There is one correction I'd like to make as an elemental shaman main, For any AoE you want to use your Fire Elemental BEFORE you apply your flameshocks because Fire elemental will extend the duration of your flameshocks meaning less time reapplying them and more time blasting, it's a minor thing but it's noticeable in the long run.
Also get rid of the Flameshock target cap.

the video i've been waiting for lol thanks for sharing. resubbed after 14 years & rolled a shaman. My previous main was a ret paladin/prot & shaman so I'm having fun rerolling the shaman. Currently ELE until my skill comes back to play enhance, although - i may just lvl 70 boost my old main paladin to get my melee fix! Thanks for the video!

i remember we played togheter in BFA Flame, you played Blood and i played my Bedfisting monk :D If possible tho, i would love more of these videos, this is absolutly genious, and as far as i've seen, one of a kind :D i hope to see more of these kinds of videos :D

what nameplates are you using in this video???
They just need to make both specs less squishy.. Playing alongside shamans on my ret paladin, they are prob the top candidate for Bops/Lay on Hands etc.. Whenever sustained damage is incoming, they seem to run out of tricks to stay alive very quickly.
I love enhancement but elemental is my choice i just love the lava burst and earth shock. Thanks for the love for this class is my favorite

Flame shock and lava? If i wanted a fire build I'd play mage or destruction. I enjoy the fantasy of the sham class but some sort of build built around lightning needs to happen. The visuals of lightning is so awesome and completely underutilized.
The lightning Rod playstyle last season was fire :D

Listening to this made me remember why I stopped playing retail. Wow has got to the point of needing a PhD to play effectively. It's overly complicated and no longer enjoyable.
Or you can get a rotation helper and it just shows you what button to push next.
I don't even read my skills (or anything for that matter), I don't use weakauras, and Ive been doing +15s for a year now.
You really dont need to be sweaty to do anything in Wow. That is just what people tell themselves.

only thing i hate about my main enhancer is the survivablity actually. Astral shift is nice and cool but in some CC you cant use it, like Trashcrest Manor boss outside, once your nailed by the skill and your team isnt capable of getting you out in like 2 seconds youre literally dead
Enhancement is very cool but I wish it would be easier it's just too much for me I'm semi casual player

I played Enhancement in Bfa - when everyone hated it. Then the Class update hit and I hated it. Elemental ever since.
I prefer enhancement back when it was a stormstrike hitter with RNG ascendance procs, u just felt like a melee hitter, enh nowadays feels just like a melee elemental, same spells, lava burst, elemental blast, chain light, lighting bolt... If I'm playing enhancement I don't even wanna use those spells, I wanna use stormstrike, lava lash, crash, wolves etc. Hoping we go back to striker enh instead of elementalist.

If your goal is raid, play Enh for everything that isn't a council fight.
If your goal is M+, play something that isn't a shaman.
Do not underestimate ele. ele sham in m+ is fun. they do not have peak dmg like a warlock or fire mages, but overall still stable. lastly, great support spells / totems
@@d.blunschi703 No buff, totems are situational at best and come better from Enh, very squishy, and damage is low and capped.
Ele is possibly the worst dps spec you could bring to M+.

dmg isn't that low. i dont know, with which ele you play m+. however. lavaburst yes, capped to 6 target. earthq isn't capped.
@@d.blunschi703 Enh has the open GCDs to use totems, they are in melee range, they can thunder to interrupt better. Enh also brings a buff totem the others don't.
Damage is quite low, once you cap out on mastery and have enough haste, you scale very poorly past that. Lava Burst should scale with crit, but they refuse to truly fix that. EQ isn't capped, but its damage (and all spender damage) is laughably low.
Ele, for very good reasons, is just a very poor choice.
@@zacharyiler136 ööhm, why shall ele place the totems not in melee range… strange argue… it’s only about positioning. Stuns, ele has enough… same as enh. Buff totem, shure, when you have meeles in grp.
But generally I see, youre not into eles and focusing s tier classes 🤷♂️.

This is obviously a video based primarily on a subjective opinion. But even 3 minutes in you are getting how elemental plays packs fundamentally wrong.
You rarely double cast liquid magma totem except on very big pulls because it is uncapped aoe. You can get 6 flame shocks up by using prim wave - Flame shock - magma totem, as the surge of power proc from pwave is gonna give you 6 flame shocks. You also precast fire elemental, you don't cast it after. That is absolutely moronic as the main feature of fire elemental is to massively prolong the duration of flameshock.
I dunno, it just seems sligthly weird to make a video like this and then get it quite wrong so early.
I think you are missing the point friend, this is not a guide or instructional video, not sure why you are basing your arguments on that, because all your points are useless. I mentioned the general thought behind it.
It could be personal bias, but I played both ways with my elemental in keys and found more success with double magma totem, hence why I recommend it. It's also easier for new people to start doing damage, than trying to maximize flame shock spread. And at the end of the day, who gives a fuck? This is not a guide :D
If you don't have an established team and pug all your keys, I would strongly avoid against playing Elemental.
You will have a harder time than an Enh Shaman.
Even as 3200 IO Ele you will be declined from weekly vault keys (18-20) who are specifically looking for Bloodlust... Just not your bloodlust.

I came back to wow after 10 years and I've choose Enhanc to be my main. At the first I thought the rotation was overcomplicated but I found myself having fun with the class after mastering all. Unfourtunately, as soon as I began to hit higher keys (20+) I started to see the main issue of this class: The lack of survivability and the non-rewarding damage from that overcomplicated rotation (if you are trying to be alive everytime, your damage will naturally decrease). For that reason, I think if you like the role play and want to be a shammy, go as Elemental. If you are playing as Shaman only to be in the meta - don't do it. It is not worth the stress of being a melee (a position that should be rewarded because it is obviously more difficult to play) and get one-shoted everytime.

A better idea is to do yourself a favor and stop playing Shaman for both pve and pvp. This is a class that you play if you want to be hard on yourself. Think about this, every class can hold it's own and form comps ,shaman is good only in comps. They had to add Lasso to Elemental some time ago because without it, that spec in pvp was non existent. This class is only good for visuals and that's it. Sure...utility bla bla argument....play Augmentation or Paladin if you want utility and viability. Don't trust me? Go play it and then watch yourself Re-roll to Warlock, Druid, Paladin etc. Have fun!
this is actually true, I love the visuals, but both specs are complicated and require a lot of micro-managent which the base game does not provide the tools for (weak auras, addons etc)
Elemental is crazy strong in soloshuffle. Enhancement is trash. In PVE what wow is 95%about, both are absolutely fine
What a depressing view on a class. I consistently play all classes in the game with no issues ever. Had none of these issues playing all 3 shaman specs in 18+ keys. Then again, I play wow with friends and guilds, cuz ya know, it's an MMO :)
Shaman here who does everything including pvp and Im having a blast. No idea what you are talking about. Maybe you're just bad at playing shaman.

Idk I built my own talent set up for fire nova as it's much more fun for me, also made a good ele talent set for raid that isn't the 2 they have listed on wowhead
