"Leo's Preferred" is literally the best thing one could drink under the sun. We chain drink these
Just moved to Puerto Vallarta, and pursuing margarita perfection.
The joy on your face when you shake a cocktail is the kind of energy I need to capture in my life. Keep kicking ass!
Pure joy, pure silliness!
Echo that
Was just thinking the same thing! LOVE IT and keep sharing it!!!
Well, he seems to have intentionally 'captured' it himself from Steve The Bartender.
Note to self: add Leo’s manual juicer to Amazon shopping list👌🏽
⭐🍹⭐Margaritas + Fajitas = Pure Joy
The third recipe card is missing the Dry Curacao
Love the videos, this inspired me to make a margarita tonight!
Gotta give this video the ol’ likey-poo
Maybe consider a nice little subscribey-pants
That juicer is the star of the show. That thing is awesome.
Ditto. I knew someone was going to comment on it.
Its a present that will get you margaritas for life.
Just don't put it in the dishwasher. I'm stupid and don't read directions...
@@chrismartinez5711 Yep, I was thinking the same!
@@rand9994 That thing is fantastic! But where does one find such a thing and what is it (brand?)
Your the man! my favorite cocktail teacher! Thank you so much for all you for making it so easy.
I love your videos so much because they have taught me a lot about making and perfecting drinks as I'm relatively new to this, but in all honesty my absolute favorite part is the cocktail shake. The sound is just so satisfying to me for some reason 👌
Wow! I tried all of them and your version is so good! Balanced and the taste from the dry curaçao works so well with everything else 🙌
La Gloria is roughly 15 minutes from Tijuana. I went down to TJ solo two years ago looking for some adventure. I ran into the same guys two nights in a row partying on Avenida Revolución. They were super cool and happened to be from La Gloria. They took me out to places I would have never dreamed about going alone. Debauchery ensued. After nearly several brawls and entirely too much tequila and Indio beer, they invited me back to their place. We continued to drink tequila in their front yard, until an intensely red and orange sunrise took over the sky. After a sleepless morning, the guy who owned the home told me he had to go downtown to drop off a cell phone to girl who had left it at his place. I asked to go with him. A garbage truck happened to be driving by. He ran out front with the bottle of tequila and let them swig off of it. He later explained this ensured his garbage would be picked up weekly. We started to walk into downtown. A short while later the garbage truck came down the street we were on. He lets me know we were going to ride on the truck into downtown. To my surprise, with bottle of tequila still in hand, instead of getting in the cab he hopped onto the side of the truck and stuck his hand out for me to get on. I jumped up and held on with one hand while swigging tequila with the other. We were both laughing the whole way. While we bumped along the deeply rutted dirt roads lined with dilapidated houses and barking stray dogs, he turned around and yelled back to me "You wanted an authentic Mexican experience??!! Well this is it!!" This memory will live with me until the day I die. This video knowledged me to the fact that La Gloria and tequila have had a long history together. Thank you
👍 Usually 'Cool story, bro' is a kinda smartass comment that something was long-winded or whatever, but that is seriously a cool story, bro! Making new friends on roadtrip adventures is one of the great things in life... hopefully we will be in a post-pandemic world soon with a lot more fun and fellowship.
The awkward smile while shaking makes me uncomfortable and laugh at the same time. I'm so confused... But DAMN is that a good margarita!!!
This totally natural smile is creepy af....
looks like he tries to copy the indeed very charming smile of steve the bartender ...
just made your version tonight. Absolutely love it!
I've been getting into cocktail making over the last few months, and tried all sorts of margarita recipes before settling with a 2:1:1 ratio for both the classic and Tommy's margaritas. I eventually decided to create my own and changed the Cointreau or agave nectar part to a 50/50 mix of both. I was surprised and impressed to see that not only is that how you like to make them, but according to the comments is most people's preferred variation 🎉
That last Margarita is my favorite!!
You forgot to add the Cointreau to "My Preferred Margarita" recipe
Curaçao you mean
Happy to know that a professional shares my favorite Margarita recipe - even the shake and dump!
Working in a bar in Orlando. Definitely subbed this was the perfect blend of informative and interesting. Well played, sir!
holy crap I need that monstertruck master mega chonk level of a lime destroyer... NEED!
I like the second Tommy’ Margarita. Your face is so funny when you shake the shaker which make me laugh. I just started learning making cocktails. Your channel gives me a huge inspiration. Thank you!
Great recipe and explanation.... Great Steve shaker smile, too!
A perfect video. I just made all three at home and can confirm - yours is the best and most balanced
That juicer is pretty badass! Good job on the drinks!
I searched for any Marg videos you had just last night so this is perfect! I've been making a 2:1:1 tequila:Cointreau:lime for longer than I've taken cocktail making serious(ly fun) and I realized I still just stir and not shake out of old habit. Going to need to correct and try the variations.
Thank goodness you made this video, now I know how to make the classic margarita correctly!
Love these recipes!
Love the style of your vids, from music, to editing, to set design!
Thanks!
Love your back bar 😍 , and your channel of course !
My Preferred Margarita is the best!! It is my favourite!! Love it!! Delicious!! 🙂
wow the editing this time round is top notch
I immediately went and made your preferred Margarita specs. That is a tasty drink, my friend! Wonderful balance and quite refreshing.
Love the big smile when you shake! Keep making great vids
That shake and dump sounds like something "The Dude" would make. I subbed
Loving me that hand juicer! ❤️
Love this video I live in Tijuana love learning new facts!
made your fav marg and must say it's my fav too now, not including the deviations where they use fruits, but the little hint of orange from the Cointreau makes it smoother and very dangerous during hot summer days
Great and enjoyable video! I always loved to do kind of a mixture between a Tommy's and a regular Margarita, so great to see that this ist not an absurd idea but your favorite, too. 😃
Love that energy while shaking ! :)
Never been to Mexico...."Mouth on floor!" I live in Canada, and I can't get enough of this country, best food, best drinks, best beach feel.
I completely agree your version is the way to go!
Is there some sort of marketing or something going on in Canada? Ive noticed a surge of Canadians coming down to Baja in Ensenada and Los Cabos, usually only Americans but now I’ve seen more Canadians lol
im German, 31 years old, I live in Mexico I love it !
Canadians are Americans....so are Mexicans....
Margaritas are my absolute favorite. Also, I turn 21 in less than 2 weeks! Finally going to be able to try some cocktails from this channel I’ve been watching for 2 years 😉
oh, so it'll be your FIRST margarita ever? ..... *wink wink*
I respect your decision to use El Tesoro in the Tommy's margarita, well done.
Excellent service job guys all the best and good luck 👍🍀😍..
Great video! Love matgaritas!
I’ve made EXACTLY the same margarita as Leo for years. Just slowly gravitated to it thru dozens of small tweaks. Including pinch of salt and the dump - Margarita loves it rough - never strain. On a hot summer day to lower the alcohol and up the liquid I may also add 2 oz of fresh grapefruit juice. Kind of a Paloma tweak.
I tried Leandro's specs and it was too tart for my liking. Thoughts?
@@markbowerii7632try Grand Marnier instead of the curaçao, it’s a little sweeter. I also usually add a little less lime juice than Leo.
@Aj66602 I thought about that. Maybe 3/4 lime, 1/2 GM, 1/2 agave nectar and 2oz tequila? I'll have to run that past my palate. Thanks for the suggestion.
The Smile 😊….. Killer 👌
I have been making my margaritas with a Tajin rim ever since I saw them do it at Choza de Margarita in Epcot. It's mind blowing.
Nice one. Love this content.
Made a few of these for my wife and I this weekend. The BEST home made margarita by far. Nailed it! (to be clear which one I made, it was the 3rd version)
Thank you- love the margaritas for senoritas lol
Drink 1: yeah that’s how I make it
Drink 2: ....wait..or is that how I make it?
Drink 3: clearly this is for me
Great video as always
It's wonderful to see how far your production has come after watching some of your earlier videos! Great margarita repetoire also, the combo AKA your favourite is a beautiful version! 11/10 would drink!
I agree Calum, it keeps getting better. Same goes for you also!
@@bostonshakerbarmooloolaba7591 Flattery will get you EVERYWHERE hahaha thanks Livi
Before you got to #3, I was thinking it'd be good to mix the first 2 recipes and you did it. 👍😲
That’s my exact recipe I make. I miss Texas margaritas living in Los Angeles. Gloria’s in Dallas is my fav. I also never double strain.
My favorite Margarita version is a tommy's margarita to those specs but with mezcal in place of tequila
I was comment the same thing!! Tommys Mezcal Margarita is one of my all time favourite cocktails!
Tommy's is my favorite also, but never done mezcal. What is a good one?
@@brokenrecord3523 I've used illegal and another one I don't know offhand that I picked up in south texas.
@@brokenrecord3523 mezcales de leyenda (Durango)
@@michaelboudreaux1046 I can get the Ilegal Joven near me.
I’d liked to try your preferred version. Sounds good.
Never had it with Dry curaçao instead of Orange Cointreau. Going to make it for 5 de Mayo.
If you haven’t been to Rosarito , your not missing out on anything. Our beaches are just as nice here in L.A. 😁
All 3 versions look great though!👍
Cool video 😎
I enjoy all three of these I was unaware with the agave nectar it was called the Tommy Marg. I definitely usually drink the last one to give a little bit of everything. Cheers!
Te estás reinventando maestro, gran producción nueva
I've made a lot of margs in my time behind the bar. I feel like all of these would be great for different occasions! My preferred actually uses 2oz repo tequila, 1 oz lime, 0.75oz coin, 0.5 agave. Repo and coin over rocks always tastes better to me, but of course it's personal preference. Also fun to float blood orange cordial.
Fantastic sir
I learned how to make my margaritas from your channel a while back, and have been making them your "preferred way" ever since. Super delicious and balanced. I like to add the salt into the shaker. I love muddling some cucumber into the tin before shaking, too 😋
So, not his way at all... 😂
That being (jokingly) said, enjoy whatever you want! 😉
@@WatanabeNoTsuna. The measurements of ingredients are all the same, so yes, it is still his recipe. They're good proportions and have a great balance of flavor. Margaritas are a base; add what you want.
Love the juicer! I'm buying that through your link. How convenient! Your preferred margarita is very close to my preferred margarita, except I use 1 ounce of Cointreau or Dry Curacao, 1/4 ounce of agave, and a pinch of salt in the shaker.
Keep up the great videos!
I really love sweet margaritas. A sugar rim and usually berry flavored and blended 🤤
This is great. Although ever since I saw your intro to the Infante, I've been drinking that more.
Just stumbled onto this video and decided to go to the store and make the third version. I'll never buy premade margarita mix again. This is so good. I did a small tweak, years ago we had margaritas made with a float of grand Marnier. So I tried adding it and it gives it a little more citrus kick!
I completely agree with you! Combo both and just dump it. Simple and yet tasty!
Cheers to that!
Many thanks for the intermittent recipe cards!
Just watch out for the missing .5oz (15ml) Dry Curaçao in the preferred card :)
I'm no bartender but I choose to make the margarita my "signature cocktail" mostly because I don't like the taste of alcohol, lol. Anyway, I make this exact drink using Grand Marnier. NOW after watching this video I know I make a banging drink. Thanks for the inspiration to add another drink to the menu by tackling the old fashioned and then onto a rum based tiki drink. I think 3 cocktails is a good start to my home bar
When you realize there’s actually someone else present in the room with him😂😂😂
Never knew. Was shocked when I heard another voice.
Thanks 😇
Hey man I love your videos !!
Thanks!
Here is Sydney Australia, we have an amazing little bar called Cantina OK. They do the absolutely best margi I’ve EVER had. They split the base 50/50 blanco and mezcal, use a load of lime and orange oil and serve over shaved ice. Amazinggg
Your method is also my preferred version, including the 'shake & dump' technique, with only variation being the use of Reposado and Grand Marnier in place of Blanco and Dry Curacao.
Did you tried doing the margarita with blanco and Reposado or you just always did it with Reposado? I only have Reposado Tequilla and i wunder if I should buy Blanco to try it.
We love a cheeky Margarita 🍹😋.
Another great video 🍸👍
They're very cheeky & yes... his video's are improving each & every time!
Your preferred marg recipe at the end didn't list the Curaco. Our family's preferred marg is similar, but we use a little Sprite instead of the agave syrup for the extra sweetness. Also adds a little volume, works great.
Pretty close to what I usually make, I use simple syrup in place of Agave but ill have to try that. And grand marnier for the orange liq
I'm partial to the classic myself. Gotta love a good margarita!
Thanks, I'm making Fajitas and Margaritas for my wife and her friends for tomorrow. I used to bartend, but I was fuzzy on a good MG.
My preference is Tommy’s because it really enhanced the Agave flavor of the Tequila. When I make a classic Marg I do 1 1/2oz Tequil, 1 oz Cointreau, 1/2 oz Lime juice. I think peoples palettes for Margs have changed so they expect an either sweeter or more balanced drink as apposed to dry
You left out the orange curacao in the recipe...can't wait to try this one with the agave syrup! Thanks, really enjoying your channel.
That’s what we call a Marius Special 😂
Tommy's with a Tajin rim 👌
I know I'm a couple years late to this vid, but I've been going down the rabbit hole of margarita recipes recently and stumbled on what I think is a neat variation. It is very similar to the last recipe in this vid, but I use a good repo instead of a blanco and an orange liqueur called Naranja instead of Curacao or the usual trinity (Triple Sec, Cointreau or Grand Marnier). The combination of the repo with the Naranja gives the drink this really neat "smokiness" (best way I can describe it) that you don't get with other recipes. It's definitely a vibe that won't work for everyone but has become my favorite way to make a margarita.
The way this dude was shaking that Margarita, I thought he was going to start dancing. LOL
My preferred margarita is almost identical to yours, though I use Triple Sec over curacao, b/c it's what I often have on hand. Freepour into the glass with salt in the tin. I've used repo tequila mostly b/c it's what's usually in the house, but I don't mind blanco either
Your preferred margarita is the one we settled on after months of testing different recipes.
Although we preferred Combier to any other orange liqueur, including the curacao.
Did you try it with gran Marnier instead of Cointreau or orange curaçao. I use that more coz it's what I have at home. But not sure how much difference it makes.
@@monoyamono We've tried 9 different orange liqueurs, including Grand Marnier. The GM is great but significantly different because of its brandy base. I've also come to the conclusion that there's no one "best" recipe but rather a lot of good ones for variety and for varying tastes.
was very surprised that Leandro's preferred margarita spec is the exact same one i made up at home for myself
Great minds my friend
Makes my mouth water... 😜
I think your preferred is now my preferred.🤙🏼
Sweet video
Literally just ordered this juicer, couldn't figure out what it was called. Also - love to see that your preferred is the same as mine, to the tee. I'll sometime switch out curacao for gran marnier to make it a bit sweeter.
I do kind of the Preferred, but with Reposada. I'll try it with blanco.
Nicely done. I'll try yours the next time.
Totally agree! I love experimenting & trying someone else's twist on a classic! (never stop learning do we?)
@@bostonshakerbarmooloolaba7591 always!
My God, your version tastes so good.
My favorite. 3/4oz lime juice. 1oz Grand Marnier. 2oz Cabo Wabo blanco. Salted rim.
Hi, thanks for sharing. What brand of blanco tequila are you using??
Very cool :-). I am going to have try out Tommy’s
My take on the Margarita is 60ml blanco tequila, 30ml Cointreau, 15ml lime juice. I shake it with a bunch or regular sized ice cubes and open pour into a highball glass for a sort of semi-crushed ice Margarita.
I’ve been making this blend of a classic with Tommy’s margarita for years. My favorite version is to sub in Creme De Mure for the Cointreau!
Great idea, might try that myself. Thanks!
I won a comp with a marg using balsamic instead of citrus and creme de mure was the only modifier I could get to tame it satisfactorily. Absolute banger.
@@zaynmalice7106 That sounds pretty funky but worth a try!
