    The Focus interior is somewhat outdated. But I compared so many cars on youtube with 150-160hp petrol/mild hybrid and cant see any car that beats this focus in feeling of agility and handling. The 1.3 tci 160 seems to come close second. So it feels for the price the Focus is a really honest car that has its value where it matters most but saves costs in interior materials.

      I'm not sure about handling (which is definetely a strong point for this model), but the Hyundai i30 and the KIA Ceed with the 1.5 turbo and 160hp are superior in terms of both acceleration and interior feel. I have clips with both of them if you wanna check them out.

      @@AcceleratingCars What do you mean, i've watched that i30 video on your channel. It has a higher 0 - 100 in seconds right? So focus is faster 0 - 100

    Very impressive results for a 3 cylinder 1.0 turbo car!

      its nit a turbo! a 48V Battery gives it more power 😂😂😂😂😂😂

    Pretty impressive for the power/weight ratio! A gearbox with the short gears helps a lot: the car reaches 100 km/h on the 4-th gear.

    • @AcceleratingCars
      @AcceleratingCars  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Agreed! The gearbox has diesel-like ratios. I mean i'm not even sure it gets to 60 kmh in 2nd 🤭 It would be interesting to compare with the gearbox ratios on the 125hp variant. le: i mean i'm not sure the actual gear ratios are close to ones found on diesel cars, but certainly shift speed is 😃

    • @AcceleratingCars
      @AcceleratingCars  Před 3 měsíci +2

      Just checked, ratios are almost the same: barely gets to 60 in 2nd, needs 4th to get to 100.

      @@AcceleratingCars yes, such gearbox ratios are very good for acceleration

      @@valeriymanin5779 don't you think overall performance is a little cut back by the fact that there are more gear changes with a short gearbox? For this particular example there are 3 gear changes to 100, when a "normal" gasoline-powered car has only 2 (i think the majority of petrol cars can get past 100 in 3rd)

    • @valeriymanin5779
      @valeriymanin5779 Před 3 měsíci

      @@AcceleratingCars Indeed no. The modern gearboxes shift very fast. Benefits of accelerating with higher gear ratios outweigh some time for additional shifts. It was like this even for manual gearboxes and it is even more beneficial for modern automatic gearboxes. Just have a look on rally cars: they have very short gears for good acceleration and they do not need super large top speed. That is why they may have rpm-limited top speed of 200 km/h and acceleration time to 100 km/h below 4 secs.
      Also people who modify their cars for 1/4 mile racings change gerbox ratios for shorter gears to finish on the 5-th or the 6-th gear.

  • @AlessandroMian

    Is there any data about rpm at 130 kmh in highest gear?

    • @AcceleratingCars
      @AcceleratingCars  Před 2 měsíci

      Well, based on this gear ratio table i found for this model gyazo.com/49b643e3ce8f7be25d589fbca44acb93 and on the fact that the car is at around 5.900 rpm in 4th gear at 130 km/h GPS, it works out that in 7th gear at 130 km/h the engine sits at 2.900/3.000 rpm (i think).
