  • The biggest surprise of D23's Destination D: Walt Disney World's 40th. It was a great moment for all those fans who never got a chance to say goodbye. The Dreamfinder was just on a flight of fancy, collecting new ideas (I'd like to think that's what's really fueling the NGE and park expansion projects).

    Message to Disney: If this was your "testing the waters" for a Dreamfinder and Figment return, make it happen. Please? Even though I haven't rode either version, I still think the Dreamfinder version is a vastly superior ride over the "Institute" thing.

      +mondenkindqueen Seeing how the comic they made called "Figment" became so damn popular that it's still overselling and a sequel is already almost upon us, I'd say that they have plans.

      I kinda want to see a Journey into Imagination movie/TV series starring Figment and Dreamfinder. There are so many potential creative ideas for stories to tell with them. I mean the Marvel Disney Kingdoms Figment comics barely scratched the surface and I loved those comics already. I see so much potential and Disney should see that.

      ^Yes! The comics are really nice (I own both hardcover books) but Figment deserves so much more. The only thing better than a movie/tv series with Figment and Dreamfinder? A GOOD OL *HAND DRAWN* MOVIE/TV SERIES WITH FIGMENT AND DREAMFINDER. LIKE OLDSCHOOL ANIMATION

    Did you know the only people who knew this was going to happen was the stage manager and Ron Schneider himself? No one else in Walt Disney World (the Cast Members) knew this was going to happen and Ron was called about a year in advance for this to happen.

    So many different emotions (all of them positive) running through me after seeing this. I just wish Robert Sherman could have been there...If I could pinpoint how I'm feeling after seeing this, I guess I'd say it was like some of the biggest figures from my childhood put on a grand finale for my childhood's end and all my fellow Disney fans were there to witness it. Truly a monumental event in my eyes.

    I hope this is an eye-opener for Disney that people want Dreamfinder back! I'm sure if they don't notice when many, many, MANY Disney fans are screaming at the top of their lungs when Dreamfinder and Figment come out together and "One Little Spark" starts playing as the crowd continues to roar... Then its a hopeless case to say the least :'(

    “I’m late; I’m late for this very important date!” I’m reading ‘From Dreamer to Dreamfinder’ by Ron Schneider and I had to look this up - oh my wow! (At first I bought the book - found out Dreamfinder read it aloud via Audible - and oh my gosh it’s amazing!) I found Figment in 2020 during quarantine- in just a few short months I have collected the Jacket, the ears; a friend made me the Figment dress, another friend made me a Figment blanket, many plushies have arrived - many tumblers, organizers, my backpack, my handbag, my swim bag my everything is Figment related! I have even shown the classrooms of students I teach (6th-8th graders) the original Figment Ride because I want them to rely on their imaginations and utilize their creative minds! They love it! My favorite quote in the book: When the Mouse and the Dragon are sold in the same shop - THE DRAGON OUTSELLS THE MOUSE!!!! Figment is EVERYTHING to me and so is the Dreamfinder! Thank you for this!!!!

    Being at the D23 expo that year and not caring about Dreamfinder and Figment as a whole yet and not greeting them at their return for the event have been the biggest regrets I've had in my life! Dreamfinder and Figment DESERVE to come back again together. :D

    For those of you who grew up with the original Dreamfinder and Figment, I guess this is a way of saying good-bye. To me, not growing up with Dreamfinder but with Figment, I guess it's my way of saying thank you to the character Dreamfinder for starting great memories during my childhood and making me fall in love with Figment: The Dragon. Thank you Walt Disney World and everyone who helped create the ride they have now. Without it, I'm not sure what memories I'd have. This made me teary-eyed!

    • @nickthedreamer4434
      @nickthedreamer4434 Před 6 lety +4

      I don't think this is necessarily a good-bye. Sure, we never got a real good-bye when the original ride was closed down and replaced without anyone realizing it, but the Dreamfinder keeps popping up every now and again ever since this panel. He appeared at the following D-23 when Tony Baxtor was given a Disney Legends award, he got two comics under the Disney Kingdom's banner with Marvel Comics, and he was a prominent figure with other original characters during the 35th Anniversary on merchandise.
      Personally, I don't think that this is good-bye. I think this is Disney admitting that they have not forgotten him and have plans to bring him back somehow in the future.
      And, until they do, I'll do my damn best to become an Imagineer and make it so.

    I never rode the '82 JII attraction and while I have no real emotional connection with Dreamfinder, it's obvious MANY others do from this video. I want to believe that a resurfaced marketability of Dreamfinder & Figment could mean a larger role for Dreamfinder in the World, to quote someone I know. Besides, it's been far too long that the Imagination pavilion have had a fizzled spark with the Institute theme... It's just asking for Dreamfinder to return!

    If Disney kept the idea of westCOT, Dreamfinder and Figment would of been a big hit like when Epcot still had the original. Don't get me wrong, I like DCA and the changes, but this would of been a perfect time to add some elements from the westCOT plan. Or at least bring Figment and Dreamfinder to Cali. I go to Disneyland every year and to young to even have seen original Imageworks but even I know that removing it was a bad move. Bringing it back or having it in Cali, would of been worth it. :/

    • @ali3ngazer275
      @ali3ngazer275 Před 6 lety +2

      It was mostly Kodak’s fault. They’re the ones that made the designs and cut them out of the attraction. When Journey into your imagination came out, Eisner hated it but he had to turn down project Gemini that might’ve revived the ride maybe cause Park revenue was low due to 9/11.
