Excellent discussion with these two as I am not an expert or even someone with a lot of knowledge. Have two relatives who work for the team. Go hawks😀
INteresting breakdown and narrative on these players.
I wonder if DK would be "better" if his situation was like julio jones, megatron, jefferson where he played with some JAG wr's and had a qb that actually produced unlike geno last year, wilson in '21?
Please no let’s just wait for a rookie! Have a good
Catching passed is a poor judge of a WR sometimes. You could be doing your job perfectly but the ball never comings your way. You could be open every play and the ball never come your way. Youngs numbers scream playing time. Yet he struggles to get on the field even when healthy. That odd. Strength, speed. Every team wants WRs that have that. Yet he never gets a chance to play. His traits scream he's an outside the numbers WRs like a DK. Maybe this staff will let him get on the field to see if the traits play out on the field. Under Caroll, Young never got that chance.
Go Hawks!!
Taylor has the talent to get 15+ sacks. But does he have the will to try and stop he run so he can see the field to get a chance to get 15+ sacks. I say no. Yet they are payig him almost nothing. On obvious passing downs he could get on the field where a 7-yard run, he'd give up doesn't matter when it's 3 and 10.
First 5 games Seattle played teams that didn't try and run the ball. If one player drops you from top 5 to the worst in the NFL I don't believe it. Seattle started playing teams that went into the games to run the ball and they did. Watch the Giant get. The ran it easily. But for some reason to stopped running it. And did that when the game was still in doubt.
“The Seahawks lack a deep vertical threat” Is that not DKs specialty?
Exactly what I thought..
They had a couple rookie deep threats on the practice squad last year. I don't know if they are still around.
I'd like to see Matt Gotel get an opportunity to prove himself
Darrell Taylor is not the most disappointing player I could think of Myles fans, Dee eskridge…
dang guys he’s all good I’m his nephew
If he’s anything like Nick Bellore then I’m an advocate! Let the hair be his image! Lofa Tatupu’s dad Mosi had long hair way back, a fullback at USC blocking for Ricky Bell in the early 1970s ultimately he was special teams captain for most of the 13 years he played for the New England Patriots 🤙🏽✌🏽😎
Both players are gonna take hometown discounts to stay with the team.
If it hadn't of been for Seattle Seahawks DK would of been a 4th rounder and Geno would still ne a back up. They are human beings with relationships with the franchise they are gonna take a hometown discount to stay.
@@byrdboykins8985I highly doubt dk would have fell all the way to the 4th. But I won’t complain if they give a discount. But I sure wouldn’t. The Seahawks have enough money. Get your money dk
@@byrdboykins8985DK never falls that far….no chance…..
Until they won’t.
Both are gonna hath to make it to the playoffs and win a game in the playoffs to get them paydays.
Absolutely no to new big contracts for Geno and DK. Time to move on from both after 2024.
Your point don't make sense who else we gonna have Lockett might retire this year and open up cap space so why move on and we don't know if we will have a stellar replacement for both of them.
@@byrdboykins8985 JSN, Bobo, a F/A or draft pick for 2025, it’s not that complicated. DK isn’t worth a big contract, especially with his on-field character problems that have been detrimental to the team.
@@Carrollavirus you can't count on that we don't know what they are gonna do until game time. I still think those 2 will be on the team with new contracts due to the history of consistency.
@@byrdboykins8985 Both are worthy of getting nothing, and are owed nothing from the Seahawks. The future of the team is not signing both players to big, long-term contracts. And yes, they are very replaceable.
@@Carrollavirus 😆😆😆 me and you are mostly subscribed to all Seahawks channels and you cease to amaze me. But imma wait til the time comes then we can argue.
Like your podcasts overall but why do you acknowledge listeners in cities in the U.S. but acknowledge listeners in Canadian provinces? There are cities in Canadian provinces too. Many Hawks fans live in them
Who cares dude. It’s a Seahawks podcast not Where in the World.
I mean... we mention Canadian cities quite often. Did two last week.
Dareke Young only had two catches as a rookie. That wasn't his fault. I doubt he had more than four targets. Shane Waldron didn't use him in that suprise role. Everyone looking at Dk, Tyler, Fant throw it to Young. I think he and Bobo would be a great 4th and 5th receivers. If Seattle keeps six receivers, it's because Young is our new Fullback. There is nothing wrong with using a fullback. It's almost becoming a lost art like a knuckle ball pitcher. Perhaps Macdonald would like this. The Ravens have always used a fullback. They currently have a 290 - or 300-pound guy who has soft hands and obviously a load to tackle. Young is more than just a great athlete he is a baller
Darrell Taylor is trash. Should only be on the field on 3rd and 20. Hall is a baller and on same trajectory as Boye Mafe.
If Derick Hall can play good enough to start from the other side of Mafe, we’re in good hands
Willie Mays Hayes :D
Remember that time Taylor tackled the QB without the ball? Wacky times.
Thanks guys
Also, the center/guard from Miami is a free agent and he received the best PFF score for his position.
Name?
@@rig2037Conner Williams if I remember correctly. Not sure on claim above, but wouldn’t mind seeing a little more depth there.
Adding more game just makes the regular season worth less. I'm betting they even as a wild card team. Making wins in the regular season less important. Baseball shows you how worthless the season is. 162 game and if you win 90 out of 162 you are probably in the playoffs. Barely play 500 and you are in. The NFL is getting the same way. Reward bad play with a playoff spot. It's so sad.
Steve Largent was considered slow and not the best athlete
I’m against an 18 game season. We don’t need another pro sport where part of the coaches job is to know when to SIT my stars. You can’t keep running backs on the field now. A season without injury is not common now. What will it be like when playing an 18 game season.
There is getting to be so much depth on both sides of the ball it's going to be so intriguing to watch the battles at training camp and preseason GO HAWKS!!!
I just realized Corbin kinda like like Kratos from God of War and now I can't unsee it
The most realistic "under the radar" guy that could breakout is Noah Fant.
MoBoBo!!
Did Drew Lock have the "clutch" factor, too, when he led the game winning drive against the Eagles? There is a reason why all QB's under Pete were "clutch" in the two minute offense. He did not just get lucky with Wilson, Geno, & Lock.
Lock even admitted Geno helped him before that drive.
I am just pointing out that Carroll has a long history of success in his two minute offense. The players have talked about how much they practiced their two minute offense.
@@CoryVB133 well hope it keeps on with Geno so he can win the big games for Seattle with Macdonald as well
Bobo is also one of the best blocking wrs in the nfl
Yeah, you don’t need to run a 4.3 to be a good blocker 😂
@@littlebilly8747 You don't have to run 4.3 to make the HoF either ask Steve Largent. Catch the ball and run your routes. You get open and get yards.
Bobo will be next years receiver #3 he can play on the boundary and in the slot. He is also a strong runner, and as Corbin mentioned, great hands
He's going to have more yards, plays, and tds than one of lockett, jsn, or dk?
Possibly WR 3 in 2025, this year if there are injuries.
Naw we wanted Jalen Carter ..those intelligent Seahawks fans 😭😭😭😭😭
Shouting back atch from Champaign, IL!
Why would the Seahawks intentionally get themselves into the exact same catch 22 that the Cowboys have been in, overpaying for a mediocre QB? The number one thing that has kept the Cowboys from being better, is Dak's contract, and people are really suggesting that the Seahawks should do the same? I'm VERY serious when I say this, I would MUCH, MUCH rather start Sam Howell! In fact, I actually think Howell has more upside, and will be, (not could be, but will be) a better QB than Dak. I could be wrong, but I'd take my chances, and Howell's contract over Dak ANY DAY!!
Can you imagine if stone was able to play center and do it well?
Can’t be any worse than his play at tackle.
Or....we just try playing a multi award winning center in college as a center in the pros.
Why is Coby Bryant still on this squad? He hasn't passed the eye test at all since being drafted.
Because he can fill in at several dB spots.
How about Kenny Easley's medical history? What is the saying about ability? (availability)
Love the show. Do we need to hear the word podcast 5 times in a 15 second intro? I find myself often saying to myself “it’s the podcast podcast podcast podcast.” Not trying to be rude it’s just really redundant hearing it every time I listen.
Darryl Taylor can get to the quarterback. The problem is that he bounces off of them once he gets there. He can't get the bigger ones to the ground. Coby Bryant isn't bad, probably an NFL caliber player, but the team is just stacked at the position. If Stone Forsythe is on the hot seat, then the depth at offensive line has improved significantly. He will be on an NFL roster somewhere. Eskridge holds a roster spot because he is under a rookie deal and Geno has tossed a lot of practice balls to him. His ceiling is probably worth his paycheck for the time being. When the rookie deal is done however, so is Eskridge. Probably forever.
I personally feel that the team wants to somehow show on film that Eskridge has value so that they can trade him for something. Even a 5th or 6th rounder. It must sting to draft someone in the 2nd and get almost nothing out of him. My 2 cents. Peace
Darrell Taylors real problem is SETTING THE EDGE consistently, Shedding blocks and identifying Run vs Pass. He SUCKS at stopping the run, He can be great at getting to the QBs sometimes and can cause fumbles, but most the time he cant shed blocks against OTs and he ends up falling to his knees and taking himself completely out of making plays. Hes a huge liability and he needs to work on his reads coming from the edge. He genuinely looks like hes just out there running as fast as he can after the QB without using his strength or any real pass rush moves outside of his corny spin move that barely ever works lol.. I liked Darrell Taylor but its obvious what he is now. Pretty good if he can find a way to play consistency at a high level, and when hes playing bad, Hes barely worth being in rotation. At this point, Id rather play AGAINST Darrell Taylor, than have him play for the Seahawks.. We gotta get better and so does he. Best to part ways hopefully.
@@Richard-il6wcIts too late for Eskridge to do ANYTHING on a football field that would make him worth a 5th or 6th rounded. A LOT of other teams have better 4th WR options for 6th or 7th rounders. Eskridge being worth a 5th or 6th is a joke.. Barely worth the last pick in the draft at this point
@@rig2037 I don't disagree with your assessment of Taylor, but he essentially became a package player that was utilized only on passing downs. The team knew he was bad at setting the edge and avoided putting him in that position as he basically lost his "starting" or "every down" job. So, he wasn't a factor in the run game because he was utilized primarily on predictable passing downs as a pass rush specialist, not as an early down run stopper. He was in that specialist role because of the issues that you mentioned. All of this changed, however, when Nwosu got hurt. The team was forced to take Taylor out of the specialist role and utilize him in a way that they didn't necessarily want to. Hence my criticism of Taylor's inability to take down larger quarterbacks stands. If you intend to utilize him as a pass rush specialist for predictable passing downs (the role he played until Nwosu got hurt), then the fact that he has difficulty bringing down larger quarterbacks becomes the primary issue when determining his roster value.
I think Taylor is a great athlete, not a great football player. Athlete only carries you so far in the NFL...reminds me of a former Seahawk, a #4 overall pick if memory serves, named Aaron Curry. Different position and all but similar career?
Might as well call it Slot Safety
K9 was forced to cut back a lot. We didn't get a lot of push from our interior offensive line most games. The only player we could consistently knock off the ball was Micah Parsons.
Thanks guys
Witherspoon is our best player relative to others at the same position
How did Devon "Hit Stick" Witherspoon not get DROY? Will Anderson Jr. had a great year but Hit Stick had a historic one.
Unfortunately, the only answer is that he plays in Seattle. I'm hoping he'll take it personally and use it as additional motivation.
Based on what 🥄 was asked to do, his season was WAY more impressive than Will’s
Because its a running joke that seattle gets robbed every year with ROY awards. They chose RG3 over russ and same thing with riq, richard sherman and other notible players. I honestly feel its because the league forgets the pnw even exists until 2013-2015 when we actually were relevent in the playoffs
@@joshe2190 It’s funny because it’s like the least shitty part of the country too 😂🙄
@@littlebilly8747 exactly lol. Not saying its the gold standard. But compared to places like detroit, philly or SF!! cmon now 😂 and those places are dumpster fires and they get way more coverage

Until you see Abe cutting laterally at speed, i wouldn’t get your hopes up too much. Straight-line isnt bad to see, but its not clear that the instability is now addressed.
How cool would it have been to have young Bobby Wagner in Coach Mike's defense? Bobby is one of the most efficient and devastating blitzers of all time and he rarely got to it.
