So a couple of days ago, a fellow siren enthusiast left a comment on one of my other Lawton siren videos about a Model 5T that was missing its housing, which showed that on the most recent Google Maps street view. I thought I’d stop by it to check it out, and low and behold, the siren itself is also gone now.
As a last minute resort, I drove over to this refurbished 2T22, which previously had failed back in November of 2020 when me and a few others attempted it. I was confident this unit would go off, as the City of Lawton has made giant efforts to make the system more reliable. Sure enough, just a few seconds after 12, it wound up to life. This was by far the loudest and one of the most healthy 2T22s I’ve heard in person. The wind gusts (as usual for this state) was close to 20 mph, so don’t mind the not perfect stabilization. I tried my best lol.
Outdoor warning sirens in Lawton are tested on Mondays @ 12PM, as long as there is no chance of severe weather in the area.
