- Ukraine's army leader admitted Sunday that Kyiv's position on the battlefield has worsened after Russian forces captured another village in the east, pressing their advantage in manpower and ammunition. Russia's troops are advancing in the eastern Donetsk region as Kyiv awaits the arrival of much-needed US weapons that it hopes will stabilise the fragile front lines. France 24's correspondent in Kyiv Gulliver Cragg has the latest.

You know it's over when even western media cannot hide it.
One of the biggest countries with one of the biggest militaries in the world canât even capture a small country with not even a quarter of the man power. Western media isnât hiding anything, this war has just proven that Russia will never stand a chance against the USA.
Sorry mate, but the western media is telling us exactly what is happening on the front line. However, the Russian media continues to repeat lies about a "justified war". The truth is that Putin started the war mimicking what Stalin did to Finland in 1939. Ukraine's mistake was not to start a full mobilisation in February 2022. I believe they will do it now (why not sooner is something I can't understand). Putin's only advantage is that, especially in rural Russia, the people are so poor that there are enough willing men to make a deal with the military. Russian propaganda has for decades Nazified people to believe that this war is justified. It is justified only for the Ukrainians, and that is why we Westerners - including us Finns - have decided to support them. I believe that Putin will lose this battle.

Peace means giving one side what they need, and in this case Russia's primary goal is stripping off Ukraine's sovereignty, that's not something the Ukrainian government will agree to. Believe it or not the war is about demilitarizing Ukraine and ripping off its sovereignty.
