    2:36 from the Giants perspective, the Seahawks paid $650k, a second, and a 5th to rent out LW for a playoff run.

      Fair enough
      And from the Seahawks perspective, the giants spend $9M to get a 2nd and future 5th and give up a a versatile first round talent that they won’t be able to replace in the draft next or in ‘25
      But, they do get picks they can potentially package for a future qb
      Win-win

      @@stevendominguez6714I mean I guess? LW is a versatile high floor guy, but if they couldn't get a good price for him they weren't going to trade him (I say that because Schoen hasn't shown himself to be a "take whatever I can get" type of GM"). There also wasn't much of a feeling that he'd be extended past this season given they didn't touch his contract the entire time we've been riding the cap limit this year.
      Ultimately the Seahawks get a high floor, high motor DE who's a non-liability at the 3 or 5i when he's having a bad day. On a good day, the opposing QB will go home with cracked ribs.
      The Giants get picks, a little cap relief, and the ability to give DJ Davidson actual snaps to develop.

    I love this deal. The second round pick will be a low round pick, and the salary cap issue is mute. He can be in a rotation barring any injuries and play a more reasonable snap count. Makes me think of Tony McDaniel and his ridiculously important role years ago, but Tony was older and had even more miles on him.

    I think we did really well! However, my biggest concern is that after 9 years, we still do not have an 'A' OL. Ever since Carroll didn't trust our OL in the Super Bowl to get Marshawn over the goal line, we have sucked. At present, we are 23rd in the league for 3rd down conversions. Primarily, because our OL cannot push forward when we need the short yards. Our opponent this week, The Ravens, are 6th in 3rd down conversions. I see a bigger, expanded rotation for our DLs, since they will get tired staying on the field. Why, after 9 years, can't we get this sorted out?

    I'm EXTREMELY excited about this trade, I really am not concerned with the cost, because I believe the Seahawks have every intention of signing him to an extension, or a new deal. They traded for him because they saw a chance to get a former top ten draft pick defensive lineman who can play all over the line, who fits their scheme perfectly, and comes in immediately as the best d lineman on the team.

      If you look at it as we are trading a second round for someone who will make immediate impact, rather than a rental, it softens the blow. Regardless of who we could get in the second round, they wouldn’t help us this season when they have a chance to go deep into January football. The pick, though a little steep, is worth a non wild card playoff berth

    The problem with the passing game in NY starts with coaching. Danial Jones wasn't in the game when they threw for negative yardage. NY's troubles start with coaching.

      Who cares? This is a Seahawks channel and if u arent talking the Seahawks, SHUT UP. Giants suck ass we all know that and we stole one of their best players for a worthless second and fifth rounder we can easily get back if we want. GO HAWKS

    People need to stop focusing on the 2nd and 5th. If LW signs with a different team, I heard that the Hawks get a 3rd round compensatory pick in 2025. That averages out to giving away a 4th round pick, which with only a $650k cap hit is a fantastic deal. I thought our interior defensive line and Taylor were awful against the Browns, so I love this signing.

    • @ryanp5991

      This all depends on how much LW would sign on the open market, how it compares to other deals, and if the Seahawks sign any other free agents.

    No risk, no reward. This is a low-risk move with great reward potential, plus it fills a need for our club. Looks like a rental but there's compensatory insurance. Cant wait for our defense to step on the field again!

    A bit of a gamble, but a good one. Losing a 2nd rounder hurts. But Pete is very old and he and John are going for the ring - now. Williams is in a contract year and will be balling out to improve his contract status for next year. The Packers are looking at a total rebuild and may offer Schneider big bucks to retool the team from scratch. A Super Bowl win would let Pete retire on top and allow John to move back home. A win-win for both teams.

    Lol second round pick really not that bad a first would of been a jaw dropper but they only gave up a 2nd rounder heard they trading Taylor might get that pick back or a 3rd and a 5th to make up for the 2nd pick and 5th we lost we do have players to trade to compensate for what we thought we lost

  • @fargomonkey5133
    @fargomonkey5133 Před 8 měsíci +1

    I think Giants fans are blaming the wrong people for how garbage their team is.
    The problem starts with their last year's recipient of coach of the Year! It continues with their garbage offensive line.
    Daniel Jones certainly is worthy of some of the blame, but it's down the list. Yes he's not worth the money he was paid, no one ever thought he was, (that deal was stupid from the word go), but the fact that he's overpaid doesn't mean it's all his fault when the team looks terrible.
    At the end of the day he's an above average QB, and it doesn't matter that he's getting paid like a top ten QB.

  • @larrylindgren9484
    @larrylindgren9484 Před 8 měsíci

    Overpaid for guy that's old. Chase Young was better and only got a 3rd. Williams was not worth 2 picks and one being a 2nd rounder.

    • @mgb4692
      @mgb4692 Před 8 měsíci

      Dude's 29, old🤣
      And we already got a pass rusher from tOSU on the practice squad that can be an extra guy. Mafe's straight *eating* and this is only gonna make him better with more up front. Meanwhile, all John "The Jerry Dibozo of the NFL" Lynch did was pretty much confirm that Clelin Ferrell won't be on the team when they play Jacksonville and Drake Jackson was a wasted pick. Besides any Niner fan honestly would have preferred either LW or Jaylon Johnson, they got neither (and going OL, Ezra Cleveland).
      BTW you might have noticed that extra third, which is gonna come in handy when the Broncos and Saints finish about 6-11/7-10 (whichever pick it is). *That's* why the Hawks can go about and flip a second.
