is really affecting as well. Especially the "scene" in the waterfall/cave thingy during the 2nd verse.
Really why?!?! I absolutely love it because of the howling like a wolf. It's so clever.

In fact, about 1/3 of my comments on your videos disappear, despite always being totally positive and not breaking _any_ of YT's rules. It's quite frustrating...and feels like gaslighting especially when there's _never any_ reason given. But also...it hurts content creators like YOU, because it stifles engagement with your subscriber community. gah...idk, just venting I suppose. It's just real irksome when you write a thoughtful comment, only to later realize it just vanished with zero explanation. It makes me want to engage less on YT tbh. And I don't think a lot of content creators realize just how much that undercuts their own channel's growth and community atmosphere.
