I’m not sure if you are aware of the oil dilution problem 10 gen Honda’s have. The earthdreams engine has it for sure. So it important to go synthetic and change your oil no more than 4K miles. Honda is working with oil companies and they will be releasing a new oil for the 10 gens on May this year. GDI something a complete new oil, Anyway great SI congrats 🍾
The reason it is not the same color black by the fog lights is because that’s where the millimeter radar is located and it’s a special cover that can’t be painted.

I have a 2020 Si Coupe as well. Mine is black though. Love it. Really fun to drive. Funny you mentioned you're not a fan of the seats. Ever since I got the car, that's one thing I've loved about the car. I find those seats comfortable and sporty looking. I love them. Only thing I hate about the car is the rev hang. That can make the car jerky between shifts. I find it's not as bad when the car is warmed up though. Overall, beautiful car and I'm happy I have it. I'll definitely have it for years to come.
Yeah it is weird but it’s a trade off thing I feel. They deleted the sunroof off the Type R for weight savings and also a couple other reasons. The glass plus the motor and associated tracks plus any associated metal frame work weigh enough they deleted it. Also with that weight up high it raises your center of gravity which is bad for racing. Many Type R cars are raced at a track and a sunroof lowers the interior height and that will interfere with the need to wear a helmet if needed for taller drivers. Also on some events, such as track events hosted by the Northern California Racing Club, a sunroof is considered an “open top” car which necessitates a roll bar to be installed if you want to race at these events, which add weight. A Civic Si is less likely to be raced vs a Type R so Honda tried to make the Type R more track ready. Plus also As far as the lane assist and such goes I’m not 100% sure. European models of the Type R have the wireless charging and some version of Honda Sense such as lane assist. These are not items that anyone cares about on a track. On regular roads of course they would be helpful but when raced you don’t want a lane departure warning going off everywhere. Again, it might be a small weight savings thing. Besides if you are a competent driver you don’t need these things. On a track these electric nannies are preferred to be turned off for a truer driving experience, or on the street for that matter. Deleting things is also a cost savings thing as well. Jaliopnik tried to make a regular Civic just LOOK like a Type R and it cost them on paper $11,000. You don’t get the 306hp engine, 6 speed tranny, exhaust, adaptive dampeners or the Brembo brakes and interior of the Type R plus anything else I forgot. Oh yeah, Type R suspension. The Type R is wider than a regular Civic by like 2 inches. Take a look at the front suspension of a Type R and compare it to a regular Civic. The Type R isn’t for everyone and for those people the price may not be justified if you just want sporty transportation. A regular Civic or Si will suffice perfectly. But if you get a chance to drive a Type R, pull the RPMs past 4500rpm in “+R” mode. It’s exhilarating. The handling on these cars are awesome. Hard to find the limits of the Type R on city streets. Need to go to a track for that. But yet I use mine as a daily driver. So versatile.
Calisto Riviera Nice that you got to test drive one. I’ve heard from many people online dealers aren’t letting people test drive Type Rs. I happened on a dealer that had a used one out front. I was intending on buying an Accord Sport but drove the Type R and fell in love. Like I said, it’s not for everyone. It’s kind of overkill for the streets. Does everyone need a Type R, absolutely not. I only have 800 miles on it and I consider myself a fast driver but this car is scary how quick it is. It allows you to do REALLY stupid things and fast. Hahah!

You need this tuning device called Ktuner. It has preloaded basemaps that can reduce rev hang, but if you want it gone even more than that, you can buy a tune from them that was created specifically for this car called TSP Stage 1 (or 2)
Congrats on the new car, great choice!! I'm not a "Honda guy" but I do admire them. I think they did a great job with the infotainment... in most aspects, it can hold its own if compared to BMW's iDrive and Mercedes' MBUX imho. Honda's walk away auto lock and remote start totally surpasses the German systems. BTW, your complaint regarding rev hang is totally absent in the CTR, so I'm sure theres a tune available that can address that. It's d

For someone that has been driving civic si 2 door since 2013-2017 model the change are extremely little it's basically the exact same car as 2017 si hatchback. Wish Honda would put some real effort in the SI,. Seems like they are afaird a slight improvement will insult the Type R.
Honestly I would have saved the extra money and got the Type R. It would have been worth it. One thing I don't like about the Si is the rev hang. With the Type R it's not there. I don't regret getting one.
Faking engine sound could be a comprise for both passengers and outsiders, you got inside the loud sound, outsider get a calmer sound. Maybe Honda looks after less noise pollution environment. As usual compromises didn’t fully satisfy both sides.
@Cameron Hill..... I am thinking about buying the same car in the same color just 4 door. If you dont mind me asking, did you pay msrp or less? and at the end of the day how much did you really spend? fees/taxes/base price? any incentives that knocked down the price as well?

So my only complaint with certain civic models are the LED headlights and or tail/brake lights. I was told let's say for example you have LED brake lights. If a brake light goes out you have to replace the entire Unit not just the bulb and will cost upwards of $500? If that's true that really sucks. I just leased a 2019 2 door civic lx. Nice Lil car
Martino Valentino the brake light is halogen stock and will run 15-20 halogen or led for a pair. The tail light is led but you can order a replacement online for 60-100 dollars and swap it yourself in 5 minutes, just a few screws
Neither car is expensive to maintain, but ill tell you what, the 9th gen is even less expensive to maintain for many reasons. I had a 9th gen and I absolutely loved it. I beat the absolute shit out of it and it never complained at all. I love the 9th gen
Haha that’s awesome! And the 9th gen sounds like a great choice for me then! I feel like it’d be easier to still work on it myself and I feel that with the 10th gen I’d have to take it to the dealership to get everything done there.

Very nice car. I bought my WRX in 2012 and still driving it. I just put new brakes and rotors all around and soon I’ll be doing new tires. So, given the money for those normal wear and tear parts, I’ll drive it at least another year. The SI could be my next ride in 2021.
8:10 when you are complaining about the sound, this car can also be bought with an NA VTEC K20 that lives in the shadow of the 1.5 because people likes turbos and minimal power gains now
I have the 9gen 4 door in white and I love it. Have an N1 invidia exhausts and a mugen wing. Dropped 2 inches.
SpacexStocks 2020 nice! I love the 9th gen. I had one and I miss it
I’m not sure if you are aware of the oil dilution problem 10 gen Honda’s have. The earthdreams engine has it for sure. So it important to go synthetic and change your oil no more than 4K miles. Honda is working with oil companies and they will be releasing a new oil for the 10 gens on May this year. GDI something a complete new oil, Anyway great SI congrats 🍾
SpacexStocks 2020 i am aware. And letting it properly warm up before driving and everything to take the best care of it I can. And good to know!
The reason it is not the same color black by the fog lights is because that’s where the millimeter radar is located and it’s a special cover that can’t be painted.
Damn! This is when I started watching you! Cool to see this video coming back up in my recommended videos.
I had this car. The easiest and best way I found to reach for the seatbelt is to underhand reach for it from below. Nice review
Bob O that is what i do!!
Honda makes me want to actually go to the dealer to buy a civic Coupe.
VTEC "Kicks in", Turbos "Spool Up". :) Excellent review. Thanks for sharing.
The door pillar on the 2-door models, which attaches the seat belt, is located a little further back than the 4-door models. That is why you need to reach further back to get the seat belt.
Last week my Honda dealer gave me very bad news: The coupe is discontinued in north America (Si, Touring, Sport and all the other trims) 2020 is the last year of civic 2 doors production! Lucky I got my 2020 early this Year. Good bye Civic Coupe THE BEST 2 DOOR EVER!
Your story is exactly like mine I had a 2015 modern steel coupe which sadly got totalled in March and I love and miss my two tier instrument panel😞This coupe has grown on me and I frankly love the changes Honda made for the 2020 all for just $700 more. I am undecided between getting the black or modern steel coupe. Also test drove the new 2020 Toyota Camry TRD....very very nice ride. Next year I will make my decision 👍 Thanks for the video bro!
I LOVE THE CAMRY TRD!! But for lots more money than the si, and the technology you get with the si is incredible. And yes, i was looking for a black, white, or red, but they didn’t have any of those in the 2020 model near me
@@Camhill182 No doubt the price tag is steeper with the TRD. Amazingly it doesn't have heated front seats or a moon roof- both of which the Si has. You are correct that the tech is better so it seems like a no brainier. Next summer I may inbox you to help me make that choice lol👍
smileusob75 hell yea, ill be sharing more about my purchase experience and updates on driving the car, so I hope that helps you make a decision
@@Camhill182 absolutely. Just subscribed so I'll definitely be following your videos ...good work! (And if I settle on the Si I am definitely getting that Hondata kit)
smileusob75 thank you!
Congratulations man. I just got my 2020 civic si today.
Congrats brother
Honda is killing the industry bro no cap.
Rewatching old Cam vids cuz im gunna miss the civic when he sells it lol
lol!
the separate fans buttons is definitely the greatest change they made. Having to go into the climate to change the fan speed infuriates me with my 2018 Type R
Nice. I also went with MSM but in the sedan. Here's my fav things about the car (outside of subjective aesthetics). #1 Handling. #2 Trunk space. #3 Shifter. #4 MSRP of $25k #5 Residual!
When they put back in a k24 then I’ll think about getting one
I wish they would my friend
Lol you're gonna stay waiting
I have a 2020 Si Coupe as well. Mine is black though. Love it. Really fun to drive. Funny you mentioned you're not a fan of the seats. Ever since I got the car, that's one thing I've loved about the car. I find those seats comfortable and sporty looking. I love them. Only thing I hate about the car is the rev hang. That can make the car jerky between shifts. I find it's not as bad when the car is warmed up though. Overall, beautiful car and I'm happy I have it. I'll definitely have it for years to come.
The bigger the liter engine, the better it sounds. That's why I use the 1980's 8v71 Series V8, 2-stroke Detroit diesel in my 1998 Honda Hatchback.
my first car love which i leased 9th gen civic sedan, that interior was class full!!!
What year? I had a 2013 civic si sedan and i loved it, but it didnt have the touchscreen
I had a 19 Civic sport sedan
Kinda stupid how the si has more features than the type R for its price point, like sunroof, lane assist, etc...
It is. The type r seems kind of overpriced in my opinion
So versatile.
phw340 well said. I tested the type r and even tho I didn’t end up getting it, I thought it would be worth every penny. Really amazing to drive.
Hahah!
Have you seen Hyundais? They are loaded imo
Listen, get a tsp stage 1 tune, delete the mufflers, NOT the resonator, and get an intake, that is all you need and the car will feel amazing
timmybomb21 i have my PRL cobra intake on the way, and plan on the AWE Touring exhaust. I will eventually get the TSP stage 1
@@Camhill182 nice! That will be cool
Can you turn off the automatic braking and lane assist options on it?
Yes you can. Auto braking comes on every time you turn the car on, but you have to enable lane keep assist
Cameron Hill sweet thanks man
Moving up in the world!
Got my brand new black 2019 Civic EX coupe in early November because my first car finally gave in, didn’t do much research except relying on my eyes & taste for the right car. Still have the plastic wrap on the screen + the airbag paper to keep that new feel. Also agree that I have to do an arm stretch to get to my seatbelt.
The coupe design is so beautiful😍 Also planning on ceramics, tint. Maybe wait a bit on the exhaust. And learn more car terms.
i think the newest ill go for a honda in general is maybe an 06, oldest i’ll go is 91 ek hatchback, just can’t get used to how big they’re going with the new cars. i love them little go karts.
I just got a 2020 Honda Civic coupe sport. I love it it’s in red it looks a lot like yours just doesn’t have those seats and the back looks different doesn’t have the fin on back.
You have the potential to be the best car
reviewer on CZcams. Keep it up.
man this grey 2020 Honda Civic Si sure is pretty.
Great review Cameron thanks for sharing on the FB forum. One big suggestion. Tint would set this off, otherwise enjoy man.
Thank you for the kind words! I will be modifying this car for sure. Ceramic coat, tint, reasonable exhaust, all that stuff

Badass dude!
After watching this im so excited to get mine in 1 month, but one question cause im pretty new to car, what mods do you use to get rid of the rev hanging ?
You need this tuning device called Ktuner. It has preloaded basemaps that can reduce rev hang, but if you want it gone even more than that, you can buy a tune from them that was created specifically for this car called TSP Stage 1 (or 2)
Cameron Hill okay 👌🏻 thanks for replying, btw keep making youtube i like the way you get into the details, youre gonna blow up someday
Link please.....
I don't understand not opting for the sedan over the coupe. They are the same price, and surprisingly, the same weight.
I decided solely on looks. I think the sedan is hideous
I have had a few Civics. No Si's. I did have a 2001 GS-R Integra. I want this exact cars so bad! Congrats on your new Si.
Im jealous! I would love an Integra
It's d
Randomly clicked on this and realized you're doing pulls on the same street I take cars on to test them out. 😂
Solid spot to send it.
You work at folsom honda?
Too bad if you added a sideskirt on your ride, the splash guard wouldn't fit anymore.
Chuu Chuoo well, id rather have the sideskirt. Idk, we’ll see what happens
I miss my 10th Gen Si Coupe =( Only had it one year and traded it for a Tacoma (needed a truck). This color is easily the best looking in my opinion. Once I am able to again I am going to get another Civic Si, you just get so much for the price
Nice! I love the Tacomas. Good choice. And yea man, you get so much for the price. Its awesome. Im impressed with Honda
I have a 13 si and love it way too much to get a 10th gen but tbh these are growing on me. Wicked sad the coupe is discontinued for the 11th gen
So glad they cleaned up the dash
Spend about 4hrs on the road driving a Civic Sport. You'll love the Si seats after that.
David Davis alright alright, i was TRYING to find things i didnt like to give an honest impression
Love your videos man! I love the new changes over the 2019 like mine, I'm kind of for those in cabin fake engine sounds. I like it
Hey buddy cheers up after I saw your video went to buy my Honda Civic SI white and black red Interior lovely Manual
I wonder if we can purchase something too put on top of headrest too pull down and keep hooked too seatbelt?
I was thinking the exact same thing! I willl look into it
8th gen owner , really debating whether to invest in the new Si or not . Turbocharged would be nice stock but just that 1.5L is kinda scary and without the integration of vtec just push me away from it . But good review definitely opened me up more
VERYRAREVRYAN I love the 8th gens myself, even the 9th gen, so this feels like a watered down version of an si. Doesnt even feel like an si, actually
There is one thing that i can’t understand the si model is differrent from the sport plus model? They seems like ti have the same engine
The Car is Looking Like a Fine Wine
Will buy 4 door sedan and some mods its badass
I learned to drive stick in my 2012 si. You’re right better to learn on a standard stuff with no technology helping
I want the accord coupe back I like the civic but it's to little for me
Miguel Lucero most likely going to trade my 2014 accord coupe 6 speed manual for one of these cars
Unity Performance sells replacement side markers for the Si, they look so much better!
The rev hang is there to help with emissions, there are videos out there that explain it. You should go with a hondata to get more power.
Brent. You’re very behind on my videos bro
@@Camhill182 I just realized that! lol
@@Camhill182 And I'm in West Sacramento so we're kinda neighbors. I have an 8th gen SI myself.
@Cameron Hill..... I am thinking about buying the same car in the same color just 4 door. If you dont mind me asking, did you pay msrp or less? and at the end of the day how much did you really spend? fees/taxes/base price? any incentives that knocked down the price as well?
I paid invoice, which is 24,388, and then i got a $500 military rebate on top of that, and then 5500 trade in value, so im financing about 21 because taxes and fees are crazy in california
Cameron Hill perfect thank you
@@sethfilep3958 I recommend going on the dealership's website and negotiating as much as you can over email/phone before even stepping foot on the dealership
Great vid! My brother has a 2019 model, and he let me drive it for a couple days and its so much fun. Def considering getting one
SparkySquier be quick! They are discontinuing it this year.
Sweet ride man. Good luck with it
So my only complaint with certain civic models are the LED headlights and or tail/brake lights. I was told let's say for example you have LED brake lights. If a brake light goes out you have to replace the entire Unit not just the bulb and will cost upwards of $500? If that's true that really sucks. I just leased a 2019 2 door civic lx. Nice Lil car
That's what the dealership told me
Martino Valentino the brake light is halogen stock and will run 15-20 halogen or led for a pair. The tail light is led but you can order a replacement online for 60-100 dollars and swap it yourself in 5 minutes, just a few screws
Great video! I’ve been debating whether to buy a 2015 si or just go ahead and get a 10th gen si. Is this car expensive to maintain?
Neither car is expensive to maintain, but ill tell you what, the 9th gen is even less expensive to maintain for many reasons. I had a 9th gen and I absolutely loved it. I beat the absolute shit out of it and it never complained at all. I love the 9th gen
Haha that’s awesome! And the 9th gen sounds like a great choice for me then! I feel like it’d be easier to still work on it myself and I feel that with the 10th gen I’d have to take it to the dealership to get everything done there.
Miguel Ángel I wouldnt say that you’d have to go the dealer for everything with a 10th gen. You can still do all the bolt on mods and install Ktuner with the tunes yourself
The rev hang is due to the light weight flywheel. Or I think so but the 2013 si use do the same I had a coupe.
Very nice presentation, and congratulations for the car.
Anybody know if that ridiculous "enhanced" engine noise that plays through the speakers can be disabled at least?
Thank you! I will see about turning that feature off and let you guys know in a video soon
Can't turn it off without permanently removing things.
Stop being a lemming and repeating what other plebs say. I test drove one at the cpo lot the other day and it sounds worlds better than my bro's 2019 shitty engine sound...you've never driven it so stop repeating what other parrots say. (Congrats on the car btw)
Ted Theodore Logan haha thanks man. It would still be an interesting topic to cover for a short video. Ill gather a bunch of feedback about that feature from the Facebook groups and CZcams comments and talk about it a little
