Look no further! In this extremely high-speed run, Dashjump demonstrates how to break the sound barrier and why Sonic is the fastest character in the video game universe.
Dashjump's TAS improves the previous run (tasvideos.org/1958M.html) by 25.50 () seconds. Individual act improvements are listed in the submission text (tasvideos.org/5113S.html) .
The author doesn't collect any of the Chaos Emeralds in this movie, but it demonstrates almost every single move that Sonic is capable of in this game. - Hry

So I just noticed that the faster Sonic goes, the faster the ring icon goes...
The more you know.......I knew that for a while tho
Another thing that I discovered in this game is that : The more rings you have, the faster your character accelerates.
@@IsDaoudamay not be true. Sonic almost got out of the screen with just 3 rings in this TAS video(at the very beginning of the first zone, BTW)
@@Mizu2023 thats just because of how the momentum works, just because lower rings don’t accelerate you as fast doesn’t mean you can’t go as fast without them

Sound barrier? Screen barrier! Sonic spends more time off the edge of the screen than on.
I've seen this long ago, but now since I've refamiliarized myself with the game and been doing some non-TAS time attack runs, seeing some of the tech here is beautiful, especially at 12:55.

The camhack script written by Alyosha for this game causes quite a bit of screen shaking, so a proper encode with it isn't possible. It probably doesn't matter much anyway since there isn't as much off-screen time as the Sonic Advance 1 run.

Maybe resample to 32.768kHz 8-bit
The game's sound effects on ~8-16-bit games always take the main role at mocking the music's channels themselves, especially, how in this case, the constant use of airdash ability literally rips at least two-three channels.
@@TittleTattler They are talking about the audio quality, not why the sound effects keep overlapping the instruments in the music

The answer is: GBA/emulator. This is the original device, not some remastered HD version.

If you are next to enemies you can press B to "home" to the enemy. It only had a visual in Sonic 4
