We are used to it. When the Hawks win, sports analysts almost always focus on what the losing team could have done differently to beat the Seahawks rather than on what the Hawks did right to get the win. And if the hawks lose, the focus is "always" on what the other team did right to achieve the win and not on what the Hawks could have done differently to get the win. This is consistent as the sky is blue and you can tell most analysts have no idea whatsoever that they consistently take this approach. A complete lack of awareness by "profesional" analysts except for Mr. Rich Eisen and it's why we watch the Rich Eisen show.

This is actually very true. As of today Seahawks are 1st in their division and 2nd in the nfc. I have barely herd a peep about seattle on social media and brodcasts today
Funny because this is exactly how they reported on the Bengals loss and the Browns win.
Seattle won almost every stat in the Bengals game and handed that game away, but the media focused on how the Bengals won. Seattle lost almost every stat in the Browns win and the narrative is how the Browns lost.

This could definitely be one of those trades where both teams are happy with the outcome.
As a Giants' fan getting a 2nd and 5th round pick for a guy we weren't re-signing next year anyway, is a masterclass performance by Joe Schoen.
And if it can help Seattle rise up to that next level this season, going deep into the playoffs or even a SB appearance the price is a good value for Seattle fans.

There were a few things in motion at the beginning of this season that tipped Schneider's hand early on. They restructured Jamal Adams' contract to free up some cap space, then when Uchenna Nwosu got injured, they re-signed Frank Clark to the squad, but they needed another run-stuffer and inside pass rusher, which I assumed they would be able to swing by the trade deadline. I had my eyes on Montez Sweat or Johnathan Allen or Dexter Lawrence, but Leonard Williams can shed blockers to get free, which a lot of their younger rotation guys are still learning how to do consistently and with speed. Not only is he being coached under Pete Carroll, they acquired BT Jordan to be their defensive lineman coach. And if you don't know who BT is, he left the Michigan State Spartans as their pass rush specialist to run drills and practices for many of the top tier defensive ends and nose tackles in the NFL, and now he's in Seattle coaching up young guys like Boye Mafe, Darrell Taylor, and Derick Hall. The turnaround they've made from last year along that line is night and day - not only new personnel, but they're seeing the offense's blocking schemes well and that's why their run defense has massively improved. BT's impact on the defense is something that cannot be overlooked, and with a DE like Williams coming to their locker room, opponents had better be watching out for Big Cat. Line him up with Jarran Reed and Dre'mont Jones and you've got a monster line that can wreck games up front, before you even get to Jordyn Brooks and Bobby Wagner, and then their secondary ranging around the back half of the field. I agree with Eisen - this is a huge pickup for the Seahawks, especially as they head into the most difficult stretch of games for their season. Great work by John Schneider again!

Rich is one of the few national sports analysts that seems to really understand the Seahawks. Much more than Cowherd who was born and raised in Seattle.
Frank Clark quietly comes back, and Leonard is coming in. Seems a lot like the Michael Bennett/Cliff Avril acquisitions.

As a Washington State alumni, i find it ironic and despise that we are forgotten about while the Hawks are being described as being forgotten about.
As for the Hawks, they're assassins. They're not loud, bombastic, or charismatic. They're quiet, tactical, and know when to hit. Right when you have your back turned, they strike.

Jarran Reed has been nails for us but if you can rotate him out with another big vet in Williams, it keeps them all healthy down the stretch since we dont have a bye and means we dont have to lean solely on the rooks. Seattle are Jets west. Geno Smith '13 2nd round pick; Leonard Williams '15 6th overall pick; Jamal Adams '17 6th overall pick. Not to mention Pete Carroll used to coach the Jets.

It's natural geography. I grew up in NYC and barely paid any attention to anything happening west of the Rockies. Now that I live in Seattle, though, and have been living here for twenty-odd years? I get upset at the lack of attention. As if I'm a little princess who needs a cuddle and a candy bar. Take it from me, it's more fun following and fan-stanning Seattle sports than anything on the East Coast.

Seattle picked up a great player! But the Giants did well with the compensation (draft picks). Dave Gettleman signed Williams for too much money! This trade gives the Giants compensation and cap space to sign other players.

Its a late round second, they have 2 3rd round picks in 2024 and they only pay 600k for the rest of the year. With his upside, on this defense, I think its worth it.
