Acura Integra vs. Honda S2000 | Driver Battles

- This battle pits two famous Hondas against each other, the Acura Integra and Honda S2000, and two drivers who love the brand on the track at Chuckwalla Valley Raceway. Both of these are time attack cars designed to take advantage of their Honda racing pedigree.
Few automotive brands inspire as much love as Honda. Whether it’s the racing history, affordable track cars or plentiful aftermarket support, there’s so much to love about the classic Japanese brand-and our two competitors for this battle definitely feel the love.
For both of them, not only is this not their first Honda, but it’s not even the first S2000 or Integra they’ve owned. Both of them are on Nitto NT01s, so it sets up to be a tight, exciting battle. If you’re not a Honda fan, this should show you what makes people go crazy for these cars, and if you already are, this is the showdown you’ve been waiting for!

Idk I mean vtec cars really aren’t that great their powers doesn’t kick in until higher in their power band, since the b20 is a non v their low end torque would be so much better than waiting for a can profile to lift to get all the power out

RolanTHUNDER it’s really not if you know Honda’s then you’d know vtec kicks at around 4500+ rpms depending on the series of motor or the tunning, why do you think low budget people boost b18b ls’s rather than a vtec motor it’s easier to tune because it doesn’t have a fluctuating cam lob. Why do you think you get the kick when vtec hits, because the cam lob changes in response to the rpm letting the motor know it needs to crank out more air or fuel. A non v doesn’t do that b20vs don’t get me wrong are way faster that a regular b20. All I’m saying is on a track like this the low end torque from a non v would come in a lot handier than a 6500-9000 rpm vtec readline .
As soon as they went into the first set of corners, I knew the Integra had the race.

I'm pretty sure S2000k rev to 9000 and the 2nd gen got a reduced rev limit to 8800 with an improve of torque

If the Teg had a real motor and not some weak cylindered B20 maybe it could've gotten better times.

TEKNOiD obviously the times don’t have anything to do with the motor. It’s the chassis work and aero that made the dc2 post a faster lap time. Obviously the drivers weren’t equal but both driver by the Same pro driver I bet the lap times will be very close.

In this specific scenario the teg is definitely lighter than the s2000 so bottom line the teg would outpace most of the race except in a straight. On track type shit like this its 50/50 on being better.... more torque and less rpm keeps it in the sweet spot/power band depending on shorter tracks.. like he said in the video he was able to keep it WOT.... shorter gears and more rpms wouldnt of nessecarily been better.....and diff trans def makes a world of a diff. Built my trans- Ls gearset, quaife LSD and 4.4 final drive and maked a world of a diff

It's not a comparaison between the 2 cars, but between the drivers..... give the guy the S2000 and you will see the lap time dropping even more! Nothing against girls driving, but "Damn Gina" line are just horrible....

In racing terms saying pretty much stock, it means the drivetrain and engine internals are stock , it's not talking about bodywork , brakes or suspension....

Both cars look nice, but they're obviously done up more for style than function. Some power mods and more in depth suspension work would go a lot further than the big wings and splitters when it comes to track performance.
I also have to agree with everyone in the comments, the S2K should have taken down a B20 Integra with ease.

I track my EM1 on a regular basis and have no problem passing up 911, Corvettes, S2000, M3 the list goes on and on.

Power does not matter when It comes to racing, but the skills you have as a driver to push the limits off your car, even if it has less horsepower, That’s what matters as a racer. Not the power, but the performance and what you can do with that horsepower.

Loved my integra, it was my first car, 98 LS, but I finally bought my dream car, a S2000! I totally think the S2000 should have won, just judging the speed of some of the corners, it could have been pushed more!

Lol meng would of lost horribly if the s2k had any type of competent driver. I'm mean I give Gina props for getting out there. But it looked like she kept it in the same gear the whole time. She wasn't really do any heavy braking into corners. Because she wasn't pushing it in the straights. Both cars look great though. I would love to have a go at someone with my RSX. Hopefully Gina keeps it up and puts in more track time so she will be more confident next time.
She said it from the start that it was her first time at chuckwalla... no one should push to their limits at a track theyre not familiar with
@@driftindan there's a difference between track unfamiliarity and poor driving technique. She's obviously staying in the same gear because she's probably not able to smoothly upshot/downshift as needed. It was mengs first time too at this track.
Jujutsuheiho her line was pretty choppy in a lot of spots and she wasn’t utilizing the full width of the track at places where it would’ve benefit her the most too. Figure they did a few sessions she wouldve picked up on those spots throughout the day.

Integra DC2 is a legend in initial D stage 2.

I would agree with the integra, when my dad used to race un his younger ages. He had a pearl white Integra Type-r (JDM front headlight conversion) with a Greddy TO5 Turbo which ran 18PSI and had about 400WHP 11 second car

Tuned S2000 with her mods nets roughly 220-230 WHEEL HP....she had 100 more than him. This comparison was absolute $#!+.
Not even a minute into the race and just seeing the S2K being granny driven really bugs the shit outta me lol. Great to see her behind to wheel but she really needs to push “the pedal to the metal”. Definitely doesn’t need someone else behind the wheel of the S2K she just needs more practice and just be free and let loose.

I feel like episode 9’s camera work of the battle was way better than the previous episodes, maybe it happened in others but this video got me into this channel and I immediately lost interest cause it didn’t show the time run on the other episodes like this episode did.

This is why the driver is important.. doesn't matter what you have.. it matters how you drive it..
Gina needed to track out more and use more of the track. More track time and I'm sure she can get some spectacular times.
aside from the obvious discrepancy in driver skills, i see a lot of people saying the s2k shoulda won for sure, but it's not that simple. while a b20 doesn't have the power or even peak torque of an f20/22, they make a lot of torque everywhere in their powerband. this helps with corner exit (i have a b20 swap da teggy, speaking from experience) and it's surprisingly fast on corner exit, keeping up with 300+ hp cars before their power starts to pull away on the top end on straights at the track. what you have to bare in mind is that the average track prepped integra is about 400+ lbs lighter than an s2k. power to weight ratio is very important at the track, a 15-20% difference in power to weight ratio like these two is works in favoer of the lighter car under not just acceleration, but braking and cornering too. with a fantastic driver the s2k would edge out on top, but if a good driver drove both it would be close as fwd is easier to reach the limits of.
Good match up of cars. One of them just felt more comfortable flogging their cars🤷
Gina is a whole mood lol. I love her energy and charisma. Her driving okay. She had a really nice line for most of the lap but she just didn't know how to push the car and keep it near the limit. It must've seemed very close to the limit for her but the car usually goes further than you'd expect. I'll bet she doesn't often take the car to the track, and she just knows a lot about driving line through research.
And what the story for swapped from a vtec to non vtec? Should throw a b16b/b18c head though, would be so much fun then..

Setup vs Setup, the S2K should of had this hands down... BUT, I will say never you can never under estimate an underpowered setup as they have the advantage of flooring it through the corners it as opposed to feathering the throttle.

The Integra is an easier car to drive fast. Not saying the S2000 isn't capable of a better time, but most (not all) of the commenters roasting Gina would probably put down better times driving the Integra.

Did they add her worst lap by mistake instead of her best lap or put a 5000RPM rev-limiter on her car? They should have got the host to give her some lessons earlier on to give her a better chance against the more experienced guy. Would have made for a more interesting race. It really disappoints me seeing reasonably modded cars with owners without the driver skill. I can't imagine many cars that could do better than the S2000's potential on that track, and the car just wasn't done justice here.

As much as I like my s2k I know the DC2 is not far off if at all. I know cause I owned a DC2 myself then move to an S2k and my mate always had an S2K so I had reference points for several years as I improved my driving and learnt about cars. Biggest advantage the dc2 is the light chassis, about 100kgs lighter than the s2k. S2k has 50 more hp or thereabouts but it is quite close. In the end I ran faster times in my s2k than my dc2 but it has better wheels and tyres than the integra before
9000Redline finally someone who knows what they’re talking about. Nicely modded dc2s can do damage consider how little hp they have. They’re quick relative to the hp.
S2000 is one of the hardest cars to drive at the limit. This is why you buy a slower car to learn so you can build your skill quicker without being so afraid of the car
