George Harrison is the epitome of “less is more“ He didn’t shred like Jimi Hendrix or Eric Clapton but that’s not what was needed for the Beatles what he provided was just right. Nothing flashy just the right notes and executed them perfectly.
You're absolutely right Nicholas they were able to accentuate each other instead of spotlighting themselves individually that's what made the Beatles a force to be reckoned with
This solo really emphasizes how good Harrison was. Didn’t need to be fast or in your face but it’s one of the most tasty and “from the soul” solos ever
Some have called me a shredder, LOL and, I couldn't agree with you more freaking beautiful melodic well thought out soulful licks I can think of. Rip George
@@oop_2530 In a 1970s guitar player interview, Eric said he thought Harrison was more than capable of playing the solo but he did it as a favor. They also discussed his playing the famous wawa part of, While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Well, that wouldn't be "disrespecting it" anyways. It would still be a rendition to the original work just adding a little bit of his own. However, I can agree that's the perfect solo for that song.
Watching this seemingly so simple music making on a guitar makes me feel as though I had known George Harrison from even before the Beatles became the very heartland of that we all now know as contemporary music...gorgeous?...I don't think there's a single word beautiful enough to describe just what's going on in my old heart whilst I listen...totally absorbed and extremely thankful that it all happened within my very own lifespan...WOW!
And please notice the way he moves those strings from side to side to achieve even more from such a wonderful guitar piece...love you George...Glen Norris, nmmh!
I appreciate your approach to the legendary guitarists and riffs. I love this song and consider it the absolutely best of the whole beatles repertoire.
Wow! You nailed the nuances on this one! By the way, your shorts are very inspiring. They always remind me of songs I never learned all the way through and often get me to take another shot at forgotten favorite songs..
Great hands and ears, my friend. I enjoy your posts, keep them coming. They help me to re-discover things that I may have missed or to see a riff or lead differently. It ain't the music, but it's how you play it. Been playing for over 50 years and I still consider myself very much a student. I never want to stop learning this wonderful instrument.
You're one of the few guitarists that really are taking full advantage of shorts and I feel like your channel is really going to benefit off of it.
Thanks dude! I hope so, because CZcams has no interest in my longer form videos!
@@anthonyparkernearlifeexp That’s a bummer. I really enjoy your videos
@@anthonyparkernearlifeexp Love your channel!
@@anthonyparkernearlifeexp think you should clarify this solo was originally performed by Eric Clapton, not George Harrison
@@McNair-eo8ee that’s not correct. You’re thinking of while my guitar gently weeps

You're absolutely right Nicholas they were able to accentuate each other instead of spotlighting themselves individually that's what made the Beatles a force to be reckoned with

Only problem in that assessment is the solo is done by Eric Clapton
@@lightningleaf23 No it's not. While My Guitar Gently Weeps was done by Clapton.
@@justanotherrandomcrit8115 don’t know what you are writing but Clapton performed the solo. That’s a fact and there’s plenty of sources backing it up
This is the best rendition of George's solo I've heard. Congratulations 🎊 👏
This guitar solo is so beautiful and it’s like the sound of being in love with the love of your love you know.
Wow u can write beautifully said

Clapton played it
@@ronnyrono782 Except he didn't??? Clapton did the solos for WMGGW but that's the only Beatles song he was on.

I have to add, that was a very well written and thought out comment yourself sir!

George Harrison one of the greatest guitar players of all time
Agreed, his ability to play what sounded right rather than what sounded impressive helped the Beatles become one of the best to ever do it
Right on right on Sebastian
His solo on Let it Be (album version, the more raucous one) is probably my favorite solo of all time!
@@carlbaumeister3439 it's perfect in every way
и ещё, он был учителем игры на гитаре у одного очкастого придурка ;)
One of the most beautiful solos ever!
Can hear harrison's voice in my head
Well played on the guitar friend
Yes, that's his trademark guitar tone.
Seeing it like this makes me appreciate it so much more
I felt the same way ✌️
When every note counts
I always tend to think this is the most beautiful guitar solo of all time. It forms an integral part in itself of the song.
You played it so well. Smooth. George always knew what notes to use and how.
The notes, the feel, the tone and the execution are all PERFECT.
Beautiful!
This solo is beautiful
Thank you for respecting how George played the solo and not improvising
Well, that wouldn't be "disrespecting it" anyways. It would still be a rendition to the original work just adding a little bit of his own. However, I can agree that's the perfect solo for that song.
The way he played it is beautiful, and it would have been beautiful with improv too
Ffs, Clapton played it! Not Harrison!!!
@@McNair-eo8ee you’re thinking of while my guitar gently weeps, Harrison played the solo on something
How beautifully it all fits together.
Notice how we all know exactly the next note coming.

George was in my opinion the best guitar player of the Beatles.

Nice job sir. George would be smiling 😃.
George was a sublime musician and composer.
A melodic solo made to order. Not fast or scaly, but something that adorns the song and then moves on once the job is done.
Harrison was a genius..
And he was just getting going.
Peace 🌹
