I am an adoptive parent of 2 siblings, Boy 8.5 and girl 6 years old, we adopted them just 6 months back, lot of information we got only through this channel.
We were also frustrated when they said, it may take another 3+ years to get a child based on our ranking, but meanwhile we got to know that, if we choose siblings and location as 'pan India' our ranking would come down and, it happened like miracle, after choosing this option, our ranking became 2, and within next 3 days we received a mail with our first refference, we immediately said yes and got the kids in next 20 days, only the court procedures are pending
What is pan India based location? Can you explain it clearly.
Pan india means choosing anywhere from INDIA 🇮🇳 as your preferred states/zones

Hi Mam, what is the wait period for Older kids? Is it same as 2-3 years or lesser or more? Also is it mandatory for a single parent to be >45 years to adopt an older child as mentioned in CARA?

Yes you can if the agency agrees and post you reserve the child. This is the agency's call.
recently Bal Asha trust Mumbai denied to give us a girl child for given reason that we are not suitable to give a child of age 10 year.
Did you reach out to CARA to understand the reasons.
@@momstorybysahana no we didn't approach to cara.but at the time of on line conversation with committee members they told us that we have opted for 2 to 6 year old child at the time of home study but mean while due to our age we were not eligible for that age group so in cara site we have opted for 8 to 10 age group. besides that they were expecting that we have taken all the counseling about adoption and they told us that we have to learn some skills. so due to all this we are very demalorised. 😥
I can understand. I suggest speak to an adoption counselor they can give you a better insight. You can reach out to either of the speakers of today.
