For a 1.7x ton diesel sedan with only 190hp i would not call a sub-7 sec 0-100 slow. Once the speed gets higher, OK, you can feel it's starting to suffer and that diesel torque is no substitute for top end power, but again, looking at the stats, i would not call this car slow.

Absolutely no stock GLC 220d can get under 7 sec for 0-100 on flat ground. As for your E220d (nice car btw) being MUCH faster... I mean, how much faster? Tbh i'm not sure if it's faster at all...

I own a Mercedes and I am a fan of Mercedes, but a E220d can't be faster than this BMW. Gearboxes from BMW are one of the fastest.

Pleaca foarte bine de pe loc, 0-60 e chiar respectabil. Dupa ce trece de 100, 110 se vede ca sunt doar 190 de cai, nu prea mai face senzatie.

@@AcceleratingCarsla mine e exact invers, fiind manuala si tractiune spate. 325d lci, 2016, 218 cai. 0-100 7 sec best time, 80-120 in 4.3 si 100-200 in 20.49, best time. Pentru un biturbo de 218 cai, e domol pana in 100 la ora

Hi Cedryc, thanks for the question! It is that way because in the table i put the best value recorded while doing that particular test. So although i got a better 0-100 time while doing the 1/4 mile run, the best time when doing 0-100 accelerations was 9.94 sec 😉

You have done your job perfectly. There is nothing wrong with your launching technique. The car itself is the source of problem. I have seen several tests of this car in various car magazines and they also mentioned its poor performance. Some even clocked higher than 10.0 s 0-100 km/h! I think Mazda is trying hard to both increase the power and improve fuel consumption simultaneously and they have to limit throttle opening to some extent or delay its opening to get better fuel economy. The only solution is to go for Turbo like other manufacturers did.

Yes! It was from a rental company, i highly doubt they stage 1 their cars or something... 🙂

From what i can remember, the car did something like 12L/100 km in busy city traffic, so that's a range of about 450km. On the highway, it depends on your speed and style of driving. If you drive decently at around 100-120 km/h with no or very few overtakes i think you could do 850-900 km with 54 L. If you like driving fast and with a lot of overtaking, the consumption goes up considerably.

If i can get them, sure! 😉 i'll look out for them.

To be honest i don't really remember. I think (maybe) it's activated by default when you put the car in Sport mode and have DSC off. All i remember about the infotainment system and the menu is that they were pretty complicated to use, with a lot of sub-menus and stuff.

Hi! No, i haven't driven a 40d X5. What i have driven are X5 and X6 30d and an X3 M40d. The X5 and X6 are already pretty fast and the X3 is a real bomb. The 40d variant on the larger SUVs has to be faster than the 30d, but i don`t think that by much, certainly it won't be night and day. If you watch the videos you will notice that the X3 M40d does 0-100 in 5 sec and the X5/X6 30d in something like 5.6 - 5.7 sec so surely the X5 40d must be somewhere in between. Although, as i said before, a 0.2 - 0.4 sec faster time to 100 is hardly visible. Of course, it's definetely there, but it's not "something else".

Totusi generatia asta G05 are versiunea 30d in nu mai putin de 3 trepte de putere (265, 286 si 298) si 40d in 2 versiuni (340 si 352), in functie de diversele update-uri si upgrade-uri pe care le-au facut. Eu am testat variantele 30d cu 286 si 298 cp, aparute dupa 2020 si respectiv 2023. Ambele au si ceva MHEV, motoare, motorase, chestii trestii de le mai ajuta unpic. As avea indoieli ca versiunea 2018-2020, cea de 265cp, este la fel de "shmekera". Versiunile 30d si 40d cu facelift (dupa martie-aprilie 2023) sunt despartite de 55 cp si 50 Nm, deci cred ca ceva diferenta s-ar vedea 🙂 Acum na, depinde de tine daca merita acest (mic) plus de putere.

Well, based on this gear ratio table i found for this model gyazo.com/49b643e3ce8f7be25d589fbca44acb93 and on the fact that the car is at around 5.900 rpm in 4th gear at 130 km/h GPS, it works out that in 7th gear at 130 km/h the engine sits at 2.900/3.000 rpm (i think).

I would like that too, but as i'm not based in Germany, that would mean to break the speed limit by too much, and i don`t wanna go that far with this.

Yes, you might be right, probably very few people drive around in Sport+ mode but the reason i do the tests in each car's sportiest setting is because i want to see it's top performance. Moreover, from what i've noticed, the difference between normal/comfort mode and sport mode is small to minimal when it comes purely to straight line acceleration, and this applies not only to BMWs.

There are 2 options for a power output of over 200 hp, from a 4-cyl 1.6 turbo engine (simple or hybrid). Probably an electric version is coming too, i'm not sure.

Honestly i did not test for this. What is clear from rewatching the video is that the car is in 4th gear @ 4.5k rpm at 140 km/h and what i think is 5th gear @ 2k rpm doing 100 km/h. I'm sure that if you search for the gear ratios online you might be able to work out the values for 6th gear.

my 3 G122 manual is at 2.300 rpm at 110, 2.700 rpm at 130. automatic should have slightly shorter gears, so probably a little bit higher rpms

I'm not really a fan of the 1-big-tablet dashboard style, but the exterior is really nice indeed 😉

I'm not sure about handling (which is definetely a strong point for this model), but the Hyundai i30 and the KIA Ceed with the 1.5 turbo and 160hp are superior in terms of both acceleration and interior feel. I have clips with both of them if you wanna check them out.

@@MsAndrei789 i checked the GPS recordings from my device and the closest to 100-150 i could get a 100-143 km/h (during the 1/4 mile run). So i found the next values: 100-110 is 1.5 sec, 100-120 is 3.1 sec, 100-130 is 5.2 sec, 100-140 is 7.5 sec and 100-143 is 8.25 sec. So seeing how time increases for every 10 km/h interval as speed gets higher, i would say 100-150 takes about 10 - 10.2 sec.

@@MsAndrei789 yeah, maybe just a bit faster, but i don't think you would really notice in real life. Your Octavia has to be considerably lighter than this Mazda.

​@AcceleratingCars Hatch amd Sedan both have identical weight. I tested it on all season tyres, but it isn't any slower than on summer tyres. Actually, hatch is around 30kg heavier.

@@ampm9771 Why would a hatch be heavier than a sedan? And i was thinking that your model could be lighter than the one i tested because cars with automatics are usually 30-50 kg heavier than the same model but with manual.

@AcceleratingCars It is heavier, because the chassis at the rear is much larger and stiffer. Just look how much more metal is used in c-pillar also the hatch is much heavier than Sedan's boot. You can also check the data sheet from Mazda. It says it is 30-40kg heavier. But you are right, AT box is approx. 30kg heavier. But like for like, hatch is heavier.

I'm not 100% sure, but i think the car ran on 95 gasoline. But as i said in the video, the weather conditions were not the best, as it was a little bit wet. In dry conditions i'm sure the car can get better 0-100 time (i don't think 7.9 sec, but i think it might get close to 8.3 ).

O sa-ti raspund in romana, merge mai repede 😜 -ca performanta dinamica, Toyota sta ceva mai bine (se si vede dupa cifre), fiind un pic mai puternica. -cutia de viteze de pe Toyota nu imi place (in general nu-mi plac cvt-urile, dar asta e preferinta personala) -ca manevrabilitate, un plus pt Mazda -la interior sunt cam pe acolo, spatioase, destul de calitative -ca instrumentar de bord si sistem infotainment, Mazda clar (desi nu te da pe spate), insa cele de pe Toyota parca sunt de anii 2010-2012. -sunetul in habitaclu e mai greu de suportat in Toyota, cand o calci mai sustinut ai permanent huruitul ala in cap. Per total, personal cred ca in final as alege Mazda.
