I think Hawks are adding a Michael Bennett like player who can play practically play anywhere along the D-Line and be a lot of trouble for the opposing OL.
Between Williams and bringing Frank home reminds me a lot of the Bennett and Avril pickups.
That's what I thinking too. Very Bennett like, but maybe a bit stronger? Plays all along the line.
@@rickbrant5198 100%!!! I will say Bennett was hands-down quicker but Williams is definitely bigger and likely stronger at 6'5", 300 lbs. I believe Mike played at 6'4" 275 lbs.
This solves two problems on that defensive line. We now have defensive end help and edge rush help. Imagine a dline with mafe-Reed-Jones-williams. That alone looks scary

Julian Love played with him at the Giants. Jamal Adams played with him at the Jets. Uchenna Nuwosu played with him in college at USC. They are all raving about the transaction as well. Good chemistry guy. Go Hawks! ✌️🏼

Giants fan here. Looking forward to seeing Leonard play for the Hawks, but really sorry to see him go. He had such great chemistry w/the Defense as a team Captain. I would not be surprised if he comes out in beast mode and crushes it for the Seahawks.....darn it ;)
6-5, 295lbs, can play anywhere on the line. loved this pickup. i guess the Giants buying up to 2nd rd pick is what it is. hopefully he works out and possibly stays a while. He will get reps.
Another G Fan here. Brings a hard playing , smart motivated guy to your ranks. Good guy, character wise and will be playing for a contract. And in this NFL not a jerk. I wish him well and he will be missed. Good Luck Hawks !
Don't know why Bob is so confused. You are basically trading a late 2nd round pick and a 2025 5th for a 4th round comp pick and paying $600k. Reed and Jones have been playing way to many minutes. And the backups are a liability. It's a no brainer Bob! Don't try and confuse the situation.
Adam's came back and Spoon was playing nickel. The defense made a jump. Now Clark and this new edition... Could be like adding Aviril and Bennett.! Nice rotation. Keep them fresh
Feels like when Avril and Bennet came in the rotation. Not starting yet but keeping every guys legs fresh for constant pressure. The D line thrived back then..

I believe it’s to speed up the QB since we have Witherspoon and Woolen, love and diggs.. we definitely have Ball hawks and I believe this will lead to more interceptions overall

They did not overpay and the deal has downside protection. If Williams walks in free agency they’ll get at least a 4th rounder back in the form of a compensatory pick. Great move.
The 2nd rd draft pick means very little here since we have Denvers 3rd rd pick and if we make the playoffs that means itll be a late 2nd and we will have a early 3rd so I love this trade. Its also reported that the 2nd round pick was not originally offered but to get the giants to cover most of the contract with seattle only having to pay the vet minimum for him. Williams can also play at 3 tech, 5 tech and NT so he can play all 3 spots on the DL

I think the reason we gave up as much as we did had more to do with Giants eating the cap than anything.

Everyone is acting exactly like they did when we drafted Spoon, "we needed someone at a different position, why did we draft him, we have Riq, blah blah blah."
Williams is a difference maker, difference makers can change the outcome of games just by being on the field and that makes the team better...
sure we gave up a 2nd round pick for next year but we still have 2 3rd round picks, we will be alright lets think time now and focus on next year after the season ends.

A guy like Williams can contribute regardless of sack numbers. I don't think Pete and John pulled the trigger because Williams is not disruptive.
He creates a tons of sacks even if he doesn't get them himself.

Jones and Reed need less reps. Also, we are paying almost nothing for him. Plus, he'll likely get us a comp pick if he leaves. Plus moving up and down the line wil be useful. Also, surprising you guys didn't see this coming when multiple of the fan ran channels actually named him specifically as a trade target.

in all honesty, if he can play all the positions on the d line, why not have him be a player that can give our guys a rest for a couple of plays to keep the chances of injury down. I like this move, just don't like the fact of giving up a 2 and a 5 for him.

After getting gouged the last few weeks by screen passes, getting much more stout on the interior was the way to go. Plus, it makes the team crank it up, knowing that the front office believes in them, and their ability to compete.

@hulksmash8103 he is talking about comp picks. If the Hawks don't resign him, it'll be because of $$. If a team is gonna sign him for 15+ million per, then the Hawks will most likely get, at worst, a 4th rd pick in return for losing a high-profile player. The comp pick can go as high as a 3rd rd pick, all depending on the FA market. So, really, you're saying you're willing to risk moving back from the 2nd to the 4th rd for a player that could help you win a SB.

I think they made the move because Dre Jones has not panned out like they hoped. It's been very obvious that his name has not been called hardly at all in 7 games, he has been invisible for being such a big off season acquisition. Leo will take more of Dre's reps.

DK is dinged up. Tyler lost snaps. JSN is coming but not here yet. Bobo too but our depth is one lost player for any games becomes a problem. Unless, given the chance, JSN could explode into a J Jetta level player? IDK.
Everytime the Seahawks gets an amazing player, its a dud. Us seattlits are for to used to this scenario. Im a die hard seattle fan. I pray for my team,but i also know every teams fans pray for there team. This is what makes the NFL so exciting. Much props to all the fans of there team. Keep praying for your teams greatness.
