Great video as normal Darren! I can recommend the ‘Washington Square Diner’ on 150 W 4th Street. Was there last September, proper diner food, not touristy 👍

Old John's! I've been eating there since 1975 (including the original location on Broadway).
NYC used to be so cheap, clobber, grub, now even more expensive than London, great post again mate, keep em coming 👏 👍

DJ - be sure to try the Halal Brothers food cart: rice, salad and chicken shawarma with the best sauces!!! It’s a must try when in NYC!

Hi Darren ,the pizza slice places and jewish and italian delis also very good ,try to avoid the fish and chip places though 🕶enjoy your trip.
London is leagues ahead of New York as a food city.
I can’t agree more with your statement. The quality of food was so bad, my son and I actually were sick in NYC. Love the city though but not the food.
You'll have to go to Greenwich Village and visit The White Horse. Dylan Thomas used to hang out in there. Really interesting images on the walls, etc.
Darren, have a go at PJ Clarkes on 3rd Ave. Been a couple of times..burgers to die for.

I had a D.Q. Burger 🍔 and poutine while watching this Darren. I was shocked at the price. I guess, the tourist spots will always be less for more price, as we know but It looked lovely though. Looking forward to seeing more while I chill at my sons place here in equally hot Canada 🥵🥵☺️☺️

Can highly recommend Black Iron Burgers, there’s two of them in NYC, best burgers we’ve ever had and the loaded fries were OTC!

Hi dj, Mrs sandwich and I got married in manhattan in 2014 (we’re from the uk). It was a great week; all our wedding photos were in front of the Brooklyn bridge. We’ve not been back since but I can’t wait to go again. Great city. Maybe we’ll get some tips from you on where to eat!

We’ve got a Andrew Carnegie hall as this is his birthplace in Scotland. I’ve performed on it too. The Carnegie Trust runs from here, near Edinburgh.

I was in Brooklyn last November. If you want a more budget food day, find a trader joes (think whole foods but a bit cheaper) and get a meal from the takeaway hot counter to have in your hotel. They do some lovely options even for a vegan like me lol

Try the double cheeseburger with bacon & egg at Au Cheval! One of the best.

I had a beautiful burger yesterday, with the lot, in Station Arcade Cafe & the burger was only $11 ( and it was superb ) $11 AUD

Not been to New York since 1978 so obviously prices have gone up lol.
Lets remember it was never going to be cheap its one of the most expensive cities in the world but one of the greatest like London ❤.
New York you need 1000 dollars a day minimum spend for a couple Darren thats about what we spent on average , and as for people telling you that you should not do this or that stuff them mate you are on holiday you work all year and its your life,keep doing what makes you happy

Crazy expensive! Papaya King just reopened at 206 E. 86th St and you can get 2 delicious grilled hot dogs and a papaya juice for $11.99.

I really liked the American 1950's style Decor and eating booths around the Restaurant. I thought your Burger looked very Well cooked and with a Generous portion of Chips to go with your Burger. Your Apple Pie and Ice-Cream with that Lovely sweet sauce drizzle over, the Perfect Desert for You DJ, a Handsome Gentleman in New York. Glad you Enjoyed your meal DJ. Not seen the show live, but from what I have seen of it over the years on award shows like the Olivier Wards/TV adverts, reviews in mags/social media, and a few of my family members have the cast recording etc will see it one day!
As you know the classic- Starlight Express revival is back on in London-will you be seeing that this year or next year??
