  • Taryl shows Scruffy the proper way to change the transmission oil on his Spartan zero turn with two Tuff Torq TZ450 transmissions in it. Taryl will go over the proper way to change the oil, what oil to use and he'll give you part numbers and more so you get the proper kit for your transmission. Another funny, yet informative, how-to video from your pals over at Grass Rats Garage! And as always... There's Your Dinner!!
    **Not all oil change kits fit all models, make sure to look up your kit by your serial number for the correct one for your transmission. You can do that here:

    There's A LOT of different filters and kits for many different models/brands etc. So be sure to use your Serial Number to look up the correct parts for your transmission. You can do so on the Tuff Torq website. We'll have a video coming Wednesday on how to look up parts incase you're wondering.... www.TUFFTORQ.com

      I used one commerically for 2 years cutting probably 1500 yards or more and many hundreds of hours runtime . Then gave it to my dad. Idler pulley bearings went out twice and uhhh i replaced the front and rear tires once. Still original belts. I replaced them before givbing it to my dad but they showed little sign of wear. Great mowers. I bought a bigger Toro. I also used them working on a golf course. Hands down my favorite brand. Should last a home owner practically forever

    The serviceable oil filter is the only way to go. I would rather have NO filter and change oil more frequently, than to have a filter that can clog up, and not have a way to replace. I don't understand the thinking behind that. I know that some CVT transmissions and also transaxles in some electric vehicles that have built-in, non-serviceable filters. I don't like that any better. For those, I would rather see "spin-on" filters, like those used on engines.

    I have an issue with my SWISHER Zero turn .. It has the Eaton motors that are no longer available after talking with SWISHER ... They stated there are no longer parts for the motors and their new mowers have a different brand motors that would not fit on my older SWISHER. I was wondering if there has been any modifications because EATON is not longer available and the mod actually shows how to convert a different brand motor.

    • @troy3052
      @troy3052 Před 7 měsíci

      Depending on the model transmission, it seems like eaton doesn't sell parts, just the whole unit. Had a simplicity, that had trouble, I had to buy the whole unit. It was a eaton 778. There are companies after I bought a new one that rebuilds them.

YOU GOT BAMBOOZLED!!!!! and on yeah... if anyone offers you mustard packets make sure they are the FRENCHES brand (heinz sucks at making mustard compared to Frenches, grey pupon is also an acceptable substitute - or even better depending on your taste). I am really big on condiments... they usually take up a good portion of my fridge - so I make sure they are the proper brands that taste good at least. You know what they say for us lifelong bachelors (not sure if you are but I am - MONK MODE 4 LIFE - MAN GOING HIS OWN WAY HERE!!!) If you're going to have nothing to eat you might as well have something good to put on it!!!! You'd be surprised at what MAGIC I can do with some cup of ramen (I learned a lot from watching those videos from ex-cons on youtube who would get all crazy creative with the commisary they were allowed to buy. Did you know you can make a burrito with cup of ramen even? Great stuff!!! There's even a video on how to make "prison peanut brittle"... I knot your shit!)

    Tough Torque in my opinion is about the junkiest rear ends you can buy. They constantly are going out at low hour intervals and the joke of service kits they try to sale you are so overpriced you might as well buy a new transmission, better yet a whole new unit. Back in the day when Tecumseh and spicer made all the gear driven rear ended no one ever even thought about having to repair the transmission as they never failed. I get it tough torque is a company that’s here to make money however they’re Hyrdo units seem to be designed to fail and I just can’t justify the price for the low quality products no matter how I look at them. It’s a lot like The Snapper and John Deere names, used to be some of the best products around and now they are nothing but a Bastardized Zombie brand, that the name alone, gives people a false since of quality.
