Got ADHD? Do you struggle with emotional regulation? Do you have the self-awareness to realize that many times you're struggling with your emotions when you're not getting your way, or when you can't get somebody to do what you want them to do, or when you're trying to control other people's intent but they don't want to be confused with the facts? In this video, ADHD coach Jeff Copper (digcoaching.com) talks about this phenomenon from a self-awareness perspective. He also discusses what you can do about it. It doesn't mean that'll be easy, but it will at least give you some direction, best practices, and suggestions for how to move forward. The idea is that your life could be a lot easier if you can begin to manage your emotions. By letting them run out of control, it deteriorates your life and your relationships with those around you. Watch this video for insights.

Sometimes I am shocked at how out of touch I am with my own feelings. I think my first psychologist noticed this and put a lot of emphasis into helping me find ways to be more in touch with them. Meditation, mindfulness, etc.
Great content, as always. Greetings from Argentina.

You are the most helpful guide in the CZcams world! It's like you are reading my mind. I always come away feeling more regulated. Today I am going to "just surrender [my] attention to those situations and just let go."

@@AttentionTalkVideo Here are a few reasons why your videos are so helpful to me:
      1.They are short.
2.There is almost always a surprise or twist about ADHD that I haven't heard about.
In other words, "Ah-ha" moments abound. (even though I have read extensively about this condition)
3.They are timely--it's as though you are "reading the room" on a daily basis.
4.They seem to be coming from someone who has experienced the rough edges of dis-regulation.
5.They are not commodifying or commercializing ADHD.
6.You let it be known that you don't have *_all_* of the answers and you welcome suggestions from the community.
7.You do not let off a vibe of being overly cheerful or intensely glum about ADHD.
8.There is at least one more reason, but I just got distracted and had to leave the room. When I got back; I forgot. 😜

@@hadrianwall-r7h OMG! Thank you so much. Your comments mean the world to me.
At the end of the day my goal is to try and convey my take on how things are. This is quite difficult and getting more difficult (many are using ChatGPT or othe AI tools to develop content based on what is popular... what people want to hear... not what they need).
ADHD is complex and i don't have all the answers... i do know this... people want ADHD to be simple... like give me that one trick and it will all go away. I really try not to fall into that trap as it isn't that simple.
Thanks agaif for taking the time to share your thoughts and thanks for tuning in.

This hard but I'm slowly re-learning and regulating my self. Also leaning to accept it and letting go is tough but I'm getting to their. Thanks!

Teens... they are tough. If i had an answer to that i'd be the richest person on the planet. I did learn from Elaine Taylor-Klaus... try not to control... the idea is not to control to retain influence.
      Thanks for posting.

@@cheri7054 Sorry about that, my bad. Struggling? Interesting how many who struggle are vrey controlling. You'd think they'd be more open... has to be very frustrating as a parent.
