- Spoilers throughout. Seeing this movie just makes us hope for an Edge of Tomorrow sequel. The movie does have an interesting idea, but bad pacing and flip-flopping tone don't help this movie. Also, very talented supporting cast that don't get enough to do.

Some other reviewers have said this and I agree: each act of this film was or could have been it's own movie. It's not cohesive. It introduced interesting characters who literally disappear until act 3. The "emotional" beat in the second act had me rolling my eyes. Overall it was just disappointing. They should have stuck with the theme from act 1 and made a movie which focused on the logistics and ramifications of sending people from the past to fight a war in the future.

JK Simmons arms in the movie was huge
I told my wife, "this is like Bad Boys II... You think it's over, but they're going to Cuba. But here Cuba is Russia!"
Besides the time traveling and a alien invasion (which are standard sci-fi tropes) I really don't agree with the EOT comparisons everyone is making but I get why folks are saying that.
I thought this was a decent sci-fi action flick, a little corny in some areas but still decent > 7/10. And I'm not the biggest Chris Pratt fan but I rather see him in roles like this over his idiotic version of Star-lord.

@@news19nerds11 For myself being a lifelong Sci-Fi fan, the pros in this flick far outweighed the cons.
Took me three sittings to finish this movie. It was simultaneously too long and not long enough.

Movie is way too long. We got to the end, and then I saw there was nearly an hour left! And to me, there wasn't a single thing in act 3 that was worthwhile or entertaining.
The long, drawn out scenes with his daughter were possibly the worst plot holes for me. Pratt took so much time exposing that he we hoping to save her and trying to convince her to allow him to do so. I'm like, she has a decent enough plan.. Get the alien toxin back to the past and BOOM! you just saved her and everyone else. They tell us 8 billion people have been killed and the extinction of humanity is near, but they were trying to make us care about a single individual, and somehow failed at that.
It would require a PhD thesis length review to explain how bad this is.

Great review Nerds I gotta disagree with yall on this I loved this movie i think it's better then half of the movies that hbo max came out with in the last few months mad more sense then godzilla vs kong and mortal kombat , I actually like this better then edge of tomorrow
