Put a softer spring in it that will open on less pressure
Would it be possible to swap out the spring from the original valve into the body of the new valve? Maybe worth a shot. Glad to see you back Robbie!

The OBD Port has always power, so if you let normal OBD scanners in the port it will drain the battery. Look out for a scanner with an on/off switch. or power off function

Pressure = Force/Area. If you increase the diameter, and have the same spring force, the pressure it takes to operate will decrease. You are likely trying to go the wrong way and the reason you lost boost pressure is because it is constantly leaking. You probably need a stiffer spring.

Quick tip on how pressure interacts with surfaces. The force (F) applied to a surface with area (A) by a difference in pressure (p) equals: F=p*A. This means that in contrary to what you are saying, the blue blowoff valve with the larger diameter should have a higher force acting on the spring thus opening more easily.
I agree, but that would be true if the force exerted by the spring in the new valve is equal to that in the old one. Could the newer one have a stronger spring, and thus require significantly more pressure to counteract it?
Jasper, you are right in saying that but I believe robbie was right when he said it was made for higher boost. That would mean that there would be a higher force spring in it. So even loosened all the way it could have more backwards force than the original one.
You are both absolutely correct, the best option might be swapping the springs.

I would go for an hks or Greddy bov with a soft spring. I wouldn’t cheap out on this part or the wastegate in my opinion. I might be changing out mine shortly and could send over my old Greddy type rs bov. Running 7 pound wastegate springs but hits 9psi. Makes a nice clean sound with no surge

My 2 cents, probably wrong but hey, the nut and screw on top of most BOVs or at least the ones I have experience with adjusts the pretension, which is what makes it close once vented, so having it so loose is why it's leaking. As for why it's not opening, as others have mentioned the internal spring may be too heavy for the boost you're pushing or even just gummed up in there, worst case you may have an existing boost leak in your piping which allows the pressurized air to leak there rather than through the BOV.
Open up the bov, it may have come with two springs inside so it’s good for a variety of configurations. If it did, use the smaller one. Or try swapping the one from the cx racing bov into it.

yeah I think your thought I'd correct, 6-7 psi is barely any boost at all, but since it's a Honda you really cant push it more like you could with a Mitsubishi or something, I think this blowoff valve is meant more for 15-30 psi

You want sound, get a ebay Hks style bov. Generally, spring in the bov most likely needs to be swapped.

Take off the top on the blow off valve and check if the diaphragm is seated properly and that its not leaking👍🏻

The alternator does not recharge the battery, the alternator acts as a maintainer. so it maintains the battery voltage if it's at 9v or 13v.
And before everyone says that's completely wrong, it recharges the battery very little as in you would have to drive across Canada to get a fully recharge battery.
Btw your bov that came with the kit is actually a Greddy Type S knock off. That sound is unique to the Type S. You hear it a lot in the first fast and the furious especially on the Eclipse
The CXracing one is meant to be recirculated, I have one on my speed 3 front mount same exact bpv.
My cx racing box wouldn't stay shut under boost. I'd have to tighten the spring to get it to hold boost, then at that point it wouldn't open under low Boost shifts. I wound up buying an hks ssqv which worked out perfect.

At negative pressure the BOV is held open with engine vacuum, if you do not connect the vacuum hose to the top or side of the BOV the BOV will stay closed
At positive pressure the engine vacuum goes away and the BOV closes, once you lift off throttle the BOV opens because the engine is under negative pressure (vaccum) again releasing the positive pressure to relieve the turbo
