- This week I buy, unbox and and review the Honda GX25 powered Victa PRO 25cc straight shaft brush cutter. With both cord and blade head options the machine provides plenty of power in a quiet and refined package. Subscribe for a new video each week! New content uploaded every weekend.

I have used loads of different strimmers. The Honda gx 25 is by far the best engine it runs for ages on one tank you have far more control than a 2 stroke as you can get alot of low down torque. The engine lasts alot longer as 4 stroke lubrication is better. I would say it's more productive than 2 stroke. It has less power but more torque and torque gets work done.

The only real down side is weight it is 1kg heavier than a 2 stroke but I never found it a issue. I would never buy another 2 stroke brush cutter.
Never sthil 2 stroke heaps better and a lot more fun.
Is 4stroke 35cc is good enough to cut long grass and weeds efficiently???plz answer
Debojit I’ve got a Stihl 4 mix KM130R 36cc 4 stroke. It’s stupidly powerful.
@@debojit7566 yes
Worth noting to change the oil first month or 10 hours use to get rid of break in shavings. Worth it for peace of mind and only 80 ml. Mine runs like a dream had it nearly 6 years now and still starts nearly first pull.
Another informative video, thanks.
I switched from 2 stroke bent shaft brush cutters, to a Honda GX25 straight shaft brush cutter after the motor of a bent shaft just fell off while in use. One of the best moves I made, starts first time every time. I've been that impressed with the Honda 4 stroke engines that the only 2 strokes I have now are my chain saws. In fact my Honda lawnmower was stored for 18 months, I didn't drain the fuel (forgot in the rush of house moving). When I came to start it I was expecting problems but after 6 pulls it started! Ran a little rough for a few minutes then as good as ever.
Keep the videos coming please, I've learnt lots of great tips from them.
I have the 35cc Honda trimmer for 4 or 5 years now. I like it fine. Lately the exhaust burned thru the plastic cover over the muffler. Kinda inadequate materials but not a show stopper. I just opened up the hole so the exhaust blows straight out the side.
that's the video I like - short, well edited... you explained the trimmer and you demonstrated how it works
Another great video and honest review. Thex4 stroke seems just as compact as my 2 stroke brushcutter. That is amazing value too. Greetings from Ireland
The 4 strokes does not indicate more spsce,
The displscement in the cylinder or CC is gonna def increase its size too
Great review v well presented. You beaut! Honda motors are among the best!!
Fantastic, I’ve got some long stuff on my place. I was looking at one of these ! Fantastic review 🎉
Just got one , the 35cc and it started on the second pull.
Is it smooth to cut long grass and weeds?
I have the Kaaz branded Honda 4 stroke whipper snipper that is 16 years old now and im so terrible that i've never changed its oil but its still going strong but its the GX35 engine and it is very impressive still.... considering giving it a service lol
16 years and no oil change? impossible mate you’d have no oil left
tip, keep your nylon cord in water.
Gooday Tim, I was absolutly amazed to see these nylon straight line strips and the fitting seems to be a lot easier than the bump and go method, you have won me, great vid and just subbed, thanks.
Have a look at speed feed heads. They are excellent. Also Tim, how's that brushcutter held up since you got it?
379$ here in USA
I use the ninja star always, better than the wire, dont have to rev the engine even 50%
can you change the spin direction (clockwise or counter clockwise) of the cutting blade?
Nope
Put a speed feed 450 on it won't regret it mate
Metal blades aren’t very good because you can’t get edges of concrete without smashing it.
Got 2 of theses and one is so old the carbi is so old it has corroded all the seals lol I am going to buy a car I rebuild kit because the primer has holes in it and the fuel line can’t get fuel to it but the other on is newer and has far more use already and my mum has one hers is a but hard to start but if you get he choke in the right spot it start like 3rd pull it is the old string line one gets tangled a lot love it best trimmer ever. I did have a stihl or however you spell it and like the chainsaw I got it’s shit it won’t start you need starter fluid on you or a can of INOX on you and the air box in half to get it going live this everyone need one
Thinking of getting a second hand gx25, or husqvarna 129rj or husqvarna 232r....... No idea what to get!!!
Hi handsome, may I recommend a 2023 honda gx35 verisystem .
Handsome…… hmmmmm
I think about Honda GX25 and Honda GX35. What do you think?
350x atc is the only thing I think
AWESOME HONDA
Great video. Any comments about the difference between the curved neck and the straight neck?
@@FarmLearningTim thanks for that. Do you notice a difference in use in terms of how you hold the trimmer? I find my curved neck one a little awkward in some situations...
Melbourne, Australia $570, $400 for the bare gx25 engine .
Mai ese crops cutting me use Karana chahata Hu to Kya ye tool esake sath mil jayega
Can you please tell me how heavy is the machine and can you adjust the lenght as I am a shorty and also can not carry heavy things. I have an electric Ryobi but I am absolutely hate it. I have a small hand and take of the battery is so difficult. I have to press one side to a corner of a brick push it and the same time push the otherside with my hand. Even than I gave to struggle to take the battery off. If I knew how difficult I would of never bought the b.thing. So now I am looking for anothet which I can use easily. Also I am buying the refill like no tomorrow so a metal blade would be the solution for me. Let me know please if you can would be suitable fof a short woman to use this machine. Thank you. Also I had to subscribe. I am only 4 years on the land lot to learn. Cheers
Can I ask where you purchased the victa Pro ?
And do they still make them
Honda 25cc 4 stoke straight shaft are $599
Hey mate, I got it at the local field day. No idea about pricing now. Milk was a buck a litre when I did that review! It’s still going strong without missing a beat though….
No problem… I’ve tried to chase one down, but are all 2 stroke , might have to fork out $599
In where market place will get this honda product
THE CHEAP botton of the line Honda strimmer for home use , would that be any good ? or pay twice as much for the honda model above ?
@@FarmLearningTim Thanks Tim , i am starting a lawn care business and have see the honda ums 425 eln it has a curved shaft but i am undecided between this and an electric makita , the honda is 200 euros and the makita with battery charges and battery is 350 euros
Add mo number send
My cutter stops after I put choke off
Plz tell me wot to do
why is it a victor when it's the same as the honda?
honda is the engine
Bloody hell mate, don't do any more (positive) reviews PLEASE , that little bugger is now $500!!!!!
Honda or Victa?
Victa used the Honda motor
Only one
4 stroke line trimmers are trash, 2 stroke any day. I even went back to 2 stroke mowers, far less issues.
Mowers are made so cheap now. I'd take an old Lawn Boy anyday over the new trash
My brushcutter machine engine is 50cc 2 stroke engine, so powerfull machine, i use 16 inch blade, very fast for cutting weed
How it holding up?
Hi Tim. Impressive. Is Honda GX25 same as the GX35...?
Thank you Tim. Gonna start wz GX35.
would you buy a used one of these on ebay? say 2014 model

Always be careful buying small engines on eBay. Often poorly maintained

Check out your local Honda dealer mate
Can someone share a link from where can i buy this please

Sir how much MRP
Sorry. A genuine Honda 4 stroke at $300?? No!!! That has to be a Chinese/Thailand knockoff motor. I put one on my old GX35 Honda, cost $250, it only lasted 18 months before it blew a gudeon bearing. The original Honda GX35 went ok and lasted quite a few years, but suffered on our hilly block. While Honda claim the 4 stroke 'splash' lubrication system will handle these conditions, my experience tells me thats not true. ( I am a mechanic). Consequently, I have gone back to a 2 stroke motor...spent a few dollars more on a Husquvana.
This was a few years ago now. Bought in a stock clearance. Genuine motor. Hasn’t skipped a beat. As long as you use the thing respectfully it works a treat. No lies here buddy
@@FarmLearningTim Thanks for clearing that up. I thought I had been ripped off even though I love this GX25.
Tens um aspecto de trabalhador, não parece que trabalhes a sério.
Deita te a dormir, ganhas mais.
$300 is a lot of money, mate.
NOT HONDA, that is a chinese CLONE
NO, you do not cover up a GENUINE HONDA STICKER with a victa number, and anyway VICTA went bust and bought by BRIGGS & STRATTON who always pedal shite....@@FarmLearningTim
@@airport4173 Yep. Chinese rubbish clone. You can buy them on Ebay for $250 free delivery.
@@airport4173 its a legit honda engine so stfu
