This song is a Hindu Sanskrit prayer with an Indian accent. Great song. You should also react to Cyber-Raga included on the Japanese and Australian version of the Ray of Light album. Thanks for this review!
There is so much that happens in this song and it all fits together. Shanti you almost have to experience it with your heart and mind as much as your ears.

Madonnas work has had triphop influence to me since maybe Justify my Love. Would that be Proto-trip hop? Secret Garden, Waiting, I Want You (with Massive Attack. There was Indian influence on at least one Erotica remix. I think you should dive into that maxi single at some point. See how different each mix was. Her singles from that era are legendary.

That's interesting because I always felt like it perfectly separated the upbeat first half + of the album from the downbeat tracks at the end.
