This man carried the 2008 Celtics to a ring. Proof is behind him.
Factual statements from Max.
Facts
You know it.
legend has it he checked rondo and kg in the locker room
@@playoffl36ron8 Lmaoo Facts
The Scallenge could be a television show… Retired NBA players playing pickup ball against rando’s at parks across the country
The best part is they weren’t even randoms. There were multiple active D1 bball players he faced against and he still dusted them without a sweat well out of his prime. Just goes to show NBA players are a different breed
Or just bring back Pros vs Joes.
Have you ever seen Zions high school highlights, that is what it would look like
I stupidly read this as “playing pickup ball against RONDOs” and went hmmmmm rondo vs scal….. (and yeah i still got scal lol)
Scal torching that bum one on one at a local Rec center is a top 10 internet video of all time
@@ttt23ddd77 in comparison to scal.
@Giannis Antetokounmpo 😂😂😂
i could see this video going viral tbh
This is top 3 all time of The Long Shot Pod 🔥
I was kind of shocked by how much I enjoyed it.
I watched a bit of one of the first episodes. This one popped on my feed and it was a great listen.
Scal rules so hard. His opinions are flawless.
@@PetulaDarling shouldn’t.
Scal don’t miss. And he’s not a hater but when he’s critical it all checks out.
Could you name other two of your top three? Im new listener and would be intrested, thanks
Big Scal is one for the ages. Thank you to Duncan, Davis, Brian, and the entire production team for producing this content.
This one's a gem
We need Mama Robinson on the Pod.
No we don’t
Honestly i am so thankful for this podcast. Thanks so much Duncan and Davis for what you guys do. This year has been so lonely but this podcast has been such a highlight.
Anxious asf rn but I got the hotshot👌
Scal needs to be on ESPN. Dude is spitting facts
I unironically love listening to Brian talk. He’s got amazing insight and love for the game of basketball.
I will always love and be fascinated how this guy who was essentially a benchwarmer and another forgotten role-player became a beloved LEGEND with one of the best ironic nicknames. I love it. BTW, I remember watching him play at USC during the 2000 NCAA tournament. He was definitely a standout player.
Top technical take away was Scal predicting “5 years from now no one in the NBA will have a hitch” that means every current high school kid or younger with a hitch is already behind
I could listen to this dude talk about basketball all day - Amazing Podcast
Scal is a legend, outside of all the memes n shit he really is just a good dude
"When I was in college, I ran a 4:45 mile at 6'9" 230". And yet people still think that if he made it into the NBA then anyone can XD
That's decent time for a 13 year old 😂😂😂 But yeah, basketball players are usually trash runners so that's decent for their size and biomechanics.
@@ChessJourneyman 4:30 is the world record mile time for a 13 year old 15 seconds more than that is probably way better than “decent”
@@michaelhall6628 15 seconds in running is a big deal though. Average 100m sprint is 15, seconds. World record is 9 seconds. The difference is more exaggerated with longer distance running but the point still stands.
Meanwhile the NBA MVP couldn't do a single push-up when he was a teenager. He was the most unathletic guy in his class and he drank 2l of coca cola everyday
That’s super fast And I’m a runner.
This one and Doris Burke’s have been the greatest episodes so far.
53:20 🙌 this man Scalabrine got the juice
I love Brian Scalabrine because he was inspiring me, being a role player or a rotational player doesn't mean you can't heat up now and then and do things nobody expects you to do. And when he did, fans were appreciating, it was so satisfying.
Brian Scalabrine is one of the standout voices of this era. If he wants to - he could be the BEST basketball voice moving forward.
I have so much respect for that man and the way he carried himself, very humble💯
He got robbed by not being in space jam
The man, the myth, the greatest player to have ever touched a basketball
Scal was very prophetic about the value of passing and having a scoring, passing playmaker run the floor. He said that 2 years ago and Denver and Joker are NBA champs.
This was one of my favorite episodes. Mamba always gives us insight whenever he speaks
Wow, anyone watching this after watching the Celtics lose to GSW? Everything he said about passing teams and the Celtics is SOOO SPOT ON.
We say goat a lot but this right here is truly a GOAT
Scalabrine such a quality human being in my opinion, always appreciate hearing him talk about basketball and just other topics in general.
Mikal Bridges getting some recognition love to see it
It's funny you can hear Duncan gets all his podcast phrasing, mannerisms and even tone of voice from working with JJ. Not an insult, that's how everyone learns to do anything; interested to hear how he develops his own style going forward.
he’s taking from a template which is perhaps the best in the game rn and is one he can closely study/learn from
15:37 4:45 mile at 6'9 230 lbs is no joke. I ran 4:34 mile in high school at 5'11 137 lbs and that was hard.
I ran 4:29 and I'm 6'4 193
@@ryu-ken So did you make the NBA yet? :)
Instant classic! Keep up the good work guys!
This was an awesome podcast episode
Great interview. Gonna have to check more of these out
Heck yes Duncan. Great stuff!
Great conversation! Entertaining on so many levels.
Shoutout to Rob Fodor! Can't wait to buy his shooting and movement course!
This is awesome
White Mamba running a mile in the 4:40's at his size is truly amazing...
This was so good.
Best one thank you
Another great podcast im about to watch. 🔥
Great interview, Scal is a real insightful player.
This is gold!
Wow. That was amazing. Full stop.
Thanks fellers.
Brilliant pod, I didn't think I'd watch for long, but I got to the end... Great stuff guys! 👍🏾👍🏾💪🏾
So much gold in this interview,. can't wait to share with my son
This is an amazing interview
This was one of the best podcasts ive listened to, Scal is has so many good things to say that are actually meaningful
One of my fave pod episodes
Good stuff, White Mamba always keepin things interesting. I like how Scal still talks like people did in his era, keepin it real for all the old guys.
Thank you Duncan. Thank you Scal. Thank you David. This was true gold and I'll be thinking, and always reminding myself: arm's length.
this same thing just happened to me, coach told me i wasn’t gonna make varsity and i worked my ass off and he’s finally appreciating it
Two of my all time faves right here
I can't think of a better guest.
The entire episode was unbelievable. Brian is very, very well thought out. Epic guest.
This was a really enjoyable podcast
this is one of the best podcasts on the inner workings of the nba and basketball in general i have ever heard
Podcasts with this level of continuity are next level!
this is gold,
17:13 The fact that Scal can joke about this is hilarious 🤣😭💀
This is a good episode
this is one of the best pods. scal is clearly a good dude.
The Underground King, The Red Goat! Much love from Chicago to Scalabrine
I love his undying passion for the game
Duncan has the best guest I won’t lie just genuinely interesting people and conversation
Dude is built for tv. We need this perspective.
Scal should join this panel as a regular guest, he's more than just being articulate but also being humorous.
Got to say this was a great podcast!
Scal knows more than your favorite baller about ball
This is interview is excellent. This reflects not just NBA but how experts become experts & you earn what you put in. Ppl get under appreciated as well, while these ppl keep doing what they do & what they believe in. Young ppl should watch this video every now and then as a reminder of how to become successful in life, & not being disillusioned.
Your commercials feel so natural. I couldn’t even tell this was paid advertising. You guys rock!
Great Vid!
Another great episode. Please stay in Miami Duncan.
Great Podcast! Enjoyable. Duncan if your home on Vacation then I’m jealous, I can’t make it back there until next month or August! Lol. You should think about having your Mom on, it would be superb!
Advice at 49:14 goes way beyond basketball. Great shit.
So entertaining
Is it just me or is Duncan really good on camera and as an interviewer? Dude's a natural.
The goat!
I was there when Scal dunked a 3 Pointer 🐐
Duncan’s journey inspired me a lot to do my thing. Glad Scal reversed it on him a lot during this interview to give us some perspective
"Always be The Poster"
Scal x Dunc x Davis is the combo of 2021
Scal gives you the essence of team sports… are you drawing two or nah?
Scal is a good speaker
He’s so effin entertaining wtf😂😂
No one is more immune to caring than brian scalabrine
🐐👏🏼
Excellent episode!!! Not a heat fan but like you as a player. The more i listen to you talk, i cant help but to think miami isnt the right team for you...just a feeling...hope you find the right team for you this off season. Good luck!!
Btw, your co-host is much better than that of JJ's....so...
I love guys who are not as physically gifted as they have to learn the game to an absurd degree. Matt Bowen is another example. He wasn't good enough to start, so he had to turn himself into a know it all special teamer. Now, he's a phenomenal football analyst.
BRUH I gotta get some of that Scalabrine Pasta Sauce LMAO
From the little 3 to the big ten . Tufts and amherst to indiana and iowa.
Made me a bigger fan of duncan once i realized he was from my home state
Scalabrine is an swesome person, I hope you get to teach his son some moves, Duncan!
jack sikma, catch high, keep high, drano
White mamba literally turned this episode to his own podcast.. and HE SHOULD HAVE HIS OWN PODCAST!
Part 2???
Wow Kenny !
Red Mamba, Scal gonna give you 50!
I think the Celtics' main problems were Kemba's decline and Brown's injury. They needed Kemba to create and he's not quite able at the level they need. They ended up with Taytum just going 1 on 1 and hoping it all works out too often.
Duncan and Scal are right about what makes a good offense: using passing and off-ball actions to get good shots. That's it. The funny thing is that Brad Stevens 100% understands this: the 2015 and 2016 Celtics were ahead of their time, but they're worse now than they were then as far as shot creation goes.
Okay this guys needs to become a GM
