LEGO City Update - Train Station MOC Part 5 - Installation đđč
VloĆŸit
- Äas pĆidĂĄn 3. 05. 2020
- The main train station for Brick Nottingham is now complete. I've even turned both trains around (so they go the right way) in honour of this memorable event. This video sees the tram, subway and rail systems finally become fully connected. Furthermore, I add amendments from viewer suggestions, trees, streetlights and even a pair of clockwork robots!

Suggestion: Change one of the 1x2 transparent tiles from yellow to no color ( at the vehicle of the day) to show that one of the lightbulbs is broken!
Came here to suggest exactly that. Great minds think alike!
That is a great idea! đđ»
Great plan. I'll do it!
@@RobinHoodBricks hi
Same suggestion here, except, use a black/brown trans to show it's burnt out.
The part I was waiting for! The train station to be installed.
Yesssssss!
Um yea ? Yesss!?
Robin Hood Bricks hey why donât you submit this one I will get it is the best train station ever
âWe donât want our minifigures getting mugged.â That made me laugh. Didnât know the streets of Brick Nottingham were so rough!
You'll have to keep watching. The number of different criminal gangs is disturbing, haha!
Just wow Robin... and joy joy joy this journey. Again to much to mention here about the complete area and fantastic station with all it's connections and lovely storytelling. Brick Nottingham really is alive! đđ»
Yes, and right at the centre of the room, as it should be. Originally I was going to have train loops around both halves but it takes up too much space for just a longer lap!
As you would say, your city is fantastic. The station feets very well in your downtown and it is full of life. It is always a pleasure to follow your builds.
Thanks, Julien. Very nice of you to say!
Raiding a unseen bricklink order. Tut tut Robin..... Great to see the station in place. Looks fab.
I know you're joking. You wouldn't want it complete but for the platform edges, now would you!
@@RobinHoodBricks At least you confessed on camera....
I seriously can't get enough of that ice cream, fries and burger combo on the front of the fast-food place, it's honestly beautiful!
Get everyone you know to support it and maybe one day you'll be building your own, haha!
@@RobinHoodBricks Haha, I can dream đ thanks for the motivation though!
I think this is among the best Brick Nottingham videos you've made, the way the station fits and mixes with the surroundings is just beautiful. If I may offer one suggestion, I'd remove the sign on the back of the subway entrance. After all there is no need for it to be double-sided, people can access it only from the platform and the back of the entrance just faces grass between the railway tracks.
Haha, I considered that but figured, in the end, that it's more colour and consistent with the others. Thanks for your lovely praise!
YES
Yes indeed!
Fantastic scene with the station . It fits well in the city and all comes together and fits together.
Thank you. Yes, I agree. I'm really happy with it!
Awesome station. All that sticker-moving really paid off on the stairs.
Thank you.
Yes it did. Doing 42 on the trot wasn't the most fun, even with all that tea to drink!
I like how you have based your LEGO City on Nottingham but with your own twists
Yes, me too. It's not very similar but the castle, town square and tram make it feel like home. And the Goose Fair too I guess!
Looks fantastic! The golden apple in the tree is such a great little detail!
It was in my bag of fruit. I got it in a haul as a curiosity. It's great to buy random stuff as you never know when it might be useful!
Truly majestic and beautiful! It is kinda funny that you didn't put another cab in, but you did manage to find another yellow car to put in!
I genuinely looked on eBay to try and get a last minute fifth cab, haha.
Maybe I should've just kept adding the same ones by passing them behind the camera? Six, seven, eight... Oh well!
Congratulations on finishing a great looking train station RHB! Thanks for bringing us along with you again.
Thank you too, for coming along for the ride. It was fun. I'll do a few smaller builds for a while I think, phew!
Wow, with everything in place it definitely looks very busy! But very awesome particularly once the trains are running. The tram integration works really well. Once again I love your attention to little details, Robin, as you really fill out all these scenes so well -- it does make it seem like a hoppin' metropolitan center, not just a lego town. :)
Awww thanks, Matthew. Yes I think there's some real art in stage dressing each area with fun people and scenes!
It looks so amazing, to repeat myself,â€đđ now it's in place, you can see the full effect of the station in its surroundings. Fantastic,đđșđđ
31:43 Never mind, they've missed their train anyway, it's already ten to twelve. đ
What an incredible build, it's made me very nostalgic for those old Lego stations from when I was a kid.
I'll take that as success then as nostalgia was exactly my aim. Yesss!
So very very awesome!! The station looks fantastic!! Great job Robin đđđ
Glad you like it!
Wow the station came together great and really looks amazing in the city. It really ties everything together. All the little details and scenes really make it come alive. Looking forward to the next video and update. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you. Yes I think the fact that it isn't distinct but rather binds everything together is its best feature!
Amazing! Greate work! The trainstation fits in pefekt!
Thank you very much!
Wow, it looks absolutely amazing! What a work!
And this time I did see the vehicle of today. đ
Phew. Glad you caught it!
That's not going to happen a second time, haha. I do like my sigfig skull is on the beach board walk. đ€©
Great to see how all this is come together. And I agree with you. To place trees at the side of the station
It needs the green and the height. Yes!
Fantastic to see the station in place, it fits in perfectly - but of course we know that is because you planned it properly! Another vibrant area of Brick Nottingham finished, bravo! Would love to see a traincam video now that the station is completed.
A friend of mine said they were able to make an order with online PAB the other day (although Bricks & Pieces is still closed). Your wallet probably won't thank me! đđžđžđž
PAB is open but I don't think they're making anything as no grey tiles are available. They must've run out. TrainCam is a good shout but my back was killing me after that long session leaning over. It took the entire of Sunday!
What a FANTASTIC result!!! Beautyfull! Joyfull to watch! đđ€©
Wow, thank you. It was a great video that took a long time to do, haha!
@@RobinHoodBricks I can imagine!!
I love your city!! I wish LEGO would pay you for your builds! Iâm old school, I love 80s early 90s LEGO. But your creations have gotten me liking new era LEGO more. You have gotten me pumped to start my late 80s early 90s town moc. Iâm doing the old LEGO catalogue style with styrofoam mountains and rolling hills with styrofoam landscape. Great job as always Robin Hood!! Keep up the great work my friend
Thank you so much. I like the more modern stuff but I like to keep it like a dense catalogue setup and not at all like real life!
Finally! You installed the main train station! Very nice! I also supported your fast food corner, good luck!
Thanks, Matthew. Awesome news!
Excellent use of that golden apple. An alternative idea would be to have it drop on a Minifig (maybe Deadpool for a bit of irony, given that he already has immortality of sorts).
I don't have a Deadpool. Wow, he's expensive!
The freight train going slower than the passenger train is one of my favorite realistic elements. It's jarring to me when all the powered elements in a city are running at the same speed. It's like Camazotz
Glad my attention to detail soothes so many with a similar affliction!
Literally JUST made a LEGO Ideas account just to support the Fast Food Corner because it's just that amazing of a moc!
Very kind, thank you!
Love the train station. Best train station moc I have ever seen.
Well hopefully you've seen a lot of LEGO train stations. That would mean so much!
@@RobinHoodBricks I have on youtube and if yours did not have the extra platform and was an Ideas set I would definitely get it.
Loved seeing this series come to a complete, or at least for now brick quantity/inventory depending. Canât wait for the next project!
Thank you. Yes, I'll have to plan wisely for the next few weeks, now no emergency tile orders are possible!
Robin Hood Bricks itâs the same in đšđŠ, trying to source sets and parts as best as I can, as safe as I can. But itâs hit and miss, some weeks itâs a gold mine of people cleaning out there old sets or parts, other weeks theyâve all been snagged. Best of luck with the hunt for bricks!!
It feels like forever when Iâm waiting for your videos, but the wait was always worth it when the videos come. You honestly are my favorite lego CZcamsr and one of my favorite youtubers in general, and Iâm so suprised you donât have thousands more subscribers!
Thanks so much for your high praise.
Maybe people need to spread the word. I'm not very good at marketing myself, as I don't really do social media etc. Only CZcams. Maybe it's because I've been going for less time? My growth is still good!
Robin Hood Bricks yes you are doing well! But I will spread the word!
What can I say? I have super enjoyed everything having to do with the train station and beach and such. Very well done. I have learned a great deal from watching you. Thank you for all your marvelous videos. Carry on!!! :)
Great to hear.
I may have to do some easier videos for a while as they have taken ages to do, haha. Maybe desk based ones. I'm knackered!
I love all the details you have done in every platform and nothing that I can find that I don't like and love the overpasses you have done
By the way very amazing video thanks for the great video Robin
Thank you so much. I love that station area. It was amazing to bring together at the end!
Absolutely love the entire train station build.
I agree, the âtreesâ really add a lot to the scene.
I recently purchased a pile of tree pieces to continue âgreeningâ my city.
Really admire your attention to detail and all the unique ideas, aka....the robot reunion.đ
Also.......as I was scrolling around yesterday I came across your video Brick Haul #1. I watched with great interest as you were explaining that you had just recently expanded into another room, which would allow you to greatly expand your vision for your city. May I, on behalf of all your viewers and subscribers say, Thank You....to your wife (Mrs Hoodđ) for allowing you to fulfill your dream. We owe her a debt of gratitude. Three cheers for the Mrs.đ
Haha, thanks. Yes I really like the Robot Reunion.
Hip hip, horray, horray, horray!
Great video! is it just me or does the back part of the buildings really look diverse and colorful. The garden at the top of the detectiveâs office adds more color and life. It makes it closer to real life situations. A small suggestion might be to add an advertisement between the detectiveâs officeâs windows. He could advertise his business to people going in and out of the station.
I totally agree. It looks great. I think I have some more adverts too!
Really nice! Love the modifications to that classic LEGO train station set.
Well it's really a mashup of at least three older train sets with a few more modern elements thrown in but I'm glad you like it. You can't beat a yellow station!
@@RobinHoodBricksstill on my list to buy!
nice
Why, thank you!
You are the first person to comment on this video. . 11 months ago lol
The station just look fantastic now that it is in place.
Yes, I agree. I'm very happy with it!
Very impressive! That poor man that dropped his ticket. I hope a gust of wind doesn't blow it away! I even don't mind all the yellow now that it is in the city. How about a couple of policemen coming up from the detectives office, they received a tip that there is a bad guy on the the train.
There's bad guys everywhere in my city, haha. Good idea though!
Looks fantastic! I love all the details. They really make the whole thing work. Bravo!
Bravo, more!
Convert the interior of the detectives office into a signalling and dispatch center. It would look so cool. Great build!
Thank you very much!
I am really enjoying your content and look forward to each new video! I saw your MOC on Lego Ideas! A definite vote for me! It would totally fit in with the esthetics of the current Lego Modular Buildings.
Awesome, thank you!
If you find more of those tiny bird pieces that come in whiteor azure, you can put a few in the trees!
I have two!
Wow Robin, the station integrates perfectly into the City, absolutely fantastic work.
Awww thanks, Matty!
Now itâs all in it does look pretty epic. The departure boards all in a line are really affective. Bit ironic thou that the clock is reading 11am and theyâre all waiting for the 9:28 train. đ€ Platform 4 does look good as 8 studs now itâs all in. As you said things get built in whatever space there is available. Especially when you look at London overground stations. Top marks!! Cute trees btw.
Thank you for your score. Appreciated as always!
It looks great finally in place next to fast food corner and links really well with the other side and the monorail. Good luck with the competition, my vote is in! Good luck with the tiles too, I hope you're getting some decent money from the adverts as that is a lot of tiles you've used, but is definitely worth it! đ°
Thanks so much.
Well the money is awful, at this scale, compared with the day job so no joy there yet, haha. However it is enough to ease the pain of spending a big wedge on very boring bricks. I just need LEGO to go back to work!
Naturally, this ended up looking great! I really like how you've integrated the official modular buildings. And, the fact that you can now view this from two sides is particularly awesome! Really neat! I noticed that your ideas set passed 1500 supporters already - really cool! Hope you get many more! Thanks for sharing your creativity and keep up the great work :-)
Thank you very much. Yes, Fast Food Corner support is growing very nicely.
I always thought the train station should be right in the middle of the room as not many buildings work so well from all angles. That's also why it isn't enclosed. You'd lose all that cool stuff!
@@RobinHoodBricks Agreed! No sense in losing cool stuff :-D
Iâve been waiting for this for a long time! I like how you fixed the side the trains run on
I knew my train peeps would like that!
!!!For your trees, I saw an awesome technic just recently! Put part 6229130 on the studs of the leaves. You'll be surprised what it looks like!!!đđđ
Oh yes. I knew that. In a recent haul I got a bag of a hundred or so of them for that very reason.
Can't wait to try it!
I love the train station! You have my vote for the fast food corner. Suggestion: you should change out one of the yellow light bulbs for a clear one so indicate that itâs broken.
Yes a few people have said that. I like it!
Another fantastic video Robin! Very inspiring, would've loved to see the trains going past in the perspective of a minifig in the alleyway through the detectives office! Now that would be awesome! Anyways enjoyed the rest of the footage of the trains and the other perspectives!
That's a great idea. I was really tired by then as it took ages to do. Next time!
Looks really nice!!
It does. Thanks!
Just a little suggestion: if you replace the plates on top of the building by 1x1 plates with the tooth piece, it will look even more like a crown. Maybe in white, so it looks like marble or something...otherwise, I like how crowded and busy your city gets
I've done too many iterations of this now. It's only a tiny detail. i tried the tooth pieces and different colours and didn't like any of them. Haha, I'm sticking with this now I think!
Huge train station đđ»đđ»đđ»
Yeah, it's a biggie!
The train station looks fabulous in place. I really like how you've integrated the alleyway off Platform 4 through to the beach. The signage is great! Speaking of signs, if you want to upgrade the scissors on Al's Barber shop, the current Friends hair salon (41391) has a great 3D pair. We all know how much you love a 3D sign! Looking forward to what you build next !
Haha, yes that's very true. I do love a good 3D sign. I may do a ladies' salon in the future. Then the big scissors would be a must!
The crown detail is a great idea! Maybe one of those tooth pieces in the centre would help it look more like the shape of the crown on the shields?
The tooth piece doesn't come in yellow. I'm fine with that now, haha. Too many alternatives!
Fantastic! So good to see it in the city. Looks like such a hustling, bustling city now. I love how you got the alleyway from the detectives office. Made me chuckle when you mentioned about using all your tiles. Really are never enough!
And you got my vote on LEGO Ideas. Fingers crossed!
Thanks for your vote. It means a lot.
Yeah, I HAD a lot of tiles, now I seem to have run out of all of them at the same time with no more in sight!
As a Lego Train collector and Rail Enthusiast myself, I honestly donât know what those wand things are called either. But I do know that theyâre a German/Danish equivalent of a railway flag.
Waving or Stop trowel. Depends how you translate the good old german Winkerkelle in UK
I'm glad I'm not the only one!
Looks amazing also pressed surport
Thanks very much for the support!
It looks great Robin! I have a suggestion, you should make a police station and have an old British Morris Minor police car on display outside. I would really appreciate if you did that. But all in all excellent train station!
Sorry but I have no plans for a Police Station. I find it a little too clichéd. Fire Station too.
I will have a hospital!
Thanks Robin. I appreciate your feedback. It might be a bit late, but have you put an advertisement for Donut Fancy in your station?
@@brickbrotherstudios1813 I don't have another Donut tile sadly!
ARRRGH! It's called a Baton! XD XD XD
Where you've added the wall to stop people walking onto the track, it would be so much more realistic if you add another railfan peeking over it with his camera!
Ahh cool. I must remember not to call it a wand next time!
Awesome work Robin! I donât even have a LEGO city of my own but Iâm so addicted to watching your videos. You popped up on my recommended feed because my son watches LEGO speed builds, and now I get so excited when I see you have uploaded a new video! I do have one comment about the station - who needs a pay phone these days? Maybe just superman to get changed :) perhaps make it an old school enclosed booth with superman popping out?
Glad you enjoy them.
I do have plans for a Superman but in the air. I think payphones still exist for people who've lost their phones but I know what you mean!
Wow, you must be so proud of that station. It looks fantastic. Don't finish the city too soon ;)
I am, thank you. Well, we're roughly halfway I think so a minimum year more.
Even then I'm sure there'll be more to do!
You are an amazing MOC builder you deserve way more subscribers than you have
I can agree with you there!
The platforms look sooooooooooo awesome!
I wish I could get more bird pieces for a reasonable price. They should make more of them!
Many thanks for that first camera shot; it showed me how to place tiles on the ties (aka sleepers) on the Lego flex track. I was wondering how to do that, thanks Robin. The train station and platforms are a breathtaking addition to Brick Nottingham.
Cheers, Joe. Yes flex track is horrid stuff but a necessary evil if you want to move in units of four and not sixteen. Unless you go third party... Nah!
Well done awesome vidio looks great. Brilliant one . Big train station
Thank you very much!
Love how well it fits into Brick Nottingham.
Me too!
It almost like I planned it. Haha, thanks very much!
U can use 1x2x2 and 1x2x3 brown slopes for the tree trunks to both fill out the space u have remaining and make it more realistic. Also add a branch or two. U will see all this when u look into how to build the trees. Looks amazing yet again. I can't believe the amount of patients u have as far as having bricklink orders sitting there and not digging in.. I can't do it... Thanks again for another great video. I'm going to try to be patient till the next video but no promises...
Thanks, Will. Yes I've got a bag of brown slopes for that very purpose but it was a long day and I still had the edit to do so I did then very generically.
Leaving packages takes massive patience but I guess it's necessary for the hauls to be fun!
Absolutely brilliant! The way it reflects old station sets is superb and the subway entrance is just beautiful! Quick comment though, I think those particular gold coins are actually Playmobil, with a head side and a crown side. Lego Pirates had coins too but less orange in tone and with LEGO on one side and a numbers on the other, 10, 20, 30 and 40! Again, great work Robin!
I absolutely love your lego city !!! It is inspirational !!!
Hey thanks. Remember to subscribe!
Looks incredible, great work!
It worked out well. Thank you!
thanks for adding the pizza the tiles look great
No problem!
Hey, I've got some suggestions for your city :)
-Add a bus (or bus stop) to the main station. For example the one from 60154?
-You could use the Hidden Side Train (70424) as one of those old locomotives people can visit or put it next to the rails in use as a train out of use
-There could be a star arriving in one of the trains and a big crowd waiting for him? (A good way to get rid of minifigures you never use but want to use)
-You could add a person being robbed and superman helping him/her
-There might be a conductor speaking to a fare evader he caught in the last train
-There might be some policemen looking for illegal stuff (for example drugs)
Yes, I'm going to add a bus and bus stop to the front area of the station very soon!
Also he has a really good ballast
I really like my ballast as it's only one plate above baseplates so roads go over it easily, whilst still being very 3d!
Awesome job! Love the tiles and that over pass!
Thanks so much!
by far the best YT series! excellent episode :)
Well you clearly haven't seen my Fast Food Corner modular MOC series. It has it's own playlist called Modular Mondays. Check it out too!
@@RobinHoodBricks i meant your channel and the YT videos you are posting. I've seen them all lol and voted on Ideas for your creation!
Awesome Amazing content! congrats on all the support thus far!!!!!!
Thanks so much!
Maybe a bus station outside the train station?
My other suggestions are already mentioned by other commenters.
This is my favourite CZcams Lego city because of the progress, so keep it up!
I'm planning a bus stop for right out in front of the station but not a bus station as such.
I'll keep up with the releases but I may take a breather from big series for a couple of weeks. Phew!
@@RobinHoodBricks you deserve to kick off your shoes and relax too ;)
Awesome as per usual Robin. Congrats on 1500+ supporters on the modular. Can wait till wed for the next video
Awesome, thank you. Yes, it's going very well. Come on everyone. Vote!
Suggestion: swap the station signs over the passage, so it says "train" "station" instead of "station" "train"
One says station and the other says subway. The train picture is the logo of my subway system. The train is in a tunnel!
@@RobinHoodBricks maybe put safety gates for the level crossing for pedestrians
Well done. Looks very complete. I sort of copied your pharmacy in an up coming video. Liked the green and white sign. I remember seeing the signs like that when my wife and I went to Paris
Yes, well it's a fairly universal sign in, Europe at least. Glad you liked it that much!
Just a minor thing but I'm re-watching this series and I can't help but notice the line of green baseplate visible between the ballast and the platform. It really jumps out to me because it seems like a dark corner where nothing would grow. I would suggest putting just a thin line of dark grey plates with a couple of light grey studs (for texture) there.
Woo! Finally done!
Phew!
Great video i love the new station and it looks really good in brick Nottingham
It does. I'm really happy with it. It looks great from the door as well which is good for visitors / Mrs Hood!
Fantastic video. The only thing I'd change is the electric lorry around so that the cupboards (or whatever they're called) are on the other side, for the electrician's safety. I do understand if you want to keep it the way they are, since it makes it all more visible
Great suggestion. It was probably that way for continental drivers. I'll do it!
Looking fantastic, it has all come together incredibly well. Perhaps just a couple of signage suggestions?
1. Add an additional, more prominent sign to the pavement outside the Detectives Office, perhaps on some street furniture, indicating the cut-through so it can be seen by minifigs going up and down the street? (what do you mean they are not real?!)
2. A sign on the middle platform indicating the subway entrance? The subway entrance adds a lot of dynamism to the station, its third dimension, but looks a tad lost at the end of the platform there.
Have voted on Fast Food Corner and shared, best of British it getting it through the various stages, I shall be watching with keen interest.
Haha, thanks for the kind words. I guess I don't want to much sign repetition as it may fill up the areas I want for minifigures. I figure one sign at each is enough. They'll learn!
Youâve done a great job of bringing âlifeâ into Brick Nottingham. Excellent!
Glad you think so!
wow amazing video again, the train station is definitely coming together well!! Continue with your amazing work
Thanks, will do!
Love it, it definitely won me over...
Now, whatâs goin in between the Palace Cinema and the arcade?!?!?!?đ€Ż
I don't know. Haha, I have a few options or something new. Maybe modular number two!
Looks fantastic, well done!
Many thanks!
That is gorgeous, you've really outdone yourself with this build. Love how it fits in with all the other buildings and pylons, etc.
Yes, it's the product of a LOT of work and tinkering!
Omg it's so cool your able to create this, your sooo awesome
You're too kind!
@@RobinHoodBricks it is true
swop the two robots position around and put some flowers or an oil can in the dude robots hand;)
I like the oilcan idea
Can you get metallic flowers? That might be good. Nice idea!
The station looks fantastic, the whole set up of it in place in the city, with all the stations platforms and characters and the life - its packed with details. Also just a thought, about maybe adding some seats on the platform 2,3 and 4 for the older citizens. Also, also ever thought about adding green grass pieces in the small, empty spaces.
Thank you.
I left seats out because it's already crowded, but I could add more. I also didn't have any red seats left, although benches might look better anyway. Yes, plants need adding everywhere. I need to do that but the list is endless!
Absolutely amazing! Iâve been looking forward to this for ages. Really detailed and so interesting to look at. Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it!
That looks absolutely fantastic man. Love it đ đđâ€ïž
Glad you like it!
