  • With this current 'situation' going on its going to be a long time before i can collect the spares for this project. Theyre 10,000km away and im not going back there till they reopen the pubs.
Ill most likely forgotten how it goes back together so im having a play with it to remind me what went where.
Today im sorting out why the powervalves wouldnt open properly and its as i suspected ..... fuqtardery.

Stock CR250R has nearly 60HP - do you really need more power? LOL If so, CR500 is calling your name. Great video and demo on the PV, always great to learn more and more about these bikes. So did you get it corrected?

I dont need more power.... just the power it had before some asho with a screwdriver thought they could find more. Ive just this week got the barrel replated after a 10,000km trip to a plating shop. Only waited 3 years for that to happen, next up is finding someone who can press n true a tin plate crank without butchering it up.

I got a few laughs out of your vid for sure. But...did you figure out how to "time" it correctly and if so can you share that info? Working on one right now.

Thanks for reminding me ive still got it. Short answer is NOPE. The big C came along so ive stayed out here in thailand while £1500 pounds worth of spare parts are stuffed behind my neighbours sofa in the uk. They cant nikasil barrells here and no way am i letting them eff with the crank. The remains of the bike are buried in the back of the shop.

theres always a screwdriver shoved where it shouldnt go here, in the search of 'more power'.

sorry, im not getting notifications. im in thailand, its hard to say without seeing your bike but start with a standard tune up and then start to dig deeper, are the valves opening right? does it smoke too much? does it drip oil? ots of things to run through.

So typical with dirt bikes. People do the dumbest things because they do not know better or they try to fix something with the cheapest method. I found a clutch issue you may find interesting. I posted it on my page. czcams.com/video/u8RmoskMoYw/video.html

Theres no stops on the reed valves either. I expect some twat threw them away to get 'more power'!
