i dont really see it as backhanded, but inspiring. So many musicians give up before really even starting because they cant play crazy fast or tap out bizarre harmonies in odd time signatures, but you don't NEED that stuff to be talented, and this is proof
dont forget how old they are and how long they have been a band...unless they learned how to play in their mom's womb ..they need a chance to get better at playing...and then again..consider they all play each others instruments...skating polly is a very very talented band...you can see in their lyrics.
@Nicholas Hansen Not really backhanded. The Beatles were known for taking simple progressions and making badass music. I think he's saying like, if you can do mad solos but they don't really make you feel anything, it's not really better than a simple song that carries emotion

This song seriously reminds me of Nirvana. I'm not even sure what song it's reminding me of, but that middle eight sounds so much like something Kurt would have written. The world needs a resurgence of real music.

Entre grunge et indie-rock, ritournelles enfantines et hymnes punk, Breeders et Cat Power, Kelli Mayo et Peyton Bighorse, alias *Skating Polly*, emballent depuis 2009 à Tacoma une pop lo-fi dont les demi-sœurs de 15 et 19 ans ont fourré un quatrième opus (_The Big Fit_, 25/03) plus délicieux qu'un paquet de gaufrettes à la vanille avec ses histoires à la Roald Dahl, genre ce _Picker Of His Words_ version Moldy Peaches, qu'avec un peu de bol on aurait tout à fait pu entendre sur le _Unplugged_ de Nirvana.

This is great. You can hear Kelli and Peyton’s parts are panned across to the side of the room they’re playing in the video. Not entirely cause if you were really in the room you be able to hear both parts in both ears just a one part a little louder in one and the other part a little louder in the other. The call and response structure in the verse makes the song a conversation with a rhythm and soundtrack

@@sonofsandwiches6892 I love the hotel covers. I think the Portishead cover is better than the original. Blew me away when I first listened to it. Also they cover dirty deeds by AcDc, check it out if you haven't already. Again, in my opinion they do it better. They should bootleg the covers.
