Robin Hood Bricks , I just supported the set! Iâm supporter #7909 :). You got this sir!
So close!
im supporter 7942, its pretty safe to say its a set
8076 let's go!!
@@nobodyneedstoknow.7308 not unless the cowboy film set wins :(
I like how you add stuff to the train you should add a cinema carriage
Plenty more planned!
Australian LEGO fan thatâs a cool idea!
Hit the Bricks Ikr
That sounds like the best idea ever!
Love the new carriage and I'm sure hungry passengers will too... though the highlight for me has to be the views of (almost) the full city so far near the end of the video. It's been an inspirational journey!
Oh yes, I totally agree. What a view it was. When the room's full it'll be absolutely ridiculous!
I got that train set quite a few years ago and it never worked, but I was just plinking around the other day and I actually got it to work!
I know how you feel
That could be the start of a very expensive city, haha!
Robin Hood Bricks - I do have a sort of city but itâs so cramped because I donât want to leave any of my sets out! None are modular or have backs, theyâre all just normal sets haha.
Blaise Mahar - itâs great.
Looks cool. From the outside I can't tell a deference but I know that it is there.
A lot of interiors end up like that. Take my secret Mech Factory for example!
@@RobinHoodBricks your builds are really cool
Your builds are cool too LegoLiga Bricks
@@randomstuff4954 thank you! Glad you like them
What you've done is basically a BR Mk1 buffet car, where the bit you buy things from is right in the middle and there's seating either side
Great. Sounds about right!
Loving the birdâs eye view. What a gargantuan display!
And most intrigued by your sticker technique. Iâll be looking forward to that most definitely
Thanks so much. I kinda went overboard with the sticker techniques video. It is LONG but covers lots of different techniques. I'm so gonna get complaints, haha!
@@RobinHoodBricks I loathe stickers, so if your video manages to make me tolerate them, it'll be a roaring success!
I don't think it'll be that powerful, haha!
Bridge uses old blue railway track curves. Of course it does.
Deduct a point for no white sleepers anywhere.
They're there. Just not in train builds!
A little detail for the coffee machine could be that the 1x1 clear brick could be tinted brown so that it looks like itâs full of coffee.
That bit's the water reservoir. The coffee goes into the mug piece!
Thanks for hearting my comment :D
I donât know anything about coffee machines but now I vaguely remember that the entire point of coffee machines is too mix the coffee powder with water to make coffee
Couple ideas, you could change the servers hand to white or blue, to act as a glove, and than for the stag pub you could add a couple of black rounds bits with the flat white on top looks a lot like a Guinness.
I've got ales and stout at my ale pub, The Crown Inn. The Krusty Krab is for the lager drinkers!
Thank you for showing the city from above! Looks awesome and keep up the good content!
I'll have to stand on a stepladder more often!
Hi Robin: You do such good work! I did some modifications to this train to allow the use of Jacobs Bogies throughout. I moved the motor unit to the front end of the "locomotive" unit so that the Jacobs bogie could fit on the rear of this car and also modified the trailing unit in the same manner. I am now planning to add the Club Car and Buffer Car; again, everything running on Jacobs Bogies.
Sounds perfect. I'm a big fan of the Jacobs bogie. It should also leave a bit of space for some more underside bits and bobs. I've a good mind to do all my passenger trains likewise!
Nice job on amending the passenger car into a diner car! I really like the flow going through the car, that's probably the best way you can do that with the space your working with, it looks awesome. Oh boy I can't wait for the next video! I've been looking forward to that, even though I've watched your videos on how you've repositioned stickers, I'm always up to learning more especially without damaging the lego piece. Awesome that you had on all your trains going, even though it's not train cam, it's still very cool. Thank you for including the parts list you used to do the amendments. Great job Robin, awesome video!
Well your wish came true. Tomorrows PHTT video is VERY long but VERY thorough and has taken the best part of a day to make!
Thank you very much Robin for all the work you put into your videos!
The panorama coach is cool! In my opinion, replacing the red tiles above the wihte bricks would make it look even better.
Which red tiles are those? Thanks for the nice comment!
@@RobinHoodBricks Outsch... I should have said plates :-o ... the red 1x6/ 1x8 plates just up to the baseplate. (Just getting closer the the coulorus of the german ICE train)
However, that would mean also to replace these on the rest of the train; so in general, the "fault" was already made from lego.
You`re welcome :D
Very nice every Express train needs a buffet car
Yes, you're right!
It makes me smile listerning to your voice.
There's a parts list for this one!
The cement mixer makes me smile everytime. I was very happy to see a dedicated video. Beautiful work and thank you
Much appreciated, Noah!
Gotta do a full, custom, 1st class food car next. Less cramped and has actually seating XD
I kinda figured the first class passengers would get their food in the club car. That's my first class section!
I love it!! I added this detail to a couple of my trains always nice to have a dining car
Totally!
Love the new train carriage, very cool
Thanks so much!
I'm sorting LEGO while watching these looking awesome seeing your city with the trains and trams going around Brick Nottingham đđđ
Yes those high shots were great. I'll have to do more of those I think!
The poor man can never leave his post! đ± đ
Nobody ever gets off either. There aren't any doors!
It's great that you remove the windows with the bicycle stickers because I don't think you can store any in a narrow Buffet Carriage. Did you forget to include the vehicle of the day or you hinted to us that it's under the train bridge? Fire Boat from Lego City 60213.
No I did forget. Here endeth the resolution!
Proving that, even in minifig scale, itâs possible to represent the international colours for salt & vinegar, cheese & onion, and prawn cocktail crisps: nice.
It's funny cos I live in Spain, but I'm at uni in England and the colours for salt & vinegar and cheese & onion have been swapped round in each country. Imagine my surprise when I found out!
Depends on the brand!
I saw the shape and thought they HAD to be crisps!
@@patrickbaskett5738 There ought to be a law against that!
WOW this is SO COOL!!! I love the detailed interior. Keep up the amazing work!
Haha, thank you. You should look out for this Friday's video!
@@RobinHoodBricks Oh I will!
As usual now, more inspiration from Robin in this video : )
I'll be pinching the bar technique for a reception desk.
Please do. I deliberately did this slowly and in detail so people could copy it. Have fun!
The mugs on the windows make sense, as it is weird storing a bicycle in a buffet car. That is what the allocated carriages are for. Canât wait to see the processes of the Patented Hot Tea Technique! đč You must not forget about Robin Hoodâs quiver. Make sure it is full, as I am imagining a lot of arrows being shot by him! #PHTTđč!
I may have to do an arrow noise warning!
You have more detail in your buffet train car than I have in most of Sloth City.
Only the diner and the fire station have as much.
Oh well. I'm new to the AFOL Lego city scene. I'm just getting started.
You'll get there. All progress is good!
Loved the aerial shot of the city with the trains going round đ
Me standing on a stepladder trying not to wobble too much!
"Fantastic!..." Has you usually say. At the middle of this video, I was wonder "will he forgot to change the stickers from bicycle to bufet!..." of course not. Such detail can't be missed. đ
Haha, yes. That would've been a bad bet!
Nice and simple Mod, makes sense with the length of train you have got, on past experience i shudder to think of the quality of food they are offering though!
Haha, the crisps will be okay, but pricey!
Looking good Robin, we've just acquired this train set, looking to add a few carriages so nice to see another varied and lovely carrige from yourself. Also very nice to see your city from a birds eye view, it's looking very good.
Many thanks. Yes, the bird's eye view was great. Enjoy the train, it's my favourite!
Oh we will đ - this train is very smart, I prefer it to the train set currently being sold by Lego.
That may be coming soon!
that food car is going to be good
Thank you!
Almost there! 2200 to go!
Oh yeah!
I love watching the train zip around the city! Amazing!
Me too, haha. It's the best bit!
I actually made a carraige with a bar and one with a toilet that has a working round door with this set.
Very appropriate. I hate those toilets!
That turned out well mate! I don't think I've ever looked at your "blue" bridge in detail. There were some pieces that I'm not familiar but it's sleek.
Cool, thanks. Yes, the bridge is made from old single rails. It has two videos including a train crash I think!
Iâve been waiting day and night for your next video
Aww, so nice to hear!
I really love the trains running through the station!
Me too!
Fantastic job! I absolutely love the birds eye view! Your city has really come a long way! I also love how your high speed train has pretty much all of the different cars a real one has! Thanks for sharing! Really looking forward to your next update!
Thank you so much. That's a nice comment to receive. Worth climbing the ladder for!
Hey Robin! You should make a living coach/car. When passengers go on long distance trains there will be a car with beds built in the walls and a bathroom at the back. Luv ur vids! Keep up the good work!
Maybe one day, and maybe for a different train!
Do that on the blue train
The white stripe even continue's from the white 1x2x2 panels from top to bottom of the carriage.
Cool buffet cart! looking great!
Thanks!
What a beautiful build I might include that my self Iâll let my friends know you taught me this đđ
Cool, get them to subscribe!
Itâs a nice ad on to the lego high speed train
Thanks, Aidan!
You should ask an observation car to end the train but then you wonât be able to have the second engine in the back but I could give you some designs that would look cool and window ideas that I have seen at conventions
Well it needs an engine at both ends. You did see the massive Observation Car I've already done, right?!
Robin Hood Bricks it is called an observation car to some but in America for me it is known as a dome car as it is kind of shaped like a dome anyways a observation car in the 40s would go on the back of a train as an end car and you would be able to look out the back of the train and observe. They are still around but I have one on my train and thought you might like the idea of you saw one. Stay safe love the videos
@@nickhenderson2683 Thanks so much, Nick!
Looks cool but I always make my trains 8 wide so itâs larger than the vehicles and 8 wide looks great because you can do a lot on the inside.
It's too late for that as all my tunnels, tram supports, bridges etc won't take anything wider. They're all really close!
Great video! I canât wait to get my trains in the new LEGO city :)
They're the best part of LEGO!
Robin Hood Bricks indeed! I have them just have to make some room. Just coming out of the âdark agesâ! Here we go again :)
Regarding the grey vent blocks opposite to the buffer table: as a passenger I would rather look though glass ;)
Yeah I see what you mean!
@@RobinHoodBricks In Germany it's called a fensterplatz. You may Google it ;) Nonetheless great build!
Fantastic view over the whole city. It grows and has so many little stories to tell.đđ
Yes it does, thanks for that!
Great way to put a ot of details in such a small space. Also, Iâve been using PHTT a lot now and itâs not failed me once! Definitely a technique worth learning as an AFOL.
Glad it has been helpful. Full video on the Patented Hot Tea Technique this Wednesday with about 10 to 15 variations / examples. I haven't seen your patent cheque yet. I guess it's in the mail!
The cheque might get lost in the mail for sone unknown reasons lol.
Great job. Only one thing that does not fit is that the guy behind the counter should stand one plate higher. The rest of it is of course well done.
I agree but then his hat blocks the roof. It's a compromise I guess!
Yay a new video, it's cool to see how many different things YOU can make out of 1 carriage. Really cool build. I have this train too, but it's cool to see you making all sorts of carriages with it
Thanks, yes, that might be it for variety now, although I'm thinking of a secret Goodie base in the baggage / mail car!
Glad to see you still have the thought of the guards van in mind!
@@RobinHoodBricks that's a very cool idea
The buffet car looks great and you managed to squeeze in a lot for the space! Well done robin. I might try this out for myself.
Please do. The parts list is in the description!
You can put more trains in the city đ a narrow gauge track and train and a street train
Err, I'll get the fairground done first I think!
Great idea that will be relatively simple to copy or adapt for people with trains. What I mostly took from this though, was that like me, Robin has still not bought into Walkersâ annoying switch of colours between salt and vinegar and cheese and onion flavours 20-odd years ago!
Yeah, why are they the wrong way around? Cheese is clearly green (?) in colour and salt is clearly blue (?). Fools!
A really cool build again! I like it!
Glad you like it!
Like your videos đ and that gave me inspiration for my own Lego đđđ
That is awesome news!
Very nice!
Thanks!
what a fantastic build. I was feeling you were adding a car from the thumbnail but when you took and moc one I was liking it more, I think size-wise the trains are perfect in length but that's my model railroad history and I had so many cars sitting on sidings for different purposes. tables on the opposite side are great and give it character. the entire city comes to life when you have the trains, subway and tram running, well trains and tram in this video. it's great how close you have everything and they fly by so smooth. Keep up the great work and as always thank you for sharing your ideas and designs for Brick Nottingham.
Yes, I agree. Having everything miss by a fraction of a plate width adds to the excitement!
superb! Really cool addition to the train!
Indeed it is!
Im not a train person myself, but i realy love this idea. Makes me wish Lego had printed 1x1 tiles with chip logos or something on it.
There are a lot of stickered and printed 1x1 tiles you could use for food, especially cakes, but I figured these would do the job just as well!
Dope!!!!!
Dope indeed, my friend!
Cool itâs amazing
Thanks very much. Fun trains at the end, eh!
Wow!
Wow indeed!
Ha
Nice!
Cheers!
Hello there sorry I haven't watched in a while was making my own city but the table collapsed so now I'm here watching you.
Oh no, an earthquake?!
@@RobinHoodBricks I was using an old table and the Lego was to heavy
@@RobinHoodBricks Maybe I shouldn't of tried making a skyscraper
I like to watch your videos when I have nothing to do.
I like watching them when I do have things to do...
I like videos when I'm doing something boring like washing up used pieces!
Nice updateđ
Glad you liked it!
Absolutely lovely video !!
You are so kind, thank you!
Robin Hood Bricks no problem your lego city is awesome and i love your videos!
Cool
Thank you!
Nice car.
I think so too!
Hey, if you did get it, you should do somthing with the emerald night or another lego steam train. It would be really cool because there are only modern trains in the city, you could put a siding in or engine shed to store and swap trains out.
It'd have to be only sixv studs wide to fit through all my eight wide tunnels and bridges!
@@RobinHoodBricks what about the newest hogewarts express, I'm sure you could modify that to make it look like a real life train, and the engine shed idea?
I've got a Train Shed coming!
@@RobinHoodBricks oh OK cant wait for the vid
I passionately recommend you replace those white panels behind the attendant with grey or black ones.
Well, the original real life train has white ones. Google "ICE 1 bordrestaurant". I kinda like how it stands out!
@@RobinHoodBricks but that breaks the stripe the tinted windows cause.
@@dontcheckmychanel Yes, it does!
@@RobinHoodBricks HOW CAN YOU BE OKAY WITH THAT!?!?
That is cool.
Thanks so much!
@Robin Hood Bricks youâre welcome.
Happy Monday. I had to miss watching as had my radio station on live. So watching this on Tuesday night. On my rest brake coffee. As I doing the ninjago temple of resurrection set an dragon forge set ..an sume snake pit set .yet to get back to my train s. Till I can set my train track s up..but had the blue electric train running when first got the set ..buffer is nice in that one. I hopen to get a light kit for it to .to light up inside of my train s. Injoy injoy Lego on .
I will. You too!
Your videos are great
I appreciate it!
Nice đ
Thanks!
Well done awesome vidio looks great. Brilliant one
Many thanks!
Gimme more trainz!
As you wish!
I know you mentioned not long ago someone suggesting you build another club car, I hadn't thought of it, but now seeing the train running I feel like it needs another club car đ
Do they have two in real life? Do we want two? When will it be too long? Hmmm. I'm gonna do a few different things first before repeating myself. I do have the rare windows already at least!
@@RobinHoodBricks Could be there is usually only one, we don't have those at all in Sweden so I don't really know, I just thought a second one would be neat looking đ Maybe using the same design but do something creative with the interior?
A sleeper maybe? I'll need the base, buffers and wheels. The base I have is spoken for. Coming soon!
THIS TRAIN CAR I WOULD enjoy lol
Great to hear!
Nice conversion, even though I would have based it off more of the British Rail MK3 buffet coach, but great, none the less.
I kinda like my German fast train, haha!
Ahh, I understand. I'm more used to the British trains.
I just picked up that passenger train for 25$!! Needs a new motor but still canât wait to replicate these train cars!
Only 25?? How did you get it that cheap, and where
eBay is great for really cheap deals, especially if there's cleaning or work to do making it complete again!
IRONFLASH Got it off someone local, clearing out there Collection up in Canada
Looks Great ! Reminds me of my own 7897 Train from 2006 which is similar to this one but it has a dining car but only seats and cups
Yeah, that's the one my First and Second Class stickers came from!
@@RobinHoodBricks Yep!
I was watching the video that day it was posted âŒïž
You've caught up with real time. Next one is Wednesday!
The TGV buffet car is on the 125 and more trains
Great!
Good video
Glad you enjoyed it!
What a great upgrade to your High Speed Passenger Train! One suggestion I might make is to use the 1x4x3 panel piece in white, or Trans black, to provide a little more "headroom" for the poor guy behind the counter. As it is now, he's slumped forward so that his poor head can clear the brick behind him. Ouch! Cheers!
Haha, poor chap!
Properly shoe-horned in there! Looks good and definitely benefitted from that upgrade! I've got to ask though, can he get anything from under the counter? He'd need to have some serious Yoga flexibility! Love what you did here though, series. Great solution to the age old 6 stud wide dining car problem!
Haha, it's important that people can get by so the depth is great at that. Yes he does what I do in the standing holes of the LEGO Room. A squat!
@@RobinHoodBricks Amen to that! My new room - update coming sometime this year (sad lol - is add a space at the back that I fit in if I breath in and wriggle up. Tight but works...
Yeah, I've been looking out for the new city update. Is it workload or relentless planning getting in the way? I'm sure it'll be great whenever it comes!
I donât even have this set I just watch this for the content
Love the addition to an already stellar MOD train! Great work again RHB! I see I'm not the first, but want to give you a playful jab b/c you missed you New Year's resolution of adding a vehicle to this city update of Brick Nottingham. Unless you want to say the train car is a vehicle. ;) Looking forward to the tutorial on Wednesday. Take care sir!
Thank you, and yes... I forgot. Five months. The end of an era. People will talk of this day!
LOL, it was a great run that had to end some time! And indeed, it is "a day that shall live in infamy!" FDR
Great adaptation, yet so simple. I like it! Seems more fun than just closing off the endpoint of a carriage, that's for sure! Just last week, I was able to find this set on EBay for a great deal and so once I get it, I'm probably going to make another car, and do a similar configuration. Awesome idea as always, Robin! :)
Yes, there's lots to do with this awesome train. Don't forget to order lights!
You should do a sleeper car
I did double decker ones that could be a sleeper for both this train and the 60197. Check them out!
@@RobinHoodBricks thanks Iâll make sure to do so
Yes another train carriage
And btw i have a tip for you maybe you can put the club car in the middle of the train maybe that would look better
I have my first class windows in it so I put it at the front. Is that not how they go?!
@@RobinHoodBricks If you look at trains in the US they usually have the so-called observation cars at the end of the train. In the UK most trains have them at the end. It's not a requirement but most trains have them in the middle or at the end, hope this helps!
